Experience the Best of Barcelona in Just 3 Days: Top 10 Things to See, Do, and Eat!

Experience the Best of Barcelona in Just 3 Days: Top 10 Things to See, Do, and Eat!

If you're looking to experience Barcelona in a short amount of time, then this is the perfect video for you! In 3 days, we'll show you around the highlights of this beautiful city.

#barcelona #barcelonatravel #travel #travelguide #travelguide2023 #travelmusicfood

This video will give you a great overview of Barcelona's highlights, from Sagrada Familia to the Gothic Quarter. We'll also provide tips on what to see and do during your stay in Barcelona so that you can have a truly magical experience!

Welcome to Barcelona, the capital of Catalonia and one of Europe's most vibrant and exciting cities! In this travel guide, we will take you through a three-day trip experience of exploring the city's stunning Gothic Quarter and Gaudi's iconic architecture to bustling street markets. Here are some travel tips that may help you during your first visit to Barcelona.

Day 1:
As first-time visitors to Barcelona, our first destination was Sagrada Familia. Buy skip-the-line tickets and be there on time. It's good to respect the rules of the place you visit, but just know that nobody will stop you if you wear shorts or sleeveless. You should buy a separate ticket for the towers. If doing so, ensure you are comfortable coming down 500 stairs and not claustrophobic.
The church's beauty starts from the outside with stunning facades, intricate carvings, and sculptures that tell stories from the Bible. Stepping inside, the beauty of the church only continues to deepen. The light pouring through the stained-glass windows illuminates the space breathtakingly and serenely.
The history of Sagrada Familia is truly fascinating. Construction began in 1882 and has continued ever since. The mastermind behind this gem is Antoni Gaudi, who dedicated over 40 years of his life to the project before his tragic death in 1926. After a late lunch, explore the streets of Barcelona on foot, admiring the stunning architecture along the way.
The ultimate destination is La Rambla, one of the city's most famous streets. Do not miss exploring the hidden alleys and side streets like Placa Reial, where you can find many international restaurants.

Day 2:
Start your day with an unforgettable breakfast in a small local cafe and walk to Park Guell, another iconic landmark by Gaudi. This park is located on a hill overlooking the city and is a true masterpiece of architecture and landscaping.
Park Guell was a housing development and later became a public park and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. One of the park's most distinctive features is the vibrant and colorful tile covering many structures. Every inch of the park is a feast for the eyes, from the famous dragon fountain to the whimsical mosaic benches. It's no wonder that Park Guell is one of Barcelona's most popular tourist attractions.
Take a lot of water with you and be prepared to walk under the sun, especially in the summer when it will be really hot. It is also recommended to visit around sunset to skip the heat and enjoy the view of the city.

Day 3:
Start by visiting the iconic Arc de Triomf, an impressive monument built as the main entrance to the 1888 Barcelona World Fair. Afterward, visit the famous Mercat de la Boqueria, La Rambla Market. As you walk through the market's narrow alleys, you'll be struck by the incredible variety of fresh produce, meats, cheeses, and seafood on display, much of it sourced from local farms and fisheries.
From the market, wander through the winding streets of the Gothic Quarter, admiring the stunning architecture of the medieval buildings and taking in the lively atmosphere of the neighborhood. The Gothic Quarter is one of Barcelona's most fascinating and historic neighborhoods, with narrow cobblestone streets, charming plazas, and Gothic-style buildings that date back to the Middle Ages.

Barcelona is a city full of energy, culture, and beauty. We hope this travel guide helps you make the most of your trip and allows you to experience everything this incredible city offers.

????Parc Diagonal Mar????

The Diagonal Mar Park is a public park in Barcelona located in the new district of Diagonal Mar i el Front Marítim of the Poblenou , in the district of Sant Martí . It is named like this because it is located at the confluence of Diagonal Avenue - which crosses the city diagonally - with the Mediterranean Sea . It is the third largest urban park in the city —without counting forest parks—, and also one of the most modern. It is the work of the architects Enric Miralles and Benedetta Tagliabue , and was built between 1999 and 2002, being inaugurated on September 21 of that last year by the mayor Joan Clos.

The land that the park occupies, plus others in the surroundings, in a total of 14 ha, belonged to the metallurgical and railway material construction company MACOSA —also known as Can Girona— , of which remains the memory of the tower of the waters in which the name Besós appears, for having previously belonged to a water company that intended to use the waters of the Besós river , which were quickly contaminated by the waste from the numerous industries in the area.
It is a park with a modern design, in which various metallic structures similar to whimsical tubular watermarks stand out, which in the way of sculptural pieces mark the entire enclosure, and at certain points support large planters made of colored ceramics, the work of potter Antoni Cumella Vendrell. The park is divided into three areas, two smaller ones next to the coastal area, both with a small pond, and a larger one that houses a larger lake, populated by ducks , geese and water birds. A wooden bridge connects the two banks of the lake. There are several grassy hills, one of which, called Magic Mountain, it has some slides for children to descend on. The banks are shaped like sea waves, and are called lungomare , an Italian word meaning stroll by the sea. The vegetation is made up of 51 different species of trees, among which a 150-year-old Canary dragon tree stands out . The park also includes playgrounds, soccer and basketball fields , petanque courts, and ping pong tables . On the other hand, a part of its surface was used for construction, and includes residential buildings, offices, hotels and a shopping center.

MORE INFO ABOUT THE VIDEO ????
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
Spain is a complex country! It’s also a pretty easy going one. But there are certain things that you just don’t want to get wrong. And here they are!

11. Don’t go OTT on please and thank you.
In Spanish we just don’t use the words as much. We are more likely to work ‘please’ and ’thank you’ into the tone of how we speak, or by tweaking the words (such as adding “ito” to the end of a word).

10. Don’t put bread on your plate.
In Spain, you always leave your bread beside your plate on the table. It sites beside your cutlery, because it kind of is a piece of cutlery.

9. Don’t eat with your hand under the table.
I grew up with no elbows on the table. But here in Spain we also have the rule that you should have your hands above the table at all times. Because you might have a knife??

8. Don’t offer guests a beer at 5pm
Because we eat lunch and dinner later, beer o’clock is usually about 8pm… not 5pm.

7. Don’t help with the dishes after parties.
It’s just not something that’s done here. At the end of a party or dinner party, you might help tidy up slightly, but you don’t help do the dishes.

6. Don’t be a ‘pesado’ in social situations.
Chill out! Don’t ask people what their job is straight away when you meet them in a social setting and don’t expect people to cut to the chase when telling a story - we take our time here!

5. Don’t misinterpret loud conversations.
When Yoly speaks with her mother on the phone, it can get heated. But they’re not arguing - it’s just that conversations here often sound more intense.

4. Don’t generalise about Spain.
This is a highly regional country. So don’t assume that every region of Spain has the same language, customs or food.

3. Don’t call Catalan a dialect of Spanish.
Catalan is its own language - and don’t get that wrong (especially when speaking to a Catalan)

2. Don’t used ‘usted’ willy nilly.
Here in Spain we’re pretty informal and so don’t use “usted” unless we’re speaking with older people or in very formal situations.

1. Don’t mention the civil war casually.
The Spanish civil war and the dictatorship is a really complex topic, and still an open wound in Spain. So wait until you know someone pretty well before diving into the topic.

This hotel was only 15 minutes away from our cruise port and was perfect for the night prior to our Disney Cruise! It also was helpful to have the Diagonal Mar Mall across the street, Abby may have forgotten a few things.

We had two connecting rooms, when reserving rooms in Europe we noticed they rarely have two queen beds, you can have two twin beds or a king bed. Because of this we got two connecting rooms, it was really nice to have two bathrooms, lots of outlets, and mirrors!

We also ate a breakfast buffet at the hotel that we really enjoyed, there were a lot of options!

And after breakfast we headed off to our Disney Cruise, if you are curious about our airline travels, the link is below

Diagonal Mar is a shopping center in the city of Barcelona, in the Diagonal Mar neighborhood and the Poblenou Maritime Front. It was inaugurated on November 21, 2001, and thus became the largest shopping center in Catalonia at that time, with 240 premises and a commercial area of 87,000 m², exceeding the 81,000 m² that the center of La Maquinista had. It had the largest underground car park in Spain, with 5,000 spaces. It involved an investment of 240 million euros by the Hines real estate agency.

Tenía el aparcamiento subterráneo más grande de España, con 5.000 plazas. Supuso una inversión de 240 millones de euros por parte de la inmobiliaria Hines.
