ESKISEHIR TURKEY - The City of FANTASIES || Unbelievable Places to Visit in Eskişehir & Odunpazarı

ESKISEHIR TURKEY - The City of Fantasies || Unbelievable Places to Visit in Eskişehir & Odunpazarı

In today's video, we visit Eskisehir which is a city in North West of Turkey. Eskişehir is a truly magical city with a fabulous mix of modern as well as traditional Ottoman architecture. Eskişehir is adorned with golden statues and is known as the 'Venice of Turkey' with its gondola rides on the Porsuk River, as well as beautiful bridges. You can easily visit Odunpazarı, using the trams, taxi, or by walk like we did. Odunpazarı is a traditional Ottoman village with well-preserved buildings, cobbled streets, and handicraft markets. You will feel like you have taken a step back in time. Don't forget to enjoy Balaban Kebab, which is a famous dish that is only available in Eskisehir!

Sazova Park should also be on your list of places to visit whilst in Eskisehir. Here you can find a Disney-Like castle, but when you look closely you will see that it is actually made up of famous landmarks from around Turkey including the Galata Tower in Istanbul. You will also find an aircraft exhibition here since Eskisehir was where Turkey's first aviation industry began.

Şelale Park is a great place to visit to catch a fabulous glimpse of the city from above. The best time to visit Selale Park is during or after sunset since the site of the glistening lights from the city are just magical.

You can enjoy the very best of Eskisehir in turkey if you visit these must-see places as shown in our video.

I started out by cruising down in the center and seeing a live band play on the streets and then headed over to a local spot to test out the pide - like a Turkish pizza. After. ISTANBUL TURKEY: TOP 21 UNMISSABLE Things To Do (MUST Watch Before Visiting!!!)

Istanbul Turkey: Top 21 Unmissable Things to do (Must watch before visiting!!!)

In this video, I share with you the top 21 things to do when in Istanbul Turkey. This is as close one can get to a full travel guide when in Istanbul, Turkey for at least one week.

Istanbul is a city that has so much to offer and if it is visited properly, it is unforgettable.

I begin this video by sharing my visit to Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. The first time I walked on Istiklal Street was quite memorable for me as I was impressed by how much there is to see in terms of shops, particularly food places.

After walking this street, the Galata Tower will appear and it is an absolute must-see if you are in Istanbul because of the fact that it is among the first landmarks you'll see when watching any video or viewing any photos of Istanbul. It is 1,000 years old and the views from above are spectacular.

Another great place I found was Balat. This is a special neighborhood where you can see colorful houses. It's just a nice spectacle and the area is surrounded by trendy cafes and restaurants.

When in Balat, I highly recommend you go and visit the tomb of the legendary Yavuz Sultan Selim's (Selim I) tomb and mosque. Sultan Selim I was the 9th Sultan (King) of the Glorious Ottoman Empire and the First among the Ottoman Sultans who became the Caliph of the entire Muslim world in the early part of the 16th Century. His Mosque is exquisitely designed and the views from up there are wonderful as the entire complex is built upon a hill.

Now if you are in Istanbul for only 3 days, it may be a good idea to stay in Fatih District because you can easily access the Basilica Cistern, Grand Bazaar, Sultan Ahmet/Blue Mosque, Topkapi Museum and the Byzantine Hippodrome as these are all within walking distance.

I highly recommend spending time at the Topkapi Palace Museum as it was used by the earlier Sultans of the Ottoman Empire when they moved to Istanbul after the Conquest of Constantinople in 1453. You can visit this palace and see incredible exhibits, rooms, and structures. The Topkapi Harem requires an additional ticket but it's well worth buying

Another good palace to visit is the Dolmabahce Palace, which was built around 400 years after Topkapi Palace and is another incredible palace as well as a museum to view.

Eyup Sultan's tomb and Cami is a must-see place because the tomb is occupied by the blessed companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Sayyidina Ayub al Ansari رضي الله عنه

The mosque of Eyup Sultan رضي الله عنه is immensely impressive and you can easily use the cable cars near to the tomb to get up to Pierre Loti Hill to get great views from above.

Rumeli Fortress is also an interesting place to visit because it was built a year before the Ottomans took Constantinople in 1453 and this fortress played a key role in achieving victory.

The Aya Sofia is also in the Fatih District and it's one of the greatest houses of worship and mosque you'll ever visit. This house of worship was first built by Prophet Suleiman/Soloman عليه السلام

I highly recommend everyone to visit the blessed tombs and mosques of Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and Fatih Sultan Mehmet (Mehmed the Conqueror) as these are very significant kings among the 36 Sultans from the Ottomans.

Also, to learn more about the Ottomans, do take a look at this channel: @RoyalOttomanSociety

I also share a couple of cafes and a restaurant in this video as Turkish food is renowned around the world.

TOP 21 TURKISH FOODS | Istanbul Food Guide

What is food in Turkey like? This is by all means, not a cumulative list of Turkish cuisine. I recommend all travelers to explore Turkish food on their own-- Turkey has a fascinating Ottoman history and culture of farming, fishing and livestock and you will find this reflected in their food as well.

Note: My diet was limited to Turkish vegetarian foods . I didn't document my experiences with mezzes (side dishes, which occasionally can be vegetable based)

BEST FOOD IN ISTANBUL | 20 Top Tips

???????? ISTANBUL Turkey 4K - Good Istanbul Food Vlog - The best food to try in Istanbul!

If you are going to Istanbul and looking for a good Istanbul travel guide you have come to the right place. In this Istanbul food video I give an overview of my favorite food in Istanbul and which food to try in Istanbul. Istanbul is one of my favorite cities and the Turkish food is undoubtedly a highlight of any Istanbul travel. But with so many options, which Turkish food to try? The best dishes to eat in Turkey may often be the most unassuming. A great Menemen breakfast, the excellent Turkish Baklava pastry, the famous Turkish Döner Kebab, the colorful and sweet Turkish delight, a yummy Tantuni chicken wrap, Kumpir as an excellent vegetarian option, Balik Ekmek fish sandwiches freshly fried on one of the boats anchoring at the Golden Horn in Eminönü, the list goes on and on... Wash it all down with a Turkish tea, Turkish coffee or Ayran yoghurt drink - or how about a nice pomegranate juice? Make sure to try this in Istanbul!

So let's get a taste of Istanbul in the best food places in Istanbul in Sultanahmet, Eminönü, Karaköy, Beyoğlu, Galatasaray, Üsküdar, Moda and Kadaköy! In my top-20 Istanbul food video I cover the best Istanbul street food to try, what to have for breakfast and dinner in Istanbul, where to get good food in Istanbul and what you should eat in Istanbul on your next trip to Turkey.

10 Interesting STREET FOOD Snacks to Try in ISTANBUL, Turkey!

If you are visiting Istanbul, don't forget to try these 10 tasty street food delights! Authentic, flavorful and unique.

Number 1: Scream For Turkish Ice-cream

Now we’ve all had ice creams in our lives, but have you tried the Turkish “Dondurma”? It is a little different to the western version, as it is creamy and sticky due to the “Mastic” in its recipe, but that makes it no less delicious. The best part is that instead of just placing a boring scoop into a cone and handing it over, in Turkey you’ll be treated to an experience that involves tricks and laughs.

Number 2: Turkish Delight “Lokum”

As children most of us read the Chronicles of Narnia and always wondered: Why on earth did Edmund sell out his family and Aslan for Turkish Delight? Now we know why. It is chewy, sweet, and comes in such a variety of colors, textures and tastes, and dates back to the 1700’s. What is there not to love about it? I highly suggest you check out Efezade shop near the Hagia Sophia. It has a rating of 4.5 in TripAdvisor, and you’ll not just be impressed by the selection but you also get an insight into how its made!

Number 3: Kunefe

Cheesy? Crispy? Baked? Now I’ve got your attention! This dessert made from kadayif, a traditional shredded wheat and topped with pistachio is drool-worthy. It is best eaten on a rainy or cold day, especially since it is served hot out of the oven. It is believed to have originated from a southern Turkish province called Hatay, and guess what - they are even seeking to register it for an official European Union trademark. Interesting eh?

Number 4: Börek

These pastries made of a thin flaky dough known as phyllo or in Turkish, “yufka”, were extremely popular during the Ottoman Empire and now have become a staple food. As you walk through the streets of Istanbul, you’ll find numerous varieties with different fillings but the one I most commonly spotted were those with cheese and spinach.

Number 5: Gözleme

Now in the evenings you may just want to relax and grab a bite to eat - what better than the delicious hand-rolled Turkish crepes? The best part is that you can even watch live how it is made with the filling of your choice. I would seriously suggest checking out the Han restaurant near Hagia Sophia. Very beautiful interiors, friendly staff and a great overall experience!

Number 6: Ayran

At the same Han restaurant we also got ourselves a yummy drink to go with our Gözleme. It is a cold, salty yogurt drink called Ayran that is said to have originated with the nomadic tribes prior to 1000 AD. It is so famous, that it even has been promoted as the national drink by the President Erdogan.

Number 7: Baklava
If you are interested in something sweet, rich, made of filo layers, filled with delicious nuts and held together with honey or a syrup, you need to make a bee line for Baklava. While the origin of this multicultural sweet is highly disputed, all that matters is that it is widely loved. There is even a National Baklava Day on November 17th! Can you believe it?

Number 8: Tulumba

Now for all of you foodies out there, I’m sure you must’ve tried Jalebi’s or Churro’s at some point in your life. Their cousin is the “Tulumba” from Turkey. It is a fried batter soaked in syrup, and was very popular in the cuisines of the former Ottoman Empire. You’ll find it in most street food stalls, and don’t worry, you don’t need to get your hands sticky. They come in perfect small cups, with a pick, and for less than a Euro each!

Number 9: Dondurmalı İrmik Helvası

One of the most interesting dessert combinations I found while exploring Istanbul was the Dondurmali Irmik Helvasi, which basically refers to a cold ice-cream hidden within a hot Semolina Halva. I did a little bit of research and found out that this form of Halva is very symbolic in Turkey especially since it signifies good fortune. It is made during religious Islamic occasions, when people are moving houses, and even offered to the family members of someone who may have passed away. Did you know this?

Number 10: Fish Sandwiches at the Galata Bridge

No doubt that this bridge is an iconic place in Istanbul - it is vibrant, bustling and a local favourite. Many come here to take a cruise around the Bosphorus, to go fishing, or to simply enjoy fresh seafood. One of the highlights are the floating restaurant boats that have set up a small kitchen to fry fresh fish and serve it in a hot tasty bread.
