This is why you NEED to visit Newcastle Upon Tyne | England's MOST Underrated City

Welcome to my vlog of Newcastle upon Tyne, I'm proud to be bringing you to my home! Join me as I explore some of the most iconic landmarks and hidden gems that this city has to offer.

We'll start by strolling along the iconic Quayside, with its famous bridges and scenic riverside views. Then, we'll walk through the charming streets of the city center, taking in the stunning Georgian and Victorian architecture, including the famous Grey Street and Grainger Town. As a season ticket holder of Newcastle United, I'll also give you a sneak peak of St James' Park on a match day, and a glimpse of what all us Geordies are passionate about. To finish off on our first day exploring, we'll also visit a few of the free museums such as the Discovery Museum, The Hancock Museum and the Laing Art Gallery.

Day 2 brings a lovely little surprise of snowfall, and we begin at Grey's Monument, this time working our way through Grainger Town, and passing the bustling Grainger Market, where you can find a wide array of local products and delicious food. A quick stop off at The Bigg Market, then we head towards the grand Central Station, then into a hidden gem, the Lit and Phil.

I'll then take you into St Nicholas' Cathedral, which I had never been in before, and then along to Newcastle's Castle Keep, which gave Newcastle its name.

As promised, finishing off with a lovely surprise, we'll be heading down into the dark with Victoria Tunnel Tours. I found exploring the Victoria Tunnel fascinating, and really enjoyed the stories and history alongside it.

It took a lot of planning, researching, and editing to finally get this video out, so I really hope you enjoyed it and it wasn't too boring. If you all enjoy this video, I may very well make a part 2, picking up on some stuff I missed out, but also including some other things to see and do which are slightly outside of the city.

You can book the VICTORIA TUNNEL TOUR here:

10 Worst Seaside Resort Towns in The UK

What are the worst seaside resorts in the UK? Anyone leaving home to spend some time at a resort is going with high expectations. There are tons of things to do at seaside resorts. However, it’s not all seaside resorts that live up to their designation. Some of them could be better described as anything else but resorts. Some of these pseudo-seaside resorts are there in the UK. We hereby present to you the 10 worst seaside resorts in the UK.
After considering each of them, the choice is yours to patronize them or steer clear of them. These seaside resorts in the UK were rated based on several features that are expected in seaside resorts and they were weighted over 100 points. The following are the scores.
10. Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset, England
Burnham-on-Sea is a seaside town located in Somerset, England. You would be fair to this place at the mouth of the Parrett River, upon Bridgwater Bay, if you reckon with it as a fishing village or town, for the sake of respect, that it used to be until the late 1700s when it began to grow.
While the park at Burnham-on-Sea was lovely with clean facilities and lots of activities, the resort could not score more than 48 points. The onsite pizza costs too much; you need a 10-minute walk to get a better deal. Most of the accommodation here is caravans without heating in the bedrooms. The bedding quality of the rooms is begging to be upgraded.
9. Colwyn Bay, Conwy, Wales
Colwyn Bay, a town and community in Conwy County Borough cannot escape our attention. Conwy is on the north coast of Wales where it is overlooking the Irish Sea. The town of Colwyn Bay is recognized as a seaside resort within the historic county of Denbighshire, no doubt. But what is in doubt is the quality of the resort. From what we know Colwyn Bay can’t earn more than 58 points.
Yes, the clean rooms, the security, and proximity to the North Wales Expressway, the railway station, and the beach count for something. However, the services were generally poor. The rooms are freezing without a heater and electrical fittings including plumbing were not being maintained. The food options were zero.
8. Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England
Then next is Great Yarmouth. Joining them in removing the prefix “great,” let’s comfortably join in referring to it by just Yarmouth which is more fitting than Great Yarmouth. In any case, it is recognized as a seaside resort town in Norfolk, there in England. Straddling the River Yare, it is located 30 kilometers east of Norwich.
As a seaside resort, Yarmouth ties with its more neighborly Burnham-on-Sea and Colwyn Bay in Wales to score 58. Though it has sandy beaches and two historic piers, amusement rides, and restaurants, Yarmouth as Norfolk’s flagship beach town is always crammed. Holidaymakers during the summertime suffer disorderliness here as if there are more services than the management could handle in an organized manner.
7. Morecambe, Lancashire, England
Morecambe is a town in the City of Lancaster in Lancashire, England. It’s hard to understand why Morecambe is still being referred to as a seaside resort. Up until the mid-20th century, it was a thriving seaside resort. Then it was home to the country’s largest Pontins resort.

Places to see in ( Newcastle upon Tyne - UK )

Places to see in ( Newcastle upon Tyne - UK )

Newcastle upon Tyne is a university city on the River Tyne in northeast England. With its twin city, Gateshead, it was a major shipbuilding and manufacturing hub during the Industrial Revolution and is now a centre of business, arts and sciences. Spanning the Tyne, modern Gateshead Millennium Bridge, noted for its unique tilting aperture, is a symbol of the 2 cities.

Newcastle upon Tyne commonly known as Newcastle, is a city in Tyne and Wear, North East England, 103 miles (166 km) south of Edinburgh and 277 miles (446 km) north of London on the northern bank of the River Tyne, 8.5 mi (13.7 km) from the North Sea. Newcastle is the most populous city in the North East, and forms the core of the Tyneside conurbation, the eighth most populous urban area in the United Kingdom. Newcastle is a member of the English Core Cities Group and is a member of the Eurocities network of European cities. Newcastle was part of the county of Northumberland until 1400, when it became a county of itself, a status it retained until becoming part of Tyne and Wear in 1974. The regional nickname and dialect for people from Newcastle and the surrounding area is Geordie. Newcastle also houses Newcastle University, a member of the Russell Group, as well as Northumbria University.

The city of Newcastle upon Tyne developed around the Roman settlement Pons Aelius and was named after the castle built in 1080 by Robert Curthose, William the Conqueror's eldest son. The city grew as an important centre for the wool trade in the 14th century, and later became a major coal mining area. The port developed in the 16th century and, along with the shipyards lower down the River Tyne, was amongst the world's largest shipbuilding and ship-repairing centres. Newcastle's economy includes corporate headquarters, learning, digital technology, retail, tourism and cultural centres, from which the city contributes £13 billion towards the United Kingdom's GVA. Among its icons are Newcastle United football club and the Tyne Bridge. Since 1981 the city has hosted the Great North Run, a half marathon which attracts over 57,000 runners each year.

Newcastle International Airport is located approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) from the city centre on the northern outskirts of the city near Ponteland . Newcastle railway station, also known as Newcastle Central Station, is a principal stop on the East Coast Main Line and Cross Country Route. Central Station is one of the busiest stations in Britain. The city is served by the Tyne and Wear Metro, a system of suburban and underground railways covering much of Tyne and Wear. Major roads in the area include the A1 (Gateshead Newcastle Western Bypass), stretching north to Edinburgh and south to London; the A19 heading south past Sunderland and Middlesbrough to York and Doncaster; the A69 heading west to Carlisle; the A696, which becomes the A68 heads past Newcastle Airport. Newcastle is accessible by several mostly traffic-free cycle routes that lead to the edges of the city centre. here are 3 main bus companies providing services in the city; Arriva North East, Go North East and Stagecoach North East.

Or visit a stunning waterfall? Come on this tour of Newcastle with us and let us know what you think of our adventures!

[4k] ⛫EP1 Roomzzz Hotel & Newcastle Castle | Full Video | Newcastle Upon Tyne | 'New-York' UK Trip

Originally planned a 2-day trip to Newcastle City but only managed to do a one day visit because I was unwell. This video will show you where we stayed and our visit to the Castle.

We stayed at Roomzzz Aparthotel in Newcastle. The hotel offers both hotel rooms and flexible serviced apartments options. The reason we chose them its because their rooms come with a fully fitted kitchenette which is what we always look for when we travel. We also loved their Grab & Go breakfast as well. We also visited Roomzzz in York which we’ll show you in later videos, we particularly liked the pastries available at Newcastle for our B&B breakfast. The location is not far from the train station, a five minute walk and very close to the Castle - only 3 minutes walk away.

Things to do in Arras in France!

Here is our Top 10, enjoy!

Arras is a beautiful city located in the northern region of France, in the department of Pas-de-Calais. It is a city steeped in history, with a rich cultural heritage that attracts visitors from around the world. The city is known for its stunning architecture, charming cobblestone streets, and its role in World War I. Today, Arras is a vibrant city that is home to a thriving community of locals and a popular tourist destination.

The city has a rich history dating back to the Roman era when it was known as Nemetacum. The city's strategic location on the river Scarpe made it an important trading center in the Middle Ages, and it flourished during the Renaissance era. The city is known for its beautiful architecture, particularly its Gothic-style town hall, which was built in the 16th century.

The town hall, or Hôtel de Ville, is one of the most iconic buildings in the city. It is located in the Grand'Place, the city's main square, and is a stunning example of Flemish Gothic architecture. The building features intricate carvings, elaborate gargoyles, and a stunning belfry tower. The belfry is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers visitors stunning views of the city from its summit.

Another iconic building in Arras is the Citadelle, a massive fortress that was built in the 17th century. The fortress is one of the most impressive examples of military architecture in France and is a testament to the city's strategic importance in the past. Today, the Citadelle is home to a range of cultural and educational institutions, including a museum, library, and university.

Arras is also known for its beautiful churches, including the Cathédrale Notre-Dame-et-Saint-Vaast, which dates back to the 11th century. The cathedral is a stunning example of Gothic architecture and features a range of intricate carvings and stained glass windows. The church of Saint-Nicolas, located in the heart of the city, is another stunning example of Gothic architecture and is home to a range of religious artifacts and artworks.

The city is also home to a range of museums and galleries, including the Musée des Beaux-Arts d'Arras, which features a range of French and Flemish artworks from the 15th to the 20th centuries. The museum is housed in a stunning 18th-century mansion and is a must-visit for art lovers.

In addition to its rich cultural heritage, Arras is also known for its role in World War I. The city was the site of a major battle in 1917, which saw British and Canadian troops attempt to capture the German-held city. The battle was one of the bloodiest of the war, with over 150,000 casualties on both sides. Today, the city is home to a range of memorials and cemeteries dedicated to the soldiers who fought and died in the battle.

One of the most important memorials in the city is the Arras Memorial, which is located in the Faubourg d'Amiens Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery. The memorial features the names of over 34,000 soldiers who were killed in the area during World War I and have no known grave. The cemetery is a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by soldiers during the war and is a popular destination for visitors to the city.

Arras is also known for its lively cultural scene, with a range of events and festivals taking place throughout the year. The city's most famous festival is the Arras Film Festival, which takes place every November and is a celebration of French and international cinema. The festival attracts film lovers from around the world and is a must-see for anyone visiting the city.
