????Carrer de Pujades????

Carrer de Pujades and Passeig de Pujades, before 1900 rendered Pujadas, are respectively a street and a promenade in the Poblenou and Sant Martí de Provençals areas of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). It's named after the poet and historian Jeroni Pujades, who penned a Universal Chronicle of the Principality of Catalonia in the 16th century. In Ildefons Cerdà's urban plan the street was to be named U street. It starts by Passeig de Picasso and Passeig de Lluís Companys, and runs to the north-east of Poblenou, at Carrer de la Selva de Mar, near Avinguda Diagonal. It borders one of Barcelona's biggest parks, Parc de la Ciutadella and crosses the city's new development district, 22@. Some 19th-century and early-20th-century industrial architecture is still to be found in the area, along with late-20th-century developments, despite their being replaced by newer structures and office buildings.

????Torre Baró????

The Torre Baró neighborhood occupies the place where two towers were previously built by the Pinós family - during the 16th and 18th centuries. At the beginning of the 20th century, the construction of modest houses began on one of the slopes that comes down from the Roquetes hill, with steep slopes. In fact, the newcomers built their own houses. The incessant population increase reached its climax in the 1950s and 1960s, with the great wave of worker immigration that reached the city.

Despite the demographic pressure on the city, the steep slopes of the neighborhood prevented overcrowding. For this reason, for many years, the neighborhood lacked communication networks and urban equipment in general. The actions of the administrations have improved the communications network, especially from the Vallbona avenue, which connects it with the rest of the district's neighborhoods, and transport, with the presence of buses and the metro.

Today, the neighborhood is presented to us as a space with steep slopes, winding streets that adapt to the relief and humble self-built houses that survive the passage of time.

Sitges - Amazing Beach Town | Gay capital of Europe (with Subtitles)

In this video of Travelling Passport ????, we will visit Sitges. Sitges is a coastal town in Spain's Catalonia region, southwest of Barcelona, backed by the mountainous Parc Natural del Garraf. It's known for its Mediterranean beaches and seafront promenade lined with grand mansions. The compact old town and surrounding streets are filled with shops, restaurants, and many gay bars and nightclubs. The Maricel Museum and Cau Ferrat Museum showcase Catalan and other Spanish art.

Sitges is a picturesque coastal town on the Costa Brava. It’s just a half-hour train ride away from Barcelona and it offers some of the best beaches in Spain. Long a haven for artists, it’s now know known as the gay capital of Europe.

Wandering around the old town you’ll find plenty of shops, restaurants and a lot of gay bars. One of the most heartening things about Sitges’ gay scene is how open it is. The bars aren’t hidden away down a back street. They take up much of the town’s centre.

Sitges’ reputation as a gay town is well established in Spain and beyond. The locals are very welcoming.

????La Gamba????

La Gamba or Gambrinus is a sculpture of great proportions designed by the Spanish Javier Mariscal.
Represents a prawn. The work, inaugurated in 1989, began as a claim element for one of the various restaurants in the Moll de la Fusta in Barcelona designed by the architect Alfred Arribas, a friend of Mariscal. When the events of the 1992 Olympic Games ended, several bars and restaurants in the area had to close, including the restaurant that had Mariscal's work. After the closure of the premises and several subsequent litigation, the work remained in the same place, as a property of the Barcelona City Council, and became a popular symbol of the remodeling that the Barcelona coastal area underwent shortly before the Olympic Games. In December 2004 it was restored.

[[SPAIN-BARCELONA]] Walking Avinguda Diagonal to Passeig de Sant Joan

Filmed : 01/06/2020 early evening time using Galaxy A50

Run to Dreta de l'Eixample district through Avinguda Diagonal!!!

▶Please LEAVE A LIKE and SUBSCRIBE for the next Walking Inside !!!^^ ????

Avinguda Diagonal is the name of one of Barcelona's broadest and most important avenues.
It cuts the city in two, diagonally with respect to the grid pattern of the surrounding streets, hence the name.
It was originally projected by engineer and urban planner Ildefons Cerdà as one of the city's wide avenues, which along with Avinguda Meridiana would cut the rationalist grid he designed for l'Eixample (Catalan for extension).
Both would meet at Plaça de les Glòries Catalanes, which Cerdà envisioned as the new city centre.
However, Plaça Catalunya, equally a new addition to the city of Barcelona, and connecting Ciutat Vella and Eixample, and therefore occupying a more privileged position in the urban area, would finally become the centre.
Avinguda Diagonal remains to this day a much-transited avenue and many companies and hotels use it as a privileged location, as can be seen in its architecture.
The avenue starts in the Les Corts district on the western edge of the city and runs to the Sant Martí district on the eastern edge.
To its west, it connects with the Lleida-Madrid highway and Ronda de Dalt in the neighbouring municipality of Esplugues de Llobregat.
To its east, it meets the Ronda del Litoral on the border with the municipality of Sant Adrià de Besòs.
It is consistently 50 metres (160 ft) wide and about 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) long.

????Arc de Triomf????

The Arc de Triomphe (in Catalan: Arc de Triomf) It is a monument located at the confluence between Paseo de Lluís Companys, Paseo de San Juan and Ronda de San Pedro, in the city of Barcelona (Spain). It was designed by the architect José Vilaseca as the main entrance to the Universal Exhibition of Barcelona in 1888. The sculptural decoration was carried out by Josep Reynés, Josep Llimona, Antoni Vilanova, Torquat Tasso, Manuel Fuxá and Pere Carbonell.
This work is inscribed as Cultural Asset of Local Interest (BCIL) in the Inventory of Catalan Cultural Heritage with code 08019 / 1053.

Unlike other triumphal arches with a marked military character, the Arc de Triomphe in Barcelona has a greater civil component, characterized by artistic, scientific and economic progress. The Arc de Triomphe has been used as a goal on occasion for some of the most important popular pedestrian races in Barcelona, such as the Jean Bouin or the Barcelona Marathon. It was also used as a venue for the celebration of festivals and musical events such as Primavera Sound. The monument was restored in 1989.

The Universal Exhibition of Barcelona took place between April 8 and December 9, 1888, and was held in the Ciudadela Park, formerly belonging to the army and cattle for the city in 1851. The incentive of the fair events It led to the improvement of the infrastructures of the entire city, which took a huge leap towards modernization and development.

The entrance to the Exhibition was through the Arc de Triomphe, a monument created for the occasion that still remains in its original place, designed by Josep Vilaseca. This gave access to the Salón de San Juan —currently Lluís Companys promenade—, a long avenue 50 meters wide, where the wrought iron balustrades, the mosaics on the pavement and some large lampposts, all designed by Pere Falqués, stood out. Along this walk eight large bronze statues representing illustrious figures in the history of Catalonia were placed, the work of various sculptors, among whom were the authors of the sculptural decoration of the Arch. This walk ended at the access to the Exhibition site, where the Ciudadela Park is currently located; At this intersection, the monument to Rius and Taulet, the mayor promoter of the Exhibition, was inaugurated in 1901, which currently serves as a counterpoint to the Arc de Triomphe on the other side of the promenade.

Neo-Mudejar-inspired, the Arch is 30 meters high, and is decorated with rich sculptural ornamentation, the work of various authors: Josep Reynés sculpted the Adhesion of the Nations to the Universal Contest on the upper frieze; Josep Llimona made La Recompensa on the reverse of the upper part; on the right side Antoni Vilanova made the allegories of Industry, Agriculture and Commerce; in the left, Torquat Tasso elaborated the allegories to the Sciences and the Arts; Finally, Manuel Fuxá and Pere Carbonell created twelve female sculptures, the Famas, and Magí Fita was in charge of the majolica tiles that decorate the Arch.

The Parc de la Ciutadella (Catalan pronunciation: Citadel Park) is a park on the northeastern edge of Ciutat Vella, Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
For decades following its creation in the mid-19th century, this park was the city's only green space.
The 70-acre (280,000 m2) grounds include the city zoo (once home to the albino gorilla Snowflake, who died in 2003), the Palau del Parlament de Catalunya, a small lake, museums, and a large fountain designed by Josep Fontserè (with possible contributions by the young Antoni Gaudí).
Chegamos numa quinta-feira pelas 11h40.
