Yeongnam Alps Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do
Situated 1,240 meters above sea level, Gajisan Mountain is famous for its beautiful stones and rocky peaks. There are a variety of things to see on the mountain besides the beautiful stones. The delicious strawberries and mountain berries attract many people during the harvest seasons. In the fall, the pampas grass provides a spectacular sight as the whole mountain peak is covered in autumn’s colors. Gajisan Mountain was declared a provincial park in 1979 due to its peaceful scenery, encompassing many cultural assets as well as tourist spots.
Hobakso Pond (호박소) sits on the hillside of the 885 meter-high Mt. Baekunsan (백운산) located in Milyang, Gyeongnam Province. The pond is located at the base of a 10-meter-high waterfall and is named after hobak, a grain-grinding tool. The circumference of the pond is around 30 meters and it is quite deep. In olden days, the pond was a spiritual place where people would pray for rain. Surrounded by white granite rocks, the area is a scenic place of natural beauty, free of any kind of pollution. Visitors can also look around nearby Baengnyeonsa Temple, Hyeongjeso Pond and Ocheonpyeong Rock.
* Eoreumgol (Ice Valley)
Eoreumgol (얼음골), or the Ice Valley, refers to the 30,000 m² valley area that stretches from the 600-meter level to 750-meter level on the northern side of Mt Jaeyak (also known as Mt Cheonhwang). In this mysterious valley, water freezes during the peak of summer and begins to melt around the end of the summer season, but never freezes during the wintertime. Designated as Natural Monument No.224, Eoreumgol is under the official protection of the government.
Sugure Soup & Upo Wetland (Changnyeong-gun Attractions)
Sugure Soup
The sugure meat from beef is a special area under the neck which has a chewy and unique texture and taste. The meat has low cholesterol and therefore is great for soups and various dishes. It is good for anemia, joint problems, and skin health.
Upo Wetland is the largest natural swamps in South Korea that has over 1,000 species living in its murky waters. There are plants as well as various aquatic plants and hydrophytes. It is called as an ‘Ecology Museum’ due to its significant habitat.

Gyo-dong and Songhyeon-dong Tumuli consist of 350 different-sized tombs. The construction started from 5th century and it maintains after annexed by Silla Dynasty, until 7th century. Main burial types are stone-lined tomb with vertical entrance and stone chamber tomb with horizontal entrance, reflecting the general flow of changing burial style in ancient east asia. The stone chamber tombs with long and narrow corridor are distinct feature of the tomb structure of Changnyeong area. Gyo-dong and Songhyeon-dong Tumuli was formed at the edge of the hill extending westwards from Hwawangsan Mountain. The tumuli may have been intentionally positioned for a great view from living area.

| Upo Wetlands |
Upo Wetland is a primitive low bed wetland, which was created about 140 million years ago. When soft ground collapsed, water started to come to a low basin, a lake where dinosaurs lived 100 million years ago. Upo Wetland was formed with the sediments from the mountains brought in by rivers. From the outer edge, the current Upo Wetland is going through a natural alteration and ecological succession from a lake to swamp and from grass-covered plain to a forest. At Upo there are eight famous locations to see fireflies, constellation gazing, and willow groves, but there are many other interesting things to see, too!

'100 Must-Visit Tourist Spots of Korea' is a project that selects 100 excellent representative tourist destinations that Koreans must visit once every two years and promotes them at home and abroad. The tourist destinations listed in the top 100 Korean tourism destinations in Gyeongnam from 2021 to 2022 are Haeinsa Temple in Hapcheon, Hwangmaesan County Park, Upo Wetland in Changnyeong, Germany Village in Namhae, and Hill of Winds in Geoje.

Had the opportunity to take some scenic walks along the coast of South Korea this Winter with my Korean friends.
| Igidae | (이기대)
Igidae Coastal Walk features 4.7 kilometers stretching from Igidae Dongsaengmal to Oryukdo Sunrise Park. The course takes roughly one hour to complete at a leisurely pace. It has beautiful landscape with the forest on one side, the sea on the other.

| Oryukdo | (오륙도)
Oryukdo Island refers to a group of rocky islands off the southern coast of Busan. Depending on the day and the tide, it may appear to be five islands or six islands, hence the name ('o' meaning five and 'yuk' meaning six in Korean). All of the five islands, except the one with the lighthouse, are uninhabited.

| Ganjeolgot | (간절곶 등대)
Ganjeolgot is a park and popular tourist destination in Seosaeng-myeon, Ulju County, Ulsan, South Korea. Every New Year's Eve, people gather at the park for the Ganjeolgot Sunrise Festival. Ganjeolgot is the easternmost part of the Korean Peninsula, so it is where you can see the first sunrise of the year, earlier than anywhere else in Korea.
Ganjeolgot is also home to the world's second-largest mailbox, which was built in 2006. People write their wishes on postcards and put them in the mailbox with the belief that doing this will make their wishes come true.

Travel Vlog ~ Fun Trip to GoSeong (고성) with Funday Korea Networks
This video is a short story from my experiences joined the fun & amazing trip with Funday Korea Network where me and other foreigners colleague got a golden changce to visit GoSeong
First day:
00:45 - We went to the one of the oldest Hangyo Confucianism School, where we learned some of the important things to remember in our life.
The teacher taught us how to be a real Joseon Seonbi (from the Josen Dynasty) and told us the most important eight rules of Confucianism. Such as “Respect your parents, or you will regret it later,” live a good life and many more
04:06 in the evening we enjoyed a traditional music concert inside the school
one of the best part was a night sleepover in a authentic traditional hanok village at Wangok Village! we saw the stars in the sky that we barely see in big city such as Seoul and also we felt the refreshing air combined with the beautiful sceneries.
Second day:
04:45 - Morning from the beautiful Wangok Village
06:17 - We went to visit Gonghyeonjin beach with the beautiful and clear sea and perfect weather to completed my first beach in 2020
06:57 - Last place to visit was the Goseong Unification Observatory, where you can observe the sea and the starting point of Gumgang mountain in North Korea
08:15 - Special shoutout to the committees from Funday Korea Network that already prepared this amazing trip

Part 2 of my Winter excursion to a buddhist temple, a folk village, and beautiful green tea field with my Korean friends in South Korea.
| Ssanggyesa (쌍계사) |
is a head temple of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. The temple was founded in 722 by two disciples. It is located on the southern slopes of Jirisan, southwest of sacred Samshin-bong Peak, in the Hwagye-dong Valley of Hwagae-myeon, Hadong County, in the province of Gyeongsangnam-do, South Korea. It is designated Republic of Korea National Treasure 47. Most of the temple dates to the 17th century or thereafter, because all its buildings were burned to the ground by Japanese invaders during the Seven Year War.

is a Korean fortress in Nagan-myeon, Suncheon, Jeollanamdo, South Korea.
Naganeupseong is the only remaining Joseon Dynasty walled town in Jeollanamdo. It has the old image of a Joseon folk village and fortress, with about 100 houses and government offices. Nowadays, there still are 85 households and 229 people living there. Its biggest features are its narrow stone walls around the fortress and that it is built on the plain fields. It was constructed in 1397 during the rule of Taejo of Joseon, by general Kim Bin-gil after the defeat of the Wokou pirates to protect the area.

this is the most famous green tea plantation farm in Boseong, a popular travel destination in the southern part of Korea. It's the oldest, largest and most beautiful of the area's tea gardens. The fields are a pleasant mix of rows of green tea and beautiful forests. Before you get to the tea fields, you need to walk along a wooden path lined by a running brook and towering Japanese cedar trees. This green tea plantation was also featured in the Korean drama, The Legend of the Blue Sea, starring Jun Ji-hyun and Lee Min-ho.
