There are so many amazing Colombian destinations that makes so difficult to choose which are the top 10 Destinations in Colombia. But here they are:
#10: Cali is the capital of the department Valle del Cauca. To get to Cali you can take a flight from Bogota or transport by land in a six hours-drive from Bogota, but it is worth it because in the world’s salsa capital you will be able to watch a wonderful dance show (Watch full video about Cali:
#9: Salamina is a historical town in Colombia and it is considered a Colombian Heritage Town. It’s a two-hour drive from Manizales and known as the City of Light thanks to all the artists who were born there.
#8: Jardín is another Heritage Town in Colombia. It is surrounded by hills and it is a three-hour drive from Medellín. There you can do some birdwatching (Watch full video about Jardín:
#7: La Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is the highest mountain located in the Colombian Caribbean Coast. There you can find the most amazing sunsets and the great Colombian biodiversity.
#6: The Colombian Pacific Coast is perfect for whale watching and adventure activities in Colombia. There you can also find great beaches and spectacular landscapes that deserves to be visited.
#5: The department of Huila is located at the south of Colombia. It is a half hour-flight from Bogotá. There is the Tatacoa Desert, the Archaeological Park of San Agustín and the Nevado del Huila, the highest mountain in the Colombian Andes. In addition, there is where the Magdalena River born, the largest river in Colombia.
#4: Bogotá is the capital city of Colombia and a central spot; from Bogotá you can go anywhere. La Candelaria is the neighborhood located at Bogota’s Downtown and it is a small reminder of how Bogotá in the past was, thanks to its colonial architecture. Here is where the city was founded on August 6, 1538 and there’s so many places you can visit. There’s a great offer of restaurants, museums, cultural centers, colonial churches and universities.
The main sites of interest are the Marketplace “La Concordia” where you can find a great variety of Colombian fruits and vegetables, the Chorro de Quevedo, a spot for cultural activities and have fun with friends. Then, there’s the Church “Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria”, the one that gives the name to all the neighborhood. Other place is the Plaza de Bolivar, it is the main square where you can find the City Hall, the Congress, the Palace of Justice, and the Cathedral of Bogotá. Other places are the Plaza Santander, Iglesia de San Francisco, the Restaurant “La Puerta Falsa” and the Coffee House “Café Pasaje”.

If you're visiting Bogota but are short on time and have a day or less to see the city - this is the vlog for you! I guide you through the main sights that I believe should make it into your itinerary for a day in Bogota and obviously what to do, where to stay, where to eat etc.
Obviously, this is a huge city with SO much to do and I am aware of the attractions that I didn't cover, but once again - this is how I believe a day here should be spent without rushing around between activities or having to take multiple taxis. I got here by plane and a vaccine is still required, so make sure you have that before entering Colombia.
The local currency is the Colombian peso, the exchange rate with the US Dollar is currently 4700.
The weather here is more fresh, cloudy and cool than in other Colombian cities because of its high altitude so remember to bring a jacket.
It's safe in the central area but you still need to be vigilant and try not to walk around alone / at night in less touristy zones.

I planned to stay 10 days in the city, but I eventually stayed almost 3 weeks. This city totally grasped my heart with his life and its welcoming people! In this video, I'll take you around La Candelaria, the original old colonial barrio where the city was founded in 1538! Lots of things to do and see, lots of History around, so if you are planning your visit to the city give yourself plenty of time to get around and experience this complicated but wonderful place!
