Number 6. Centre Pompidou Málaga,
Málaga boasts the first branch of the Centre Pompidou to be located outside France. The Centre Pompidou is one of the top museums in Paris, renowned for its modern and contemporary art collection.
The Centre Pompidou Málaga displays an assortment (around 80 paintings and photographs) of the prestigious Paris collection. Highlights include works by Picasso, Max Ernst, and Frida Kahlo. The center also presents temporary exhibits every few months.
Málaga's Pompidou Museum: an iconic, colourful cube embedded into Muelle Uno
What sets the Centre Pompidou apart from the other institutions that make up the long list of art galleries in Málaga is its commitment to making modern art accessible to all. In fact, the museum itself makes it clear that its programme is geared towards people who don't visit museums regularly.
The colourful cube is a draw for both strollers and travellers. The 16-metre-high structure is designed as a skylight, filtering the coastal light down into the building below. However, it's merely the tip of the iceberg, a lighthouse drawing in potential visitors.
Number 5. Soho (Art District),
Colorful large-scale street art defines this neighborhood near the Puerto de Málaga (harbor). Some of the murals in Soho were created by internationally known graffiti artists.
A cultural attraction in its own right, Soho is home to the Contemporary Art Center of Málaga and the Teatro Alameda, as well as many art galleries and artists' studios.
On the first Saturday of every month, the neighborhood hosts the Made in Soho Market, which gives visitors a chance to purchase locally crafted artworks.
Number 4. Malaga beaches,
Malaga beaches attract a significant number of tourists each year, especially in the summer months. The golden sand and sparkling sea are among the Spanish city's greatest assets. Playa de la Malagueta is the city's main beach, with restaurants and bars dotted along the sandy shore. However, there are many beaches along this stretch of the Andalusian coastline.

Close to central Malaga is La Caleta, a well-maintained beach popular among locals. For something different, head further to the fishing village of Nerja, which overlooks Burriana Beach. This is a great spot for those looking for a pretty beach and a charming village.
Number 3. Historical Botanical Garden,
Jardín Botánico Histórico La Concepción is considered one of the most alluring and important exotic gardens in Spain. It has a rich history and hosts the largest collection of subtropical plants in Europe. Built in 1855 and originally the private gardens of members of the rising bourgeois class, a family from Bilbao acquired the property in the 20th century.
La Concepción Historical-Botanical Garden was created in the mid-19th century by the Marquis and Marchioness of Loring. These exquisite grounds are filled with vibrant Mediterranean, tropical, and subtropical flora. Plant species found in the gardens come from all over the world.
Number 2. La Malagueta,
La Malagueta is great for a day of relaxation and fun along sandy shores and a seafront promenade. This beautiful palm-lined beach sits between the port of Malaga and La Caleta beach. It has been granted a Blue Flag award for following stringent environmental, educational, safety, and accessibility criteria.

The 1-km stretch of sand has ample space for tourists and residents alike. La Malagueta's onsite facilities include a children's playground and workout areas, as well as sunbeds, umbrellas, and sailing equipment rentals.
Number 1. Malaga Natural Park,
Fancying a ramble or hike? Then you have to get over to Montes de Malaga Natural Park. The whole area is massive and there are loads of trails that crisis crosses the park to follow.
Though be warned, some of the roads can feel a little sketchy at times. Especially the dirt roads. These can get muddy if it rains, so always be cautious of this when driving.
Anyway, as I said, there are heaps of routes (like the Yellow Route) that are perfect for walking, but pretty wide (almost road-like) and great for biking too.

Spain is Europe’s number one destination for beach holidays and here are seven of our top picks.

First up is Playa de las Teresitas, our favourite beach in Tenerife. And one of the best parts is that it’s in the north of Tenerife. This means that it’s much quieter than many of the more popular beaches in the south.

Our top tip here; Bring a picnic as food & drink options are limited.

Cala en Forcat is our favourite beach in Menorca and we loved it so much for its series of small rocky bays.

Our top tip is to bring a snorkel and goggles so you can see all the fish.

Next is Playa del Papagayo right on the southernmost tip of Lanzarote. It took a bit of searching to find this one, but it was well worth the effort. There’s a small restaurant and ancient ruins at the top, then a short climb down to the beach itself.

Top tip; Stay until sunset for the best photos.

Camp de Mar in Mallorca is like most of the beaches here. However, the thing that sets it apart is La Illeta, the restaurant perched on a teeny tiny little island that’s only accessible by a footbridge.

Our top tip? Book ahead as tables are at a premium.

Burriana beach is in Nerja on the Costa del Sol, about an hour’s drive east of Malaga. It’s not as busy as some of the beaches towards Marbella, but still has plenty of facilities and activities. We love Nerja for its rugged landscapes and the fact that Burriana beach is so close to world-class caving and hiking is a real bonus for us.

Our tip; Book a John Keo guided tour for the best hiking in Nerja.

We love Maspalomas in Gran Canaria for the giant sand dunes. Being here feels like you’re lost in a vast desert, it’s really different to anything else you’ll see in the Canary Islands.

Top tip; Bring plenty of water and sunscreen. And maybe a compass.

Barcelona has everything, art, culture, sport, great food, friendly people, some unique architecture and of course, nearly 3 miles of beautiful sandy beaches.

Our top tip here is to try some of the paella. It’s the best you’ll find in the city.

So those were our top 7 beaches, for more on Spain be sure to check out our guides for all the destinations we’ve talked about in this video. And of course, don’t forget to subscribe for new content from the studio every single week.

Places to see in ( Andalusia - Spain ) Burriana Beach

Places to see in ( Andalusia - Spain ) Burriana Beach

Burriana is the most popular and prettiest sandy beach in Nerja with clear water and superb facilities. Burriana beach, or Playa Burriana, is a large, sandy beach situated at the eastern end of town and is Nerja’s premier bathing location.

Playa Burriana has, until 2014, been a regular recipient of the prestigious ‘Blue Flag’ of excellence, awarded by the European Union, and the ‘Q for Quality’ flag issued by the Spanish authorities.
In 2014, no beaches in Nerja were eligible for consideration for the ‘Blue Flags’ due to the lack of a water treatment plant.

It is a modern area, almost a separate village or resort in many ways, with just about every conceivable facility available to the thousands of visitors, both Spanish and foreign, who flock here every year. The main vehicular access to Burriana beach is via calle Filipinas, a long, steep hill leading down from Avenida de Pescia and known locally as ‘Cardiac Hill’.

( Andalusia - Spain ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Andalusia . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Andalusia - Spain

Things to do in Nerja in Spain!

Here is our top 10, enjoy!

Nerja: A Hidden Gem on the Costa del Sol

Nerja is a small coastal town located in the province of Malaga in southern Spain. It is known for its beautiful beaches, stunning scenery, and rich history. Despite its popularity among tourists, Nerja remains a relatively undiscovered gem on the Costa del Sol. In this essay, we will explore the history, culture, and attractions of Nerja, and discover why it is a must-visit destination for anyone traveling to the south of Spain.

Historical Overview:

The history of Nerja dates back to the Neolithic period, and the area has been inhabited by various civilizations over the centuries. The town was founded by the Phoenicians and later became an important Roman settlement. During the Muslim period, Nerja was known as Narixa and was an important center of trade and agriculture.

In the 16th century, Nerja was incorporated into the Kingdom of Castile, and it became a center of olive oil production. During the Spanish Civil War, the town was heavily bombarded by the Nationalist forces, and many of its historic buildings were destroyed.

Culture and Traditions:

The culture of Nerja is deeply rooted in its history and traditions. The town is known for its vibrant festivals and cultural events, including the Feria de Nerja, which takes place in October, and the Semana Santa, which is celebrated in April.

The Feria de Nerja is a colorful and lively festival that celebrates the town's heritage and culture. The festival features parades, music, dancing, and traditional dress, and it is one of the most important cultural events in the town.

The Semana Santa is a religious festival that commemorates the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The festival is celebrated throughout Spain, but Nerja's Semana Santa is particularly special. The festival features processions, music, and traditional dress, and it is a beautiful and meaningful tribute to the town's Christian heritage.

Another important tradition in Nerja is the making of traditional Andalusian dishes, such as paella, gazpacho, and pescaíto frito. These dishes are made with fresh, local ingredients and reflect the rich culinary heritage of the region.

Attractions:

Nerja has a wealth of attractions to offer visitors, from beautiful beaches to stunning natural scenery. The town's historic center, known as the Barrio Antiguo, is a maze of narrow streets, plazas, and alleyways. It is home to some of the town's most important landmarks, including the Balcony of Europe, the Nerja Caves, and the Church of El Salvador.

The Balcony of Europe is perhaps the most important landmark in Nerja, and it offers stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea and the town's coastline. The balcony was built in the 19th century and is named after King Alfonso XII, who visited the town after an earthquake destroyed much of its coastline.

The Nerja Caves are a series of underground caverns that were discovered in 1959. The caves are home to some of the most impressive stalactites and stalagmites in the world, and they offer visitors a unique and unforgettable experience.

The Church of El Salvador is a beautiful church that was built in the 17th century. The church features stunning Baroque architecture, and it is one of the most important landmarks in the town.

Finally, Nerja is known for its beautiful beaches, including the Burriana Beach, the Playa de la Torrecilla, and the Playa del Salon. These beaches offer visitors a chance to relax and enjoy the Mediterranean sun and sea, and they are some of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa del Sol.
