MURCIA Spain - Exploring The Region Of Murcia, Lorca, Archena And La Manga Del Mar Menor

On this trip, we explore Murcia, the historic region of Spain and its coastline, the Costa Calida on the Southeast of Spain.

Just an hour from Alicante airport was our first stop in the Region of Murcia, Archena. The town of Archena is home to a hot water mineral spa dating back to Roman times.

Next, it’s off to the city of Murcia itself, the capital of the region. In Murcia, we visit the Santa Clara Monastery the Real Casino with its English library and elegant Viennese Ballroom and the impressive Cathedral de Santa Maria with its grand baroque facade.

In the historic town of Lorca, we visit the Museo Azul de la Semana Santa MASS and the Museo de Bordados del Paso Blanco MUBBLA
These two museums are full of ornate embroideries which are used in the Lorca Holy Week parades.

When you are in #Murcia you should also visit the Calblanque Regional Park one of the last unspoilt areas on the Mediterranean coast and nearby Cabo de Palos with its lighthouse.

If you want to look 10 years young try the Mar Menor mud baths, I don’t think it worked for me!

We end the day on a boat cruise leaving from La Manga del Mar Menor and cruising past the five islands of the Mar Menor which is a coastal saltwater lagoon.

Murcia also has some excellent wine and on the last day, we take a trip to one of the highest areas of Murcia, Bullas where they make some excellent wine.

Tiny Tour | Murcia Spain | Driving in the Capital city of Murcia | 2021 Oct

Murcia is the capital city of the autonomous community of the Region of Murcia, and the seventh largest city in the country. Murcia was founded by the emir of Cordoba Abd ar-Rahman II in 825 with the name Mursiyah (Arabic: مرسية). It is now mainly a services city and a university town.

The city, as the capital of the comarca Huerta de Murcia is called Europe's orchard due to its long agricultural tradition and its fruit, vegetable, and flower production and exports.

Traditionally, the municipality of Murcia was an important producer of agricultural raw materials thanks to its fertile and millennial orchard. During the first half of the 20th century, its agriculture became specialized and intensive, allowing its products to be marketed in international markets, something that intensified in the 1950s and 1960s.

Visiting, walk & Fly through the Beautiful city of MURCIA Spain ???????? - (4K) Tiny Tour

Murcia is a city and municipality in southeastern Spain. It is the capital of the Murcia region. It the seventh city of Spain. The city was founded between 830 and 840, during Moorish rule, on the River Segura by the Caliph of the Córdoba Caliphate, Abd al-Rahman II.

After the Reconquista at the end of the 13th century, the city was the residence of King Alfonso X of Castile, who granted the city many privileges. This ensured the growth of the city, which reached its peak in the 15th century with the construction of important irrigation systems in the huerta, the orchards for which Murcia is famous. The crafts that flourished in the 15th century give their name to the streets in the old centre. #murcia #4kvideo #spain #andalucia

Places to see in ( Murcia - Spain ) Calasparra

Calasparra is a municipality in the autonomous community of Murcia, Spain. Calasparra has an area of 193 km² and a population of 9,700 (2004). Between 2004 and 2006 more than 2,000 British immigrants bought new homes off-plan, built on 3 new urbanisations surrounding the town, with more purchasing country homes.

Calasparra is situated in a mountainous region (400m) in the northwest of the province of Murcia. In contrast to the surrounding arid terrain, Calasparra benefits from being crossed by four rivers, including the Segura.

This has enabled the cultivation of Calasparra rice, for which the town is noted, and dates back to the 14th century. The population is predominantly Spanish, but other nationalities can be found here, particularly Moroccans and English.
