Episode 9, Season 2 of Reveal New Zealand and we're checking out some Marlborough Wineries! Marlborough wine is world renown so we're in Blenheim tasting our way around some vineyards...✪ Take a look at campervan options for your trip here —
New Zealand is known for it's incredible wine and Marlborough is New Zealand's largest wine growing region — so you know we had to spend a few days in Blenheim to check it out for ourselves. There's over 30,000 hectares of vines in Marlborough, loads of vineyards and more than 30 different cellar doors. So if visiting wineries is your thing, this is the spot for it!
First spot was Yealands for a picnic and bottle of Pinot Gris with a bunch of chickens (and the odd duck). Then we jumped on some bikes and got a sweat up on our way to some other Blenheim vineyards, too many to film and so many incredible cellar door options. This was without a doubt our favourite way to explore the region and finally see these Marlborough wineries we've heard so much about.

Blenheim is the largest town in the Marlborough wine growing region in the northeast of the South Island of New Zealand.
Blenheim is always in the hunt for the title of New Zealand's sunniest town but is often pipped at the post by its close neighbour Nelson. In its town centre, you’ll find an array of cafes, restaurants, wineries, bars, shops, artisan food outlets and golf courses along with popular walkways along the Taylor River Reserve. Blenheim, New Zealand | 4K Walking Tour
Blenheim is the most populous town in the region of Marlborough, in the north east of the South Island of New Zealand. It has an urban population of 28,800 (June 2021). The surrounding Marlborough wine region is well known as the centre of the New Zealand wine industry. It enjoys one of New Zealand's sunniest climates, with warm, relatively dry summers and cool, crisp winters.
Blenheim is named after the Battle of Blenheim (1704), where troops led by John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough defeated a combined French and Bavarian force.

Marlborough - Blenheim, a place to linger
No Longer is Blenheim the quick one night stop off between Wellington and Christchurch, but can boast it is a top destination for both domestic and international travellers, just located 27km south of Picton in the north east of the South Island of New Zealand it is the centre of the Marlborough region, one of the sunniest places in the country and an ideal base to follow the Marlborough Wine Trail. Enjoy gourmet food, visit historical attractions, check out exciting sights and experience amazing adventure activities.
Blenheim is an attractive town with so much more than just great wine, from vibrant gardens and a lively town centre, many stunning parks and gardens, charming cafes and restaurants, a crystal clear river and sunny open spaces.
Marlborough is New Zealand's premier wine growing region with most wineries scattered around the Blenheim/Renwick area and Sauvignon Blanc is the specialty here. Follow the wine trail by hiring a bike and cycling around the vineyards or join an organized wine tour and let someone else drive you to drink!
