Today is my first day in The Republic of Uzbekistan and I am being treated like a Celebrity by the local people of Uzbekistan.

In this video, along with my Host Nasiba, who is an English Teacher in a Russian School located in the small town of Besharik, located near the Kokand city of Fergana Valley. I thought of going just to see the school which eventually turns out to be myself being treated as a chief guest at a big public school.

I had deep long conversation as well as mentoring session with the students as well as teachers of the school. Also, the students gave me warm welcome by singing songs for me. Nurota was founded as the ancient town Nur, in 327 BC by Alexander the Great. The remains of his military fortress in the south of the town are still to be seen today and the water supply system that Alexander had installed is still partially used.
The fortress consisted of several parts, with Shahristan (the inner town) 500×500 meters in size, which was surrounded at that with a large wall and towers. The construction of a fortress at Nurota had a definite purpose, as the town was set in a strategic place at the border between an agricultural area and a wild steppe. This area is mentioned in several historical chronicles as an important strategic area convenient for gathering an army before attacking neighboring lands and as a place of refuge for rebels and outcasts.
The town is also famous as a Muslim pilgrimage place. Muhammad Narshakhi, who wrote about the history of Bukhara in 943, provides information about the settlement Nur, located at the foot of the mountain. Narshakhi wrote” many people, who are buried there, have seen Prophet Muhammad”. During the 10th century, pilgrims from Bukhara and other places came to the holy graves situated next to the town fortifications and mosques. Currently, pilgrims continue visiting the holy places. Chashma is a place of pilgrimage of believers and one of the most significant religious centers of Islam in the region. The complex of religious constructions “Chasma” (Tadjik word for spring) includes the spring, a well, mosque “Djuma” and khamom (bathhouse). The round Djuma mosque was constructed above the spring and has 40 columns. The dome, 16 meters in diameter is one of the largest in the Central Asia . On the south-east part of the complex is a Nur-ata cemetery with the burial place of the saint person.
The construction of Kariz, a unique underground water-pipeline system near Nurota, is also connected with the name of the Alexander the Great. Kariz is an ancient water-pipe laid from the source of the spring water to a place where it could be used. Its length could reach several kilometers. Interconnected wells that were dug out in several meters apart from each other, were used for the cleaning the pipeline system. Today the process of reviving these old pipeline systems is taking place. Parts of the pipeline systems near Nurota were restored and being used by local people.

Ko‘klam kunlarida ko‘pchilik tabiat qo‘yniga chiqishga, yozda esa salqin go‘shalarga oshiqadi. “Manzil” loyihasi shunday joylardan yana biri – Namanganning Pop tumanidagi Guliston mahallasida bo‘ldi. Tog‘lar bag‘rida, to‘lib oqadigan soy bo‘yida joylashgan qishloq nafaqat tabiati, balki ekstremal atraksionlari bilan ham keluvchilarning ko‘nglini oladi.

Axsikat, Axsikent is the ruins of an ancient city . It is located in the village of Shahand , Turakurgan district , Namangan region , on the right bank of the Syr Darya . According to historical data, the city of A. was founded in the 3rd - 2nd centuries BC , and in the 9th - 10th centuries it was the capital of the Fergana Valley . It was completely destroyed in an earthquake in 1621 . Archaeological excavations of A. began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. 1885 NI Veselovskip , 1914 IA Kastane excavation and conducted searches. During the Soviet era, M. Ye. Investigated by Massoy (1939) and AN Bernstam (1948). Archaeological excavations have revealed that A. consisted of an arch , shahristan and rabod , all three parts of the city were surrounded by separate walls , the ark contained a governor 's palace , a prison , an inner bazaar in Shahristan , a mosque , a brick pool and canals , a craft mahalla andthe market was found to be present. A. It was also studied by the staff of the Namangan Museum of Local Lore (1957-59). In 1960, a special expedition organized by the Institute of History and Archeology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan discovered the site of an ancient bathhouse dating back to the 11th century . Pottery , pipes , coins and glassware were found there . In addition , there are other medieval city ruins to the west of A. 's ruins . Academic Ya. F. Gulomovand archaeologist I. Akhrorov were the first to prove that there were 820 cities of different periods, one of which was the ancient A. and the other the Akhsi, where Babur was born. In 1967, the artist IA Smirnov A. presented to the State Museum of Oriental Peoples in Moscow a collection of pottery, copperware and ornaments collected from the ruins. The monument has been under state protection since 1950 due to its important place in the history of Uzbek culture.The city consisted of the Ark, the inner and outer city. Crafts such as glass-making, pottery, blacksmithing, and armaments were developed here. By the 1620s, the city was devastated by an earthquake.
