Benavente es una de las localidades más importantes de la provincia de Zamora, también es la más comercial, ya que su posición estratégica la convierte en el mayor nudo logístico y estratégico del noroeste de España, motivo por el que cuenta con un gran centro de transportes y extenso polígono industrial. Pero Benavente también merece una visita turística.
Nuestro recorrido comenzó en la Plaza Mayor, donde se encuentra el ayuntamiento y la Oficina de Turismo. Cabe destacar el Castillo de la Mota, lugar presidido por su espectacular Torre del Caracol y el Parador de Turismo y los jardines que lo rodean con magníficas vistas a la fértil vega regada por los ríos Órbigo y Esla. Joya de primer orden es la iglesia de Santa María del Azogue, situada en el centro de la ciudad, es de estilo románico con sus hermosos cinco ábsides. De más o menos la misma época es San Juan del Mercado, también románica con tres artísticos ábsides y gran presencia iconográfica.
También merece la pena ver el Hospital de Peregrinos de la Piedad, fundado por Alonso de Pimentel como hospital de peregrinos. La fachada es una bella muestra del renacimiento.
Benavente is one of the most important towns in the province of Zamora, it is also the most commercial, since its strategic position makes it the largest logistics and strategic hub in northwestern Spain, which is why it has a large transport center and extensive industrial estate.

Our tour started in the Plaza Mayor, where the town hall and the Tourist Office are located. ???? Que ver en PUEBLA DE SANABRIA en un día (ZAMORA) ???? [Pueblos más bonitos de España] ????
Puebla de Sanabria, Zamora. Su castillo ????, sus iglesias ⛪ y MUCHO MÁS ????.
Descripción:
El día 15 de Octubre teníamos un par de rutas guiadas por el norte de Zamora y se nos ocurrió que estaría genial mostrar un vídeo sobre qué ver en Puebla de Sanabria, Zamora, ya que era una de nuestras paradas ese día.
Podremos ver y visitar Puebla de Sanabria y descubrir lugares tan singulares como el famoso e imponente Castillo de los condes de Benavente, pasando por la plaza mayor, donde podremos ver el ayuntamiento de Puebla de Sanabria o la iglesia de Santa María del Azogue.
Junto a la iglesia, se encuentra la ermita de San Cayetano, la cual es complicado ver sin una visita guiada, ya que se abre pocas veces al año. En esta ermita se encuentra el cristo de Pincha Tajadas, cuya historia y tradición contamos en el vídeo y es de lo más curiosa.
Otro de sus lugares de culto es el Convento Iglesia de San Francisco, que se encuentra en la zona baja del pueblo (Barrio de San Francisco). Es complicado que podáis acceder al claustro salvo que visitéis el pueblo un día lectivo por la mañana.
No puedes irte de aquí sin antes visitar el museo de gigantes y cabezudos de Puebla de Sanabria. Es pequeñito, pero merece la pena pasar unos minutos viendo esta pequeña parte de la tradición de Sanabria. Además, la entrada está incluida con la del castillo.
Por supuesto, también hay que mencionar todo el casco histórico de Puebla de Sanabria donde podrás recorrer sus calles empedradas, verás casas blasonadas, otras con balcones preciosos, sus tejados de pizarra y, si vas en época de frío, sus chimeneas humeantes. Es considerado uno de los pueblos más bonitos de España.
Por último, siempre aconsejamos visitar la estación de tren de Puebla de Sanabria. Se encuentra a las afueras del pueblo, pero merece mucho la pena, ya que es considerada una de las estaciones de tren más bonitas de España.

Off the ferry boat on time and heading to my hotel for the night in the sleepy town of Benavente, taking in some of the C182, the C281 and the C627, if you’re looking for smooth tarmac with nice predictable bends, then these aren’t the roads for you, twisty, bumpy and uneven, with the occasional rockfall thrown in to keep you on your toes, proper adventure biking roads.

Plaza Mayor is really huge and one of the most visited squares in Madrid. It is a great starting point for your city tour. Within walking distance is the magnificent Palacio Real, the Royal Palace. The building itself looks like a masterpiece. With about 2000 rooms, it is also one of the largest royal palaces in Europe.
For a view over the city of Madrid from above, we recommend the Riu Hotel at Plaza de Espana. It has 27 floors and at the top there is a rooftop bar. From the hotel you can walk along Gran Via. It is the famous shopping street of Madrid.
Halfway down, you can go into Chueca neighborhood. Madrid is a very tolerant city. Especially in Chueca there are many stores and bars of the LGBTIQ+ community.
You can relax from the hustle and bustle of the city in the Parque del Retiro. It is the most beautiful park in Madrid. Nearby is also the world famous Museo del Prado. Also super famous is the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu. The Real Madrid stadium. It is best to book your tour in advance.
