Panjnad Headworks is located in Punjab, Pakistan. It is an agricultural area near Uchh, Bahawalpur and it is where all the five rivers of Punjab merge.Panjnad Headworks or Panjnad barrage has three canals: Panjnad canal, Abbassia canal, and Abbassia link canal. In 2020 head punjnad barrage remodelling done to increase it water passing capacity for semi-automatic control of gates. These canals irrigate Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan districts and the northern Sindh area.

Sadiq Garh Palace: Most Beautiful Abandoned Chateau in Bahawalpur, Pakistan #shorts
Sadiq Garh Palace
Regal and majestic, the three-storey heritage palace epitomises the classic silhouette of a fairytale castle. Situated on 125 acres of land on the outskirts of Dera Nawab Sahib in a town in Ahmadpur East tehsil of Bahawalpur, a former princely state that merged into Pakistan in 1955. The majestic property was constructed by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan (IV) in 1882 and while it has been abandoned for last 3 decades, still retains many of its striking original features. With 120 rooms the palace boasts almost 40,000 square feet of inside space in need of rescue.
With its grand domes, stately entrances and beautiful courtyards, it's hard to understand how this exquisite palace ended up deserted by the Nawabs. Shrouded in mystery and left to weather the sands of time, this abandoned stately building is hiding a treasure trove of secrets within its eerie walls. The Viceroy of India Lord Mountbatten, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Shah Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi were among the prominent leaders who once stayed at this white palace as the guests of the nawab.
In view of the country's burgeoning tourist trade, the need to conserve this crumbling heritage site has now become all the more pronounced. The three-storey palace may either be given to Army Authorities for its conservation on the lines of Noor, Gulzar and Darbar Mahals or to the Agha Khan Trust for its reuse as a luxury hotel. This site possesses immense tourism potential being close to Derawar Fort and the Lal Suhanra National Park. Nonetheless, across India, many other former royal households and stately buildings have opened up in a similar way. The most gorgeous and regal palaces and forts that have been turned into luxury hotels are: Umaid Bhawan, Rambagh, Udaipur Bilas, Deogarh, City Palace and Fort Rajwada.

The Gulzar Mahal, one of the most famous palaces and the favorite tourist attraction of Bahawalpur in the province of Punjab of our beautiful homeland Pakistan. It was built between 1906 and 1909. It was commissioned during the reign of Sadeq Mohammad Khan V, and was built to be the residence for women members of the royal household of the former princely state of Bahawalpur, aside from the Queen.
The palace lies in the Bahawalgarh Palace Complex, next to the palaces of Darbar Mahal, Farrukh Mahal, and Nishat Mahal, and encircled by a vast garden.
The palace, which cost Rs 1.2 million to build, was finished in 1875. It has a total surface area of 44,600 square feet. There are 32 rooms in total, 14 of which are in the basement, as well as 6 verandas and 5 domes.
Gulzar Mahal’s architecture and interior show a significant mix of Italian and Indo-Saracenic architectural influences. The buildings curved edges and four round domes placed majestically above circular towers that give Gulzar Mahal its own distinct identity. Both inside and out, there are lots of Stone pillars. Gulzar Mahal, like Darbar Mahal, is now preserved and used by the army’s administrative branch. As a result, only the main hall and a handful of the guest rooms are open to the public.
