???????? Where to stay in Istanbul Part 1? Don't stay by the Blue Mosque!

IMPORTANT: This video is just a guide, I don't know if everybody has the same thoughts as me so please do your own research. I prefer the asian side because it's less touristy. However there is nothing there for tourists, it depends if you want to see sights or just take in Istanbul like a local.

In this video i will describe the areas around central Istanbul and give you tips on where to stay. I suggest not staying in Sultan Ahmet like most tourists. The area is beautiful but the food is bad and expensive and everything has tourist prices. Staying there for a few days is fine, but not more than that.

Istanbul Turkey Bağcılar 18 May 2022 Walking Tour | 4K UHD 60FPS | City Center

Bağcılar is a unique district with its demographic structure, atmosphere plus social and cultural life. If you look carefully, you will see that Bağcılar presents the mosaic structure of Turkey. People from various backgrounds meets in a suburb, in the middle of Istanbul, revealing one of the most crowded district of Istanbul with the population of 750,000 people.
Bağcılar was a small village before 1980s. After its original residents had left, housing in Bağcılar was out of control due to huge migration wave from different parts of Anatolia. Too many buildings, mostly illegal due to application of minimal regulations, appeared in a very short time. Consequently, Bağcılar broadened in an unplanned way which can be given as a good example for the failure of urban planning.
This district had been discarded for a long time. Only investment came from greedy textile bosses who are looking for cheap labour. Numerous small outfit factories opened and residents worked for a little amount of money. Eventually, this brutal business didn’t work well as it couldn’t compete with Merter where the professional and corporate textile centre of Istanbul had already been developed.
After a long time, Bağcılar started to get investment and local council started to work harder. Today, the district is hosting a very large second-hand car market, trucking companies, textile factories and biggest newspaper and TV channels.

Istanbul Bağcılar Walking Tour | İstanbul Bağcılar Yürüyüşü 4K (2022)
Subscribe:

Bağcılar is a district located on the European side of Istanbul. The district is located near the city centre, just north of Bahçelievler, between the two major ring roads, TEM and D100 (formerly E5). The district is the third most populous in the Istanbul Municipality. Bağcılar developed rapidly between the 1970s and 1990s and is primarily residential in nature. Bağcılar has a population of 744,351 in 2021. The neighborhood is served by the Istanbul Metro and the T1 line of the Istanbul Tram.[citation needed] The mayor is Abdullah Özdemir from the Justice and Development Party (Turkey).
Etymology
The name Bağcılar was given due to the abundance of vineyards. The name bağcılar means vine growers in Turkish. The district used to be known as Yeşilbağ, which translates to green vineyard. The name was changed to Yeşilbağ when Bağcılar became a town and the name Bağcılar was given again when Bağcılar became a district. The old name of Bagcilar, which was largely populated by non-Muslim people in the Ottoman period, was Çıfıtburgaz (Yahudburgaz).

History
Ottoman Period Bağcılar
The area of Bağcılar encompassed sparsely populated countryside during the time of the Ottoman Empire until the time of the founding of the Republic of Turkey. Young Osman constructed a mosque approximately 400 years ago in an area which is today the center of the district.[4] There is a second 400-year-old mosque built by Young Osman which is located on the border of neighboring Güngören.

Archeological teams and builders have been known to discover historical artifacts while working in Bağcılar. There are aqueducts located in the military area of the Bağcılar district which were once in charge of meeting the water needs of Istanbul. One of the oldest historical structures in Bağcılar is the historical fountain located in the Mahmutbey neighborhood. These fountains were built by the Ottoman sultans in various parts of Istanbul at the time.

Republican Era Bağcılar
Nearer to the Turkish War of Independence, Bağcılar was one of the villages of Mahmutbey where the Greek population lived during the Ottoman period. This population worked in the areas lush vineyards.

A street in Bağcılar Parseller district
Urbanization rapidly spread to other parts of Bağcılar causing a redrawing of maps which created the separate urban district of Bakırköy. Bağcılar continues to be known as a district known for rapid population growth and poor or informal urban planning. The presence of informally built apartment blocks remains a major concern for planning officials due to Istanbul's high earthquake risk.[3] In an attempt to reduce the risk of a mass casualty event as a result of a major earthquake, the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has undertaken several major housing development initiatives.[8] In 1989, the M1 line of the Istanbul Metro was extended to and terminates at Bağcılar. Later in 1992, the Istanbul Tram was extended to Bağcılar Square. The area is also extensively served by Istanbul's bus system.

Culture
People under the age of 22 make up 33% of the population in Bağcılar. Despite having a high primary school enrollment rate, there remains a persistent shortage of school capacity as there are many immigrant families who are not registered to live in Turkey. There are 118,250 students in primary and high schools in Bağcılar. Altınbaş University is located in Bağcılar. There is a public library near the Mahmutbey (Istanbul Metro) station. In addition to this facility, smaller libraries have been established in 22 neighborhoods of the district. There are a total of 16 Information Houses, the first of which was opened in 2008, that can support the education of children between the ages of 8 and 14.

Istanbul Bağcılar Neighbourhood (Bağcılar Meydan)| Walking Tour 16 October 2021 |4k UHD 60fps

Bağcılar is a working class suburban district of Istanbul, Turkey. It is located behind Bahçelievler on the European side of the city, between the two major ring roads, the TEM and the D100 (once officially E5). The mayor is Lokman Çağırıcı (AKP).

Sparsely populated countryside at the time of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, bağcılar means vine growers in Turkish and the district was formerly known as Yeşilbağ (Green Vineyard in Turkish).

Bağcılar also houses a great deal of industry, particularly light engineering, textiles, printing (Bağcılar is home to all the biggest of Turkey's newspapers and TV channels), a huge wholesale market for dry goods, a large second-hand car market, and many trucking companies, particularly along the Gunesli link road from the TEM motorway to Istanbul airport. A metro is being built which is hoped will ease the constant stream of slowly circulating traffic.

Public Transportation
Bağcılar is one of the most developed districts in Istanbul in terms of public transportation. It is connected to Yenikapı by the M1ʙ subway line. Moreover, the T1 tram line starts from Bağcılar to Kabataş. Beside them, the district has several bus options as well.

Best Places To Shop In Istanbul Turkey | Nişantaşı District Rainy Walking Tour In 4K |11JANUARY 2022

Nisantasi is one of Istanbul's most wealthy neighborhoods, and also this place is quite a well known cornerstone of Istanbul in terms of shopping and fashion. Everyone goes to Nisantasi for a certain reason. That reason may be fashion or entertainment or something like that.
Four avenues forms Nisantasi mainly: Rumeli Avenue, Tesvikiye Avenue, Valikonagi Avenue, and Abdi İpekci Avenue. Abdi İpekci Street is regarded as the center and the heart of the neighborhood. It has so many boutiques and cafes and you had better not only see those cafes but eat in them. Tesvikiye Street which is located on the other side includes more traditional products and it is mostly possible to see Turkish labels there.
As soon as you arrive, you will notice that the streets are actually lines with several famous designer label stores. Ranging from Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Louis Vuitton, Salvatore Ferragamo, Gucci, Emporio Armani, Zara, Marks and Spencers, and H&M, you can find a variety of fashionable clothing for every budget. Still, shops owned by Turkish top designers are worth a visit. For a complete experience, do not forget to stop by Beymen, the local shopping Mecca which carries world-class brands as well as its own collections.

How to go from ISTANBUL to BURSA - CHEAPEST & QUICKEST WAY! // TAKSIM SQUARE to BURSA OSMANGAZI

How to go from ISTANBUL to BURSA - CHEAPEST & QUICKEST WAY! TAKSIM SQUARE to BURSA OSMANGAZI

In this video, I show you how you can easily travel from Istanbul to Bursa in the cheapest and quickest way! We start our journey from Taksim Square in Istanbul and use the metro and tram service to reach the Bursa BUDO ferry port in Eminonu, then after taking the BUDO ferry to Bursa, we show how you can reach the Bursa Metro and travel to Osmangazi or anywhere within this fabulous city. You can easily do a day trip from Istanbul to Bursa using public transport in Turkey. The entire trip one-way can be done in under 60 Turkish lira, which is incredibly affordable, comfortable and quick too. The ferry tickets from Istanbul to Bursa cost just 39 Turkish Lira (TL). The Istanbul Metro tickets cost 6 TL and the Bursa Metro ticket was the same.

If you have questions such as: How do I travel from Istanbul to Bursa without a car? Then look no further. We have previously used a coach to travel from Istanbul to Bursa which was a good experience too, however, we prefer the ferry as it is much quicker, cheaper, super comfortable and you get incredible views of the Bosphorus. The Bursa ferry has a small cafe where you can buy tea, coffee, juices, toasted sandwiches, and many other refreshments. There is also sufficient leg space, as well as toilets and no traffic delays (as opposed to traveling by coach or car). Hence, traveling to Bursa using the ferry is the number one choice for us.

We show you how to get to Osmangazi, which is the historical city in Bursa, however, you can also go to many other amazing places within Bursa including the Uludağ mountain where you can go up via the teleferik (cable car). You can watch my video where I went on the Uludag teleferik over here: and another video where I went Skiing in Uludağ over here:
