Kayseri is a large and industrialized city in Central Anatolia, Turkey. It is the seat of Kayseri Province. The city of Kayseri, as defined by the boundaries of Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, is structurally composed of five metropolitan districts, the two core districts of Kocasinan and Melikgazi, and since 2004, also Hacilar, Incesu and Talas.
Kayseri, Türkiye'nin bir ili ve en kalabalik 15. şehridir. 2014 yili itibari ile 1.322.376 nüfusa sahiptir. Oradaki gezimden sonra ise Türkiye'nin Yunanistan ve Bulgaristan'a sınır olan Edirne şehrimizde ki gezilecek yerleri ziyaret ediyorum bu bölümde. Kayseri was also on the Silk Route and Karatay and Sultanhanı posts on this route reside in Bünyan town's borders. Bünyan is also famous for its carpets which makes Kayseri a popular purchase-stop for tourists visiting Cappadocia.

Turkish Airlines and Pegasus Airlines have daily flights from Istanbul to Kayseri. Sun Express airlines has daily flights from Izmir and from Antalya to Kayseri.
Beside the domestic flights there are also direct international flights to Düsseldorf, Stuttgart, Vienna by Pegasus, Onur and Oger respectively.
By train
Trains run daily from Ankara to Kayseri, taking 7 hours. There are couchettes and a sleeping car; some trains have a buffet. They continue east to Sivas then, depending on the day of the week:
via Malatya and Elazig to Tatvan (the Vangölü Express), with dolmus connections to Van, for the train to Tabriz and Tehran.
via Malatya to Diyarbakir and Kurtalan (the Guney Kurtalan Express);
via Erzurum to Kars (the Dogu Express)
Eat
Kayseri Mantısı is the most famous dish Kayseri is known for. It's made from minced meat, wrapped in tiny bits of dough and boiled. It's served with a special sauce and yogurt. It's pretty difficult to find a restaurant to eat it as locals always eat this at home and they are prepared much better. However, Kaşık-la has now established a well deserved name in the city also for locals and if you can't get a local to invite you home, is definitely worth trying.
Pastırma is Kayseri's another well-known product. It's dried, salted beef covered with çemen, prepared by a special process. Pastırma is served both as a spicy starter or used in dishes (e.g. in pastırmalı kuru fasulye) or böreks. Kayseri is the major source of production in Turkey. If cannot afford the restaurants, try buying 100 grams from a large supermarket or from old shops in the old shopping district behind the castle (Kale).
İskender is a kebap variant, named after its inventor (Turkish variant of Alexander). Its meat is prepared similar to that of döner, but is served in dish, and with a butter sauce on the top. Although others come quite close, a local restaurant called İskender is the best place to eat this, and is located on the opposite side of Hunat Hatun Camii

Hunat Hatun Camii is the most famous mosque in the city that dates back to Seljuks. Seljuks have also left a number of schools (medrese), tombs (kumbet), and hospitals in the city.
Mount Erciyes is the 5th highest mountain (3916 m) in Turkey and a popular domestic skiing location. Nowadays, foreign tourists have also started to visit the location. Erciyes Ski Center is 25 km. from the city center.

Kayseri'nin kendine has tarihi dokusu ve birçok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmış ilçelerinde kısa bir gezintiye çıkıyoruz.
Roma, Bizans, Selçuklu ve Osmanlı döneminden izler taşıyan, Ali Dağı'nın eteklerine kurulu 2 bin yıllık yerleşim yeri olan mistik ilçe Talas, farklı kültürleri günümüzde de bir arada yaşatıyor. Tarih boyunca Mazaka, Tabal, Kilikya, Kapadokya, Med, Pers, Kayrus, Roma, Bizans, Danışment, Selçuklu ile Osmanlı gibi onlarca medeniyeti bünyesinde barındıran ve farklı din ve kültürden insanların buluşma noktası olan bu ilçe, geçmişten bugüne taşıdığı izlerle bizleri tarihi bir yolculuğa çıkarıyor.
1886'da inşa edilen Patanya Rum Kilisesi 1925 tarihinde camii olarak yeniden restore ediliyor ve günümüze kadar korunmayı başarabilmiş.
Erciyes'in eteklerine kadar uzanan uçsuz bucaksız ovaları binlerce manda ve yüzlerce vahşi yılkı atlarına ev sahipliği yapan muhteşem bir köy, Hürmetçi.
Yeşil alanları ve akarsuyu ile hem yöre halkına hem de bölgedeki hayvanlara ev sahipliği yapan doğal bir ortam. Yılkı atlarını görmeye gittik ancak son birkaç yıldır devam eden popüleriteleri sebebi ile doğal ortamlarından ayrı fotoğraf tutukunları için koşturulmaları hoşumuza gitmediği için videomuzda yer vermedik.

達達尼爾海峽，土耳其稱恰納卡萊海峽，古稱赫勒斯滂，是連接馬爾馬拉海和愛琴海的海峽，屬土耳其內海，也是亞洲和歐洲的分界線之一，常與馬爾馬拉海和博斯普魯斯海峽並稱土耳其海峽，並且是連接黑海以及地中海的唯一航道。
達達尼爾海峽形狀狹長，長約61公里，寬約1.2公里至6公里，平均深度55米，最深處82米。表層水自馬爾馬拉海流向愛琴海，底層存在一條逆向的潛流。東側為亞洲大陸，西側為加里波利半島。

Sultan Han, Silk Road, Turkey
In the middle of the flat, flat plain between Konya and Aksaray, at a lonely point on the ancient Silk Road, Seljuk Turkish Sultan Alaettin Keykubad I built a caravanserai, or caravan way-station between 1229 and 1236.
It was named, appropriately, the Sultan Han (hanmeaning caravanserai).
This truck-stop-for-camels was no doubt impressive, but it was in 1278 after a fire had damaged the original building that the great caravanserai took its present shape. It is the largest Seljuk caravanserai in Turkey, andwell worth a stop to see if you are traveling between Aksaray (or Cappadocia) and Konya.
In the last half-century, the little village that grew up around the Sultan Han has grown into a town(Sultanhanı) with basic services such as shops, fuel stations, restaurants, tea houses, etc. It is 42 km (26 miles, 45 minutes) west of Aksaray, and 110 km (68 miles, 1-3/4 hours) east of Konya.
The Sultan Han is a prime example of the Seljuk Turkish caravanserai with its lofty, elaborately-worked portalframed by utterly plain but massive walls; its stone-paved courtyard surrounded with rooms that served as treasury, refectory, hamam, repair shops and sleeping quarters.
The design, as always, is elegant in its simplicity.
At the center of the courtyard is a mescit(small mosque) raised above the tumult of animals and men. You can ascend to the mescit by either side of the twin staircase on the west side. The steps are huge.
To the right as you enter is a portico for storage of goods and for sleeping in warmer weather.
Beyond the courtyard is the huge enclosed hall of the caravanserai with its nave and side aisles supported by four rows of eight pillars and a forest of arches. A dome or lantern at the center of the nave lets in light and pigeons.
The Sultan Han has been repaired and restored numerous times in its eight centuries of existence, most recently within the past half century.
To visit the Sultan Han, turn off the Aksaray-Konya highway and enter the town of Sultanhani. Soon you’ll see the caravanserai hulking at its center.
