Ardahan Merkez'de, Halil Efendi Mahallesi'nde yer alan Ardahan Kalesi, Osmanlı döneminde,16. Yüzyıl ortalarında Kanuni Sultan Süleyman’ın emriyle inşa edilen, günümüze kadar ulaşmayı başaran Ardahan Kalesi
Tam olarak şehir merkezimizin kuzeyindeki Halil Efendi Mahallesi ile Ardahan Merkezini birbirinden ayıran Kura Nehrinin hemen sol yanında yer alıyor.
Ardahan Kalesinin Selçuklular tarafından yapıldığı ve Osmanlılar döneminde sürekli kullanıldığı bilinmektedir.
Kalenin dikdörtgen plan oluşturan sur duvarları baştan başa kare tavanlı ve çokgen planlı çok sayıda kule ile desteklenmiştir. Kule köşelerinde düzgün ve kesme taş, harç olarak Horasan harcı kullanılmıştır. Kalenin duvar örgü tekniği, çokgen kuleleri ve konumlandırılmış biçimi ile Rumeli Hisarını andırmaktadır.
Batıdaki büyük kapısı üzerinde Arapça bir kitabe bulunmaktadır. Kitabede Arap, Rum ve Acem ülkelerinin deniz ve karalarının sahibi padişahlar padişahı Selim Han'ın oğlu Sultan Süleyman-ı Azam namına yapılmıştır. Mülkü kıyame kadar baki kalsın. Yapıldığı tarih: Şevval 963 (Miladi 1544) (Rumi 956-960) yazmaktadır.

On Foot Across the Turkey Georgia Border ????
This is the second episode of Limitless Borders, a show I created to highlight border crossing from one country to the next. I'll be sharing my experience of border crossing on foot from Turkey to Georgia through the Batumi Border. I started in Trabzon city in Turkey by taking a bus from the city centre to Trabzon's main bus station, afterwards, I got into another bus to drop me off right at the border, and then I crossed the border crossing it on foot and made it to Georgia. At the Georgia border, I got another bus to drop me off in Batumi city where I walked towards the hostel and checked in, afterwards I take a quick walk in the city and got something to eat while sharing final thoughts and reviews about the border crossing experience.

On our trip through Turkey, more specifically through Eastern Anatolia, Diyarbakir was one of the 4 cities we visited. In this video, you are about to see the major points of interest we found in Diyarbakir.
Diyarbakir is the cultural capital in Türkiye that is located on the banks of the Tigris River. The city, where many civilizations and cultures have lived in its history of nine thousand years, has the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, Diyarbakır Castle, and Hevsel Gardens, as well as the world's second-longest wall, after the great wall of china.
The city is adjacent to important historical cities such as Şanlıurfa and Mardin, which we also visited during the trip, of which we will share a travel guide soon here on the channel.

60-second drive through Ardahan, Turkey's Northeasternmost Province
23. October 2020. Turkey. Ardahan Province lies in the far northeast Turkey on the border with Georgia & Armenia on a high plateau converging with Lesser Caucasus mountain range. At this altitude, temperatures drop below freezing all year. Did a quick drive-through, pausing at Taşlıdere village on the way from Şavşat to Kars, bypassing Autumn, going straight from summer to winter.

Episode 11: Elazig and Erzurum. Harput Castle, ice cave and turkish food
In this episode we are going from Adana to Elazig by hitchhiking and staying for a couple of days in Elazig by couchsurfing with Yavuz. The next day he is showing us an ice cave and Harput Castle, where we visited a museum, undeground tunnel and watched a very nice view of Elazig from above. On the next day we met few friends of Yavuz and spent some good time together walking in a park and had a good conversation with a cup of coffee and some traditional Turkish food. In the night we also went to try something new and we had one tippical in Elazig sandwich and some turkish delights.
Then we went to Erzurum and the road was very beatiful. We even visited some places on our way. We spent only one day in Erzurum, walked around of the historical center an watched a beautiful sunset.
