Tiny Tour | Tárrega Spain | Visit the Historic Center of a 1000-year-old city 2020 Sep
Tárrega is a municipality in the province of Lerida in Catalonia. It is the capital of the Urgel region, with a population of 16,670 inhabitants and an area of 88 km². It is the second city in terms of extension in the province of Lleida. The main economic activities are commerce and the food and metallurgical industries.
Tárrega has a continental Mediterranean climate, with summer drought and little abundant rains the rest of the year, but concentrated in very few days of very intense precipitation. Temperatures are warm in summer and cold in winter, with little daily temperature oscillation, especially in winter.
The origin of the stable settlement of Tárrega corresponds to the time of Muslim rule, when the castle and the walls were built in the 10th century. In the middle of the 11th century, the Count of Barcelona Ramón Berenguer I conquered his castle from the Muslims. 4 Its strategic location favored growth during the Middle Ages, especially until the 14th century.
Most of the important buildings, such as the church of San Antonio, the town hall or the church of Carmen, were built during the 17th century, a period of Gothic influence .
The 19th century saw the inauguration of the Manresa-Tárrega- Lérida railway line (1862), the granting of the title of city by Alfonso XII (1884), the beginnings of construction of a series of basic infrastructures such as electricity and telephone, and the development of county roads.

Este vídeo nos acerca a los tres pueblos con encanto de la provincia de Lleida, una distinción que otorga la agencia catalana de turismo a aquellas poblaciones de menos de 2.500 habitantes que cautivan y enamoran al visitante por sus atractivos. Estos son Montsonís, en la comarca de La Noguera; Taüll, en L’Alta Ribagorça, y Arties en La Val d’Aran.
Montsonís es conocido por su espectacular castillo del siglo XI, ubicado en la parte alta del pueblo. De esta construcción destacan la torre del homenaje, el vistoso ventanal de estilo gótico de la fachada principal o los amplias dependencias señoriales. Hacer un recorrido por el núcleo antiguo de esencia medieval, pasear por sus calles emblemáticas como la del Pi o la del Mig y conocer sus casas históricas es un buen comienzo para descubrir este pueblo con encanto de La Noguera. Asimismo merece la pena acercarse al santuario de Santa María de Saglar y realizar excursiones por sus alrededores. Destacan dos itinerarios muy interesantes. Uno es la ruta de lo Bunker Trail, perfecta para senderistas, y el otro el sendero Land Art que demuestra que Montsonís es un auténtico museo al aire libre.
El segundo pueblo con encanto de Lleida es Taüll, una encantadora localidad de casas de piedra situada en un entorno natural pirenaico de primer orden: la vall de Boí. Taüll atesora dos templos románicos del siglo XII que son Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco: las iglesias de Santa María y la de Santa Clemente. Las pinturas de San Clemente de Taüll tienen una innovadora presentación gracias a un vídeo mapping que recrea los frescos originales dentro del ábside mayor y el presbiterio de la nave central. En este sentido el pantocrátor de San Clemente de Taüll es considerado una obra maestra del románico europeo y ha fascinado a artistias de las vanguardias del siglo XX como Picasso.
Taüll es un destino perfecto para el turismo activo y deportes de aventura gracias a la cercanía del Parque Nacional de Aigüestortes y Estany de Sant Maurici, el único Parque Nacional de #Cataluña y uno de los mejor conservados del sur de Europa.
El tercer pueblo con encanto de la provincia de Lleida es Arties, en la Val d’Aran, y la primera toma de contacto con esta localidad la vamos a hacer con estas vistas del Montardo o Montarto, la montaña que da cobijo al pueblo. Arties es un pueblo precioso que cuenta con unas destacadas construcciones renacentistas de los siglos XVI y XVII. Un buen ejemplo es la casa solariega de los Portolà, cuyos torreón y capilla están integrados al Parador de Turismo.
En el pueblo encontramos dos iglesias, la de Santa María, románica, y la de Sant Joan, de estilo gótico. Por último, el monumento al Taro rinde homenaje a la fiesta de Sant Joan, patrimonio inmaterial de la humanidad.
