București or Bucharest is the capital and largest city of Romania. It is described as the cultural, financial, entertainment, and media center in Romania with a significant influence in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. It is also an influence in education, tourism, research, technology, health care, art, fashion, sports, and politics in Romania.

It is located in the southeast of the country, on the banks of the Dâmbovița River, less than 60 kilometers north of the Danube River and the Bulgarian border.
01:08 How to get to Bucharest?
The biggest airport in Romania and closest to Bucharest is Henri Coanda also known as Otopeni International Airport (OTP) and is located in the Northern part of the capital in the small town of Otopeni. That’s why the short name for the airport is Bucharest Otopeni. Bucharest Otopeni Airport is about 20 km away from the city centre Piata Universitatii and Old Town area. Depending on traffic rush and transportation option, the journey will take 30-60 min. There are 3 ways to get from Bucharest Airport to the city: Getting a taxi or an Uber, train or bus.

Beautifully restored 19th-century buildings with white stairs like a carousel is definitely one of the most stunning bookshops I have seen. Pasajul Victoriei in Bucharest's old-town boasts dozens of colorful umbrellas that transform this otherwise gritty alleyway into one of the city's unmissable spots among dedicated Instagrammers. The Linden Tree Inn is the only historic inn in Bucharest that has preserved its shape exactly as it was at its origins.

The old town of Bucharest is as mentioned, pretty small, however, there is a selection of old inns hidden in the old streets. Caru’ cu Bere is the oldest brewery in Bucharest and lies just a few steps away from the Stavropoleos Church. Cărturești Carusel has been pictured all over Instagram at the latest years or so and has been said to be one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world. The Macca Vilacrosse Passage, also located in the old Bucharest, right next to the National Bank.

From bucharest there are daily tour packages depending on your budget as group or private tours. Tour packages mostly include visiting Peles Castle, Bran Castle and Brasov Old Town. It takes 12 hours. Group tours starts from 35€ excluding entrance fees and lunch and private ones are around 250-300€ including entrance fees and lunch. Also you can visit one of the biggest Thermal Spa Complex in Europe called Therme Bucharest, which is 20 kilometers away from Bucharest.

Weather in Bucharest is generally warm and pleasant. Like the rest of Romania, the climate is temperate-continental and all 4 seasons are still present. The best times to visit are during Spring between March and June and Autumn between September and October with averages of 15 - 25 Celsius, just perfect to enjoy the city. July-August can get pretty hot with 34 - 38 Celsius.

Bucharest is worth visiting mainly if you want to have fun. Bucharest is one of the most lively cities in this part of Europe. Nightlife of this city is incredible, especially in weekends. Old Town is the center of this amazing nightlife. Sinaia Ski Resort :-

At 1,940m (6,365ft), Transalpina Ski Resort in Valcea County, offers seven ski slopes for beginner and intermediate skiers. The views over the Făgăraș and Parâng Mountains are some of the best you can get in Romania, and the prices are not too high either.
Predeal Ski Resort :-
Predeal is one of the most popular mountain resorts in Romania, in both summer and winter. With a higher elevation than neighbouring Poiana Braşov, it offers 8.5km (5mi) of pistes, though they are a little shorter in length. It's also known for being one of Romania's sunniest spots.

Am susprins defilarea ce a avut loc in Cluj-Napoca de Ziua Nationala a Romaniei - pe 1 decembrie 2022. Domnul primar Emil Boc a sustinut un discurs inainte de inceperea defilarii.
Parada a avut loc pe Bulevardul Eroilor din Cluj si au fost efective ale Ministerului Apararii Nationale si al Ministerului de Interne. Pe langa tancuri, taburi au fost prezente si cateva elicoptere.

La multi ani! Happy Great Union Day, Romania!
The National Day of Romania is celebrated on December 1st. It is known as Great Union Day or 1918 Union Day. The day marks the Union of Transylvania with Romania in 1918.
Let's take a look at the history of this holiday.
Romania had declared its independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1877, with the country comprised of the principalities of Moldova and Wallachia.
At the end of World War I, Romania almost doubled in size when Transylvania and the provinces of Bessarabia and Bukovina unified with Romania.
The declaration of unification happened in Alba Iulia on December 1st 1918.
The declaration was read by Vasile Goldis, during a public event which was attended by over 100,000 Romanians.
During World War II, Romania lost Basarabia (present-day Moldova) and Bucovina in 1940. Both regions were annexed by the Soviet Republic.
Romania's national day has moved around a few times over the years.
Before 1918, the national day was observed on May 10th.
which marked both Carol I's entrance into Romania in 1866 and his declaration of Independence from the Ottomans in 1877.
During communist rule, the national day was August 23rd, which marked the overthrow of the fascist government in 1944.
Following the end of communist rule in 1990, December 1st was made the national day.
Great Union Day is marked by a large military parade in the capital, Bucharest.
Speeches are made in Bucharest and Alba Iulia, where the declaration of the union was first read out.

Oaia aia e a ei is a Romanian sentence made only of vowels. It means ‘That sheep is hers.’
The first Olympic gymnast to ever score a perfect 10 was the 14-year-old Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci.
The tallest wooden church in Europe is in Sapanta Peri, Maramures.
Scrabble was banned in Romania until the 1980s for being “overly intellectual.”
Romanian soprano, Alma Gluck was the first lyrical artist in the world to sell a million records.
The Izvorul Bigar is considered to be the most beautiful waterfall in the world. It's nicknamed the Mermaid Shower.
In 1889, Timisoara became the first European city to have electric street lighting.
Peles Castle was the first European castle to be entirely lit by electrical current.
Guinness Book has ranked the Palace of Parliament in Bucharest as the most expensive administrative building and the world’s heaviest one.
Romanian scientist, Nicolar Paulescu, discovered insulin in 1922.
In 2018, to mark the centenary of Great Union Day, 4807 people gathered in Alba Iulia, to recreate the outline of Romania, making it the largest human image of a country/continent ever.

1 Decembrie/Ziua națională a României/La multi ani Romania/La multi ani tuturor romanilor#shorts
Pe 1 decembrie 1918 a fost convocată, la Alba Iulia, Adunarea Naţională a Românilor, lucrările finalizându-se cu Hotărârea de unire necondiţionată a Transilvaniei cu România, votată în unanimitate. Acest act a avut loc după ce la data de 27 martie 1918 s-a decis unirea Basarabiei, iar pe 28 noiembrie 1918 organul reprezentativ al Bucovinei a votat și el unirea cu țara.
Pe 1 decembrie 1918, se decide astfel în unanimitate unirea Transilvaniei, Crişanei şi Maramureşului cu România, dar cu păstrarea unei autonomii locale, pe baze democratice, cu egalitate între naţionalităţi şi religii.
Adunarea Naţională a poporului român din Transilvania, Banat şi părţile ungurene a primit rezoluţiunea prezentată prin Vasile Goldiş în întregimea ei şi astfel unirea acestei provincii româneşti cu ţara mamă este pentru toate veacurile decisă, anunţa atunci Gheorghe Pop de Băseşti, preşedintele Marii Adunări.
La Alba Iulia, aşa cum a fost şi la Cernăuţi, la 28 noiembrie, a fost o adunare a tuturor românilor din Austro-Ungaria. Tot aici, la Alba Iulia, se constituie Marele Consiliu Naţional Român, care este format din 200 de membri aleşi şi încă 50 cooptaţi. În următoarea zi, Consiliul numeşte un guvern provizoriu, numit Consiliul Dirigent al Transilvaniei, care îl are în frunte pe Iuliu Maniu. La 11 decembrie se ratifică Marea Unire de către Guvernul României, iar declaraţia de la Alba Iulia este înmânată regelui Ferdinand. Regele promulgă în aceeaşi zi decretul de sancţionare a unirii (inclusiv a Basarabiei şi Bucovinei). Un an mai târziu, pe 29 decembrie 1919, Parlamentul României votează legile de ratificare a unirii Transilvaniei, Crişanei, Maramureşului, Banatului, Bucovinei şi Basarabiei cu România.
Recunoaşterea internaţională a unirii Bucovinei cu România s-a făcut la 10 septembrie 1919, prin semnarea Tratatului de la Saint Germain dintre Puterile Aliate şi Austria. Recunoaşterea unirii Transilvaniei, Banatului, Crişanei şi Maramureşului cu România s-a făcut prin Tratatul de pace de la Trianon, încheiat la 4 iunie 1920, de Puterile Aliate şi Asociate şi Ungaria.
Tradiții și obiceiuri de 1 Decembrie
Ziua Naţională a României este marcată an de an prin evenimente patriotice, în special prin parade militare - cele mai celebre fiind cea de la București de la Arcul de Triumf și cea de la Alba Iulia. Totodată peste tot în țară au loc parade militare mai mici sau ceremonii de depuneri de coroane şi jerbe de flori la monumentele eroilor.
În catedralele, bisericile și mănăstirile din țară este oficializată slujba specifică” Te Deum”, prin care sunt pomeniți eroii neamului românesc care au luptat pentru Marea Unire de la 1918.
De 1 decembrie au loc și ceremonii organizate de școli, deși în ultimii ani situația creată de pandemia COVID au limitat mutl aceste manifestații. Deobicei în școli și grădinițe sunt organizate serbări, iar copii îmbracă portul populari. Drapelul naţional este arborat în toate instituţiile de stat din ţară, dar și în casele românilor patrioți. Mulți au ajuns în ultimii ani s-și monteze simbolic un mic tricolor și pe mașină.
Pe lângă acestea, Ziua Națională a României este marcată și ca o sărbătoare culinară care vine ca o deschidere a perioadei de Sărbători de Iarnă. Astfel, mulți români sărbătoresc pe 1 Decembrie cu un pahar cu vin, normal sau fieri, cu țuică fiartă, cu tradiționalii mici sau cu fasole cu ciolan.
