Çorlu ilçesi, Tekirdağ ilindeki sanayileşmenin en hızlı geliştiği bölgedir. DPT verilerine göre ilçelerin sosyo-ekonomik gelişmesi açısından Çorlu İlçesi, Türkiye'de 16'ncı sırada yer almaktadır.
İki adet küçük sanayi sitesi mevcut olan Çorlu'nun E-5 karayolu, İstanbul kısmında kurulan 486 iş yeri bulunan yeni sanayi sitesinde 6-7 bin civarında kişinin çalıştığı temel atma işleri devam eden ikinci etap 650 işyerinin daha hizmete girmesiyle toplam 15.000 kişiye iş imkanı sağlanacaktır. Ayrıca sitede idare binası, toplantı ve düğün salonu, Çıraklık Eğitim Okulu (16 derslik uygulama atölyesi) ,iki adet banka şubesi, acente blokları ve camii gibi sosyal tesisler mevcuttur.
Çorlu'da toplam 454 sanayi kuruluşu bulunmakta olup, tekstil, boyama fabrikalarının işgücü bakımından ezici bir çoğunlukla ilk sırayı almaktadır. D-100 Edirne yolu Çerkezköy özellikle TEM bağlantısının olduğu alanda ve Türkgücü köyü yolu civarında tekstil fabrikalarının yoğunlaştığı görülmektedir. İkinci sırada toplam 3.567 çalışanı ile deri, deri konfeksiyon ve ayakkabı fabrikaları gelmektedir. Ayrıca kürk-süet üretiminin Türkiye'deki merkezi Çorlu'dur. 1038 çalışanı ve %3.44 iş gücü payı ile üçüncü sırayı alan ayçiçeği yağı ve margarin sanayi dalı halen mevcut olan büyük kapasiteli tesisler bölgede üretilen ayçiçeğinin tamamını işleyecek seviyededir. Aynı durum kağıt fabrikaları, un fabrikaları ve elektronik fabrikalar için de geçerlidir.
