Deux Bales National Park, Burkina Faso
To shorten the long drive between Bobo-Dioulasso and Ouagadougou, I decided to stop for a night at a place called Deux Bales National Park which is basically right near the town of Boromo in Central Burkina Faso. The trip is pretty uneventful, as the drive's landscape is really flat. However, as I drive into the park I'm told there is the potential for elephants. In fact, the park guide is obviously concerned when I show myself at the lodge having driving through the wild of the park alone. Anyways, on this episode in Deux Bales National Park I come up empty, but it was definitely a nice place to spend the night!

Les Cascades de Banfora in Banfora, Burkina Faso
Banfora is a small quiet town, about 100 km from Bobo Dioulasso. After walking along the cliffs and through the sugar cane fields, you arrive in this friendly town with a refreshing climate. We often come to Banfora to cool off near the waterfalls. You will easily find accommodation and the area is ideal for hiking or cycling.
Comoé has its source in Peni and flows close to Banfora. This river is used to irrigate sugar cane crops all year round. He continues his course until Ivory Coast, Country which it crosses to go to throw in the Atlantic Ocean. Here, we produce a lot of sugar and a little rum.
20 minutes from Banfora, Karfiguela, you can enjoy the freshness of waterfalls. You have to leave the road on the right at the entrance of Banfora when you come from Bobo. Then follow the signs to the Domes and Cascades. It is advisable to be careful and not to frequent the site with the wintering, the place being dangerous because of the important flow.

In this video I'm visiting Ziniaré’s Animal Sanctuary in Burkina Faso! Open in 1990 by the former president of Burkina Faso Blaise Compaore, this site was one of the most visited place in Burkina Faso during the time his was in power. But after he left the place was almost abandonned and animals were starving and some even died. Today I'm visiting the sanctuary to see what is left.
