10 Best Places to Visit in Massachusetts - Travel Video
Check out all the places seen in this video:
As one of the original Thirteen Colonies and birthplace of the American Revolution, it is no wonder Massachusetts is renowned for its rich history. It was here in the early seventeenth-century that the first colonists arrived and set up settlements. Tucked away in the northeast of the United States in New England, its long Atlantic Ocean coastline is dominated by the three ginormous bays that shape it. While countless historic sites litter the Bay State, it also has scenic spots such as Cape Cod for holidaymakers to enjoy. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Massachusetts:

Brief Tour of Concord Massachusetts
In this video, I took an impromptu trip to Concord, Massachusetts. I walked around this town, recorded what I liked seeing, and even tried going into an antique stores. (They have a couple of those stores, and In my opinion, they are very well curated. I felt It's different from the vintage stores in Portsmouth, NH. I recommend giving them a visit.) Later in the video, I briefly visited a factory-looking building right next to Assabet River.
There are a few things I learned from making this video:
That is learning the function of Zoom-ins and outs. It's useful when you want to connect two recorded moving pictures. For example, on one same subject but you want a moving picture with a 50mm perspective. you want another moving picture with a 150mm perspective. Zooming-in connect those two, and make that happen in one continuous motion. Another thing I learned is that I better know when not to use zoom-in/outs. I guess you have to record both then. one without zoom-in/out, another with it. So you have more options to choose from to fit your narrative/flow.
Another thing I noticed is that when you watch a tv show, you never hear like a song in the background without a purpose. It's not just a frequency filler. It serves the purpose more than making a boring part a little more exciting. (I guess if it's super boring, slapping a background filler music could work as a life-resuscitating, very last minute resort. but at that point, you already know, your storyline/scene edit was not well-done to begin with.
Had I have more options, and more B-rolls, talking-points, I would have not included the Milldam scene (the Framingham, Needham narration. Because I already talked about a sign the scene before, and it feels like a repetition. Or a extension of the same topic. I probably should have talked about the history of the main St. Market and Cafe instead.
I also had some difficulties whether to include a background music for the Antique store scene. But, I thought it would have been too abundant to include a background music. (Also, I couldn't find any background fitting.) And, that's when I knew, it's actually that antique store scene that was giving me the problem. The problem of making this video lack the drive. Looking back, I think I kind of know why. I should have included less Zoomed-in B rolls inside the antique stores. And, I should have picked an object and talked about something I could relate to Concord. Then, it would have added something more to this Concord Travel video.
Wish I had one more good scene before the mill-scene. Like an historical building where a famous poet lived or something. And, a great outside shot and a inside shot, and I read off the historical story, briefly. Then, that would have made a great addition right before the mill-scene. And, made this whole video more complete.
Anyways, Thanks for watching!

Concord, Massachusetts USA
Concord, Massachusetts. November 27, 2016.
The area which became the town of Concord was originally known as Musketaquid, an Algonquian word for grassy plain. It was one of the scenes of the Battle of Lexington and Concord, the initial conflict in the American Revolutionary War. It developed into a remarkably rich literary center during the mid-nineteenth century. Featured were Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Bronson Alcott, Louisa May Alcott and Henry David Thoreau, all of whose homes are preserved in modern-day Concord. The now-ubiquitous Concord grape was developed here.

NH: Concord, State Capital
The New Hampshire State House is the oldest state capitol in which both houses of the legislature meet in their original chambers.
We had a very good guide. She explained New Hampshire House is truly a “citizens legislature” with 400 members, it’s one of the most accessible in the country.
To be a New Hampshire Congress person, one must be a resident of New Hampshire for two years and be at least 18 years of age.
A conngress person receives just $100 per year as compensation! It’s not much, but then again, the low rate tends to keep career politicians out and minimizes the burden on taxpayers.
The New Hampshire Senate has been meeting since 1784. It consists of 24 members representing Senate districts based on population. Currently, there are 14 Republicans and 10 Democrats.
The Senate has to complete the work assigned on a particular day and must do so before the end of the day. If more time is needed, the clock in the room will be stopped at 12:00 AM and reset to regular time once the work completes.
