Discovering Warrensburg, MO on Foot
Warrensburg, Missouri, was founded in 1835 by European-American settlers John and Martin D. Warren. The town was named after Martin Warren, who had a log cabin at what is now College and Gay Streets. Warrensburg was platted in 1836, and incorporated in 1855. It is the seat of Johnson County, and home to the campus of the University of Central Missouri (originally the Second District State Normal School).
The town grew rapidly in the early 1800s, due to its location along the Osage Indian Trail and its status as the county seat. By 1850, the population of Warrensburg was 241 and the town had a flour mill, a carding machine, a foundry, and a woolen mill. For the most part the town was organized around marketing and shipping agricultural products from the surrounding farms.
When the Civil War erupted in Missouri in 1861, most of the economic activity in Warrensburg was curtailed. The town was briefly occupied by Union forces in 1862, but it was mostly spared from the violence of the war.
After the war, Warrensburg rebounded and continued to grow. The town's location along the newly-built Missouri Pacific Railroad made it a major transportation hub for the region. In 1870, the University of Central Missouri was founded in Warrensburg, which further boosted the town's economy.

Another Short Video you might enjoy its 26 seconds:
Our Best viewed is the long version of the trip to Oscars with over 7.4k+ views:
Please Support Us on Patreon:
Circumstances led to us going to Oscar's. A place made more famous by Rachel Ray in her popular talk shows. Rachel Ray is a native to our area and lives just a few minutes from our HQ, many of us locals grew up either knowing or knowing of her from her early TV days on local TV and of course her national stardom and from being a life long resident of Lake Luzerne, NY.
Oscars for the locals is a go to place and when I say locals I mean from all over NY, VT, Mass and indeed from across the Untied States. My grandfather who was 95 at the time told me of trips as a kid he made from Rockland County NY just for the Ham. A go to place for the best smoked bacon and ham you've ever had. I know so many of heard of Oscars but never seen or visited, hope you enjoy! If your ever the Lake George Saratoga area, Warrensburg, NY is just a stones through away and Uber is used to the trip, don't worry you will find Oscars, just follow your nose and tummy to yummy town, I believe they are also huge on the internet for mail orders. Check them out and tell them Butchy Boom sent ya, they don't know who we are, but tell em anyway.
BTW, have a place of interest in NY you want to see, let us know in the comment section, maybe we will get ya a video.

Warrensburg, MO, to Sikeston, MO | Rare Visions & Roadside Revelations. Ep. 201
The team tours Missouri with stops from Warrensburg to Sikeston. Highlights include J.C. Carter's metal sculptures and singing dogs near Warrensburg; the world's second-largest collection of farm implement seats in Iona; Larry Bagget's stonework, including a monument to the Trail of Tears outside Rolla; and Lambert's Restaurant, home of the throwed rolls, in Sikeston.
We're sharing an episode of this longtime viewer favorite each Monday on this channel.
Launched in 1995, Rare Visions & Roadside Revelations sought out a hidden world of outsider artists and, in a traveling show format, brought their eclectic work to the viewers of public television. The series followed Randy Mason, Mike Murphy and Don the Camera Guy as they loaded up their cramped minivan and hit the road to document grassroots arts environments and offbeat attractions of all kinds, exploring human creativity across 47 states and four time zones.
