Budaun railway station is a main railway station in Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh. Its code is BEM. It serves Budaun city. The station consists of 3 platforms. The platform is not well sheltered. It lacks many facilities including water and sanitation.[1]
The station lies on Ramnagar-Agra Railway line. Trains for Bareilly, Ramnagar, Agra, Mumbai, Vadodara, Surat, Mathura, Kota etc. are available.
Budaun (also spelled as Badaun, formerly Vodamayuta) is a city and a seat of Budaun district,[1] Uttar Pradesh, India. It is located near the Ganges river.[2] in the center of Western Uttar Pradesh. It was the most important post of Northern Frontier during Mughal reign. Budaun is a big market, historically famous and religiously important city. It is the heart of Rohilkhand.[3][4] Budaun is 229 km from New Delhi and it takes 4 hours 47 mins to 7 hours to reach the city depending on mode of transport i.e. car or roadways bus service.[5] Whilst not a main tourist destination, it still attracts thousands of people annually. Every year it is estimated that 1.5 lac to 2 lac people visit the city, most people come there for Ziyarat. Budaun is famous among the Barelwi sectors of Muslims due to the presence of hundreds of martyrs (Shahid) and saints buried there. Budaun was the capital of Delhi Sultanate for four years from 1210 CE to 1214 CE during Sultan Iltutmish rule.
Tomb of Ikhlas Khan in Badaun
Ikhlas Khan's tomb is located in Jawaharpuri, Badaun district, the tomb holds five graves, with the mortal remains of Ikhlas Khan, his wife, and their son Shahwaz Khan. Historians are not sure of the identity of the other two people buried here.
The family was famous in Badaun. There is even a locality in the district called 'Shahwazpuri', named after the governor's son, which continues to be called by that name even today,
Budaun is holy land of Great Sufi Saint's, Auliya, Wali and Peer's as well as a place of izarat's. It is very holi place in the India. According to Prof. Goti John this city was named BEDAMOOTH in an ancient inscription which is now in Lucknow Museum. In that Period this pradesh was known as PANCHAL . According to a line of that Stone Writeup there was a village “BHADAUNLAK” near it. Muslim Historian Mr. Roz Khan Lodhi said that King Ashoka Built a Buddh Vihar & Quila and he named it BuddhMau. Geographically BUDAUN City is located near Holy River GANGA, at Lattitude 28 Degree 02 Minute 30 Second East & Longitude 79 Degree 01 Minute 20 Second North on Globe. Length of District is 144 Km. & Width is 60 Km. And Total area of District is 4234Sq. Km. Budaun City is 235 Km. From Delhi & 311 Km. From Lucknow. Budaun has average elevation of 169 metres.

The Jama Masjid or Great Mosque is a major mosque built in historic center of Budaun,Uttar Pradesh.

Constructed in 1223 ( 12th Century )
History - The mosque was built by Iltutmish, the ruler of Delhi Sultanate that time. This mosque reflects Persian and Afghan architecture
This mosque is the third oldest existing and second largest mosque of the country after Delhi's Jama Masjid, having a standard capacity of 23500.
The central dome of the mosque is considered to be the largest for any dome of mosque in the country.

Sheikhupur is an area near Badaun, a city in the north-central Uttar Pradesh state of northern India. It is inhabited by Faridi branch of the Farooqi Sheikhs. In the reign of Akbar his family became connected with the empire. Its first member was Sheikh Salim Chishti whose tomb at Fatehpur Sikri near Agra was built at the expense of the State. His grandson Nawab Qutubuddin Koka was private secretary to the emperor Jahangir and afterwards governor of Bengal. Nawab Qutb-ud-din Khan Koka's son Nawab Mohtashim Khan was granted by Jahangir 4,000 bhigas of land in Badaun District (United Provinces) where he built a small fort named Sheikhupur after Jahangir, who was caned Sheikhu-baba in his childhood. He was married to Mumtaz Mahal's sister and grand tomb still stands there housing their graves.
Nawab Mohtashim Khan was granted by the emperors Jahangir, Shah Jahan and Alamgir a jagir of 22 villages in that district. Hakim Razi-ud-din's grandfather Hakim Ghulam Najaf Khan was appointed physician to the last king of Delhi with the title of Azaz-ud-daula Bahadur.

सोरों सूकरक्षेत्र भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य में कासगंज जनपद का एक नगर है। यहाँ प्रत्येक अमावस्या, सोमवती अमावस्या, पूर्णिमा, रामनवमी, मोक्षदा एकादशी आदि अवसरों पर तीर्थयात्रियों का बड़ी संख्या में आवागमन होता है और गंगा में स्नान कर पुण्य प्राप्त करते हैं। यहाँ अस्थि विसर्जन का विशेष महत्त्व है। यहाँ स्थित कुण्ड में विसर्जित की गईं अस्थियाँ तीन दिन के अन्त में रेणुरूप धारण कर लेती हैं। यह महाकवि गोस्वामी तुलसीदास की जन्मभूमि है। सोरों सूकरक्षेत्र के तीर्थपुरोहित जगत् विख्यात हैं। इनके पास प्रत्येक परिवार के पूर्वजों का इतिहास हैं।
