🇲🇽 LESSER KNOWN places in Mexico are amazing! Tequisquiapan & Bernal 👀😍

Lesser known places in Mexico are amazing! 🇲🇽
In this video we go off the beaten path slightly and head to two fairly unknown towns located about two and a half hours north of Mexico City, Tequisquiapan and Bernal ⛰️

Tequisquiapan has a population of 72,000 people. It’s known for its mineral spas and the well-preserved Spanish colonial buildings lining its cobbled streets. In the center, the pink neoclassical Santa María de la Asunción church overlooks arcaded Plaza Miguel Hidalgo, which we visit. The town is known for crafts like the handwoven baskets sold at the handicrafts market, which we also visit 🙂

Bernal has a population of just under 3,000 people. This cute little town is known for its enormous monolith rock, the Peña de Bernal, the third highest on the planet. In 2005 Bernal was designated as a Pueblo Magico (Magical town) and I can see why. It feels very authentic and cultural.
Now, in 2022, there are currently 132 Magical Towns in Mexico ❤️

So come and join us on the first part of this amazing road trip through the states of Queretaro and Guanajuato in Mexico!

If you'd like to see more of our adventures in various places in Mexico head to this playlist, it may give you some ideas of different locations to visit...

This Mexican town is SO COOL!!

We're on a quest to see what Queretaro, Mexico has to offer. Today's vlog brought us to the historic center, a local vineyard, and the magic town Bernal.
► Download CrowdVoice:

Looking for what to do in Queretaro? In today's Mexico vlog, we're in Queretaro, Queretaro ready to take advantage of the gorgeous 75-degree weather on this late July day. That's what brought us to a tasty breakfast at Pia in the historic center of Queretaro before going for a road trip to one of the many vineyards within a 1-hour drive from the city.

Our first stop is a local vineyard called Finca Sala Vivé by Friexenet. After having a few glasses of wine and exploring the vineyard, we make the 20-minute drive to the Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) called Bernal. This town is so charming with artisanal products, handicrafts, walking streets, and the stunning monolith.

Tour of the town of Tequisquiapan, Queretaro | English | Subtitles | Queretaro | Canadian in Mexico

In this video (Queretaro Vlog) we are exploring the town of Tequisquiapan, or, simply Tequis, Mexico. This town is located in Central Mexico north of Mexico City in a State called Queretaro. The town is small, but nice. We walked around and toured the streets and parks and like always, we had some local Mexican Food!

This town is what is called a Pueblo Magico, which are towns around the country that offer visitors a magical experience – by reason of their natural beauty, cultural richness, traditions, folklore, historical relevance, cuisine, art crafts and great hospitality - wikipedia.

Being a Gringo in the area was interesting. This was a town that isn't use to too many non-Mexican tourists, so we easily stood out. Did we feel unsafe? Nope. Our first impressions of Tequisquiapan were great! It was great to travel Queretaro - especially Tequis!

There are many places to stay when you are here. This town is big enough to offer some of these fine hotels:

Veranda Hotel
Holiday Inn Express Queretaro
Best Western Tequisquiapan
