BLED
is situated on the southern foot of the Karawanks mountain range close to the boundary with Austria, around 50 km (31 mi) northwest of the public capital of Ljubljana. South of Lake Bled are the thickly forested Pokljuka and Jelovica levels and the easternmost pieces of the Julian Alps, where the Sava Bohinjka waterway and the equal Bohinj Railway lead to the Bohinj bowl, Lake Bohinj, and the Triglav massif.
Various ascents (Grad 599 m, Straža 646 m, Kozarca 558 m, Osojnica 756 m, and Ravnica 729 m) separate the areas of Bled around the lake, the previous towns of Grad, Mlino, Rečica, Zagorice, and Želeče.
The lake is 2.12 kilometers (1.32 mi) long and 0.5 to 1 kilometer (0.31 to 0.62 mi) wide. In summer, the surface water arrives at 25 °C (77 °F) and holds a temperature up to 18 °C (64 °F) until fall. Accordingly, it is reasonable for swimming. During colder winters, the whole lake freezes and can be utilized for ice skating; the island can then be reached on foot.
VALLEY SOČA
SOČA the emerald waterway of experiences
The River Soča, which has an unmistakable emerald green tone, is viewed as one of the most delightful waterways in Europe. Its water streams across cascades, little cascades, and falls just as through thin rough crevasses, and en route it has cut astonishing gulches and pools. The stream and its feeders invigorate the admirers of normal magnificence and searchers of brave water sports ,, for example, wildwater kayaking, boating, canyoning and so on An eminent fish lives in the River Soča - the Soča Trout, which draws in anglers from everywhere the world. The precipitous scene over the River Soča was the location of the biggest mountain fight in history during World War I.
Bohinj is a heaven valley embraced by the Julian Alps. Lake Bohinj that lies in the core of the Triglav National Park, one of the most seasoned public parks in Europe, is the biggest Slovenian normal lake, settled at the foot of pristine mountains and peaks.
LAKE BOHINJ
is situated in a frosty valley and it involves right around 100 million cubic meters of water - as indicated by an old Bohinj joke: something like a pail on the off chance that it is adequately enormous. The steeply plummeting lake bowl is moderately flawlessly formed and has no shallow regions. In summer, the temperature of the water ascends to 22 °C; in winter, the lake freezes some of the time. Water level ascents 2 - 3 meters after weighty precipitation.
POSTOJNA CAVE
The most visited vacationer cave in Europe is where the proteus or olm posterity are indeed incubating. The cavern rail route has been working at the cavern for quite some time. Predjama Castle is found near Postojna Cave and is the biggest cavern palace on the planet.
PREDJAMA CASTLE
Predjama Castle (Slovene: Predjamski grad or grad Predjama, German: Höhlenburg Lueg, Italian: Castel Lueghi) is a Renaissance palace worked inside a cavern mouth in south-focal Slovenia, in the verifiable district of Inner Carniola. It is situated in the town of Predjama, around 11 kilometers from the town of Postojna and 9 kilometers from Postojna Cave.
The palace was first referenced in 1274 with the German name Luegg, when the Patriarch of Aquileia fabricated the palace in Gothic style. The palace was worked under a characteristic rough curve high in the stone divider to make admittance to it troublesome. It was subsequently gained and extended by the Luegg honorable family, otherwise called the Knights of Adelsberg (the German name of Postojna).
ZELENCI
Lake Zelenci can be found simply behind the town of Podkoren on the south side of the principle street. Many intriguing plant species, including flesh eating sundews, have observed a home in this nature hold, and creatures of land and water and settling birds are lavishly addressed among creatures.
It lies on the northern edge of the Triglav National Park, in the south it is encircled by the forested Vitranc, and in the north by Karavanke. The bog with the Drni swamp is around 1,200 meters in length, 150 meters wide overall, around 200 meters in the vastest part, and around twenty in the tightest part. In the super western piece of the marsh is an emerald green lake, from which very perfect and cold springs bubble box a layer of lake chalk, which gives the water its trademark blue-green tone. Because of its tone, the lake with the marsh was named Zelenci. Zelenci don't freeze in winter, their consistent temperature all through the year is around 6 ° C. In 1992, Zelenci and its environmental factors were announced a nature hold by a declaration of the region of Jesenice.

LJUBLJANA CASTLE & Tivoli Park | SLOVENIA Travel
LJUBLJANA SLOVENIA: One day exploring Tivoli Park on Roznik Hill and the epic Ljubljana Castle in the city centre. Two amazing things to do in Slovenia’s impressive capital city!
🇸🇮 See more videos from SLOVENIA here →
My day started with a leisurely walk over to Tivoli Park where I stopped by the botanical gardens, small lakes and flower displays. It was quiet so I took the opportunity to fly my drone whilst I was there. From a couple of hundred feet I got some fabulous views of the entire park as well as the numerous walking trails spread all across Roznik Hill.
After stopping off at the pink church I headed over the river and up towards Ljubljana Castle which is located on top of a hill overlooking the city centre. The castle dates back to the 11th century and was a formidable fortress during the Middle Ages. The views across the city are worth the hike up but the views from atop the castle‘s main tower are totally worth paying the entrance fee for.
An entrance ticket will allow you to walk around the castle freely and read up on its history using one of the many information boards. There’s stories and legends to learn about too! My exploration took me from the dungeons all the way up to the tower where those aforementioned 360° views await.
I’d recommend visiting both Ljubljana Castle and Tivoli Park if time allows. I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere at the park and couldn’t get enough of those views from the very top of the castle.

🇸🇮 Fun Bob in Slovenia - Poletno Sankanje Straža, Lake Bled
If you go to Bled in Slovenia, you have to give the Fun Bob toboggan a go! You slowly ascend to the top of Straža on a cable car and once at the top, you're strapped into a toboggan, told how to use the brake and sent on your way. This is brilliant fun and you'll want to keep doing it... I did, in the end I went on it 7 times.

travel to slovenia | Things to do in Lake Bled (Silent Vlog)
SEPTEMBER 2019 | My sister and I spent a few days in Lake Bled. It was a magical town with breathtaking scenery, it reminded us a lot of Queenstown, a small town in New Zealand surrounded by mountains.
Here is a list of all the best things you should do when you visit Lake Bled:
1. Walk around Lake Bled
-It takes around 2 hours to walk around the lake, or even faster if you opt to hire bikes. The walk is flat and easy to do and you get spectacular views of the lake and Bled Island. We thought it was the perfect first thing to do once we arrived in Lake Bled.
2. Visit Bled Castle
-It takes around 10-15 minutes to get to the top of the castle from the bottom and it is not a hard walk. Once you arrive, you get amazing views of Lake Bled and you can treat yourself to Bled Cream Cake and some drinks at the bar once you arrive into the castle. Entrance is 11 euros and it is well worth the fee (but be warned, depending on the season, there may be a lot of tourists with the same idea as you).
3. Try Bled Cream Cake and Potica
-Bled cream cake is a must-eat if you go to Bled. It is delicious, and reminded me a lot of pavlova from back in New Zealand. Potica is also a traditional slovenian pastry, and comes in many different flavours.
4. Wake early for the sunrise
-The sunrise at Lake Bled is breathtaking. Many avid photographers wake up early to catch these amazing views. The way the sun comes up over the mountains and hits the lake and Bled Island is truely remarkable.
5. Hire a row boat or take a pletna to get to Bled Island
-There are many places you can hire a boat, we we hired one from our hotel which cost 20 euros for 2 hours (which we thought was plenty of time as it took around 15 minutes to row to the island and gave us plenty of time to relax once we got to the island). If you are feeling lazy, you can pay a small fee to take the pletna, which are flat-bottom, wood boats are operated by a single person with an oar who stands on the back of the boat.
Once you get to Bled Island, you can enjoy a coffee and potica with amazing views over Lake Bled, or pay an entrance fee into the Church of the Assumption, where you can ring the famous wishing bell.
6. Go to Straza Bled and toboggan down
-Straza Bled is a hill that over looks the lake, where you can also catch a gondola to the top and toboggan down. Unfortunately, we went in the winter time when it was closed, but if you go in the summer you should definitely give it a go!
7. Hike up to Mala Osojnica
-There are many hikes around Bled you can do to catch the sunrise, sun set or just to see amazing views over looking the lake. The best one we found was Mala Osojnica, which was not necessarily an easy walk and included some steep stairs at the end, but was well worth the picture perfect views.

The town was first attested in written sources as Ueldes in 1004 (and as Veldes in 1011).[4][5] The etymology of the name is unknown and it is believed to be of pre-Slavic origin. The German name of the town, Veldes, was either borrowed from Old Slovene *Beldъ before AD 800 or is derived from the same pre-Slavic source as the Slovene name.
