The Second Kentish Road Trip

Another mini road trip that's also suitable for cyclists, through Kentish Towns & villages, each offering something different.

The route is circular, and we start at Hollingbourne, just off junction 8 of the M20 motorway, but you could choose Faversham off junction 6 of the M2. If you're cycling, there's plenty of options too.

From Hollingbourn we travel a short distance to the Market village of Lenham, with free parking in the old market square. Next, we head on a little further up the A20 to Charing, with its quaint high street, the ruins of an Archbishop's palace and a memorial to Frederick George Coppins VC.

We then head north to the movie set that is Chilham, a beautiful hillside village that takes you back in time, before we head on to the historic Faversham, that will make a great base if you want to do this at a slower pace. From the bustle of Faversham, we take you to the peace of Oare, and Oare marshes where you can pick up the Saxon Shore Way. Our final stop takes us on to Newnham, a quaint little village, with its country pub, before we return to Hollinbourne. A journey of around 40miles/65kms that will be a full day, but enjoyable

Thanks so much for watching, did you spot the squirrel? We'd love to hear from you so please leave a comment and don't forget to subscribe so you don't miss any of our travels: 🟢-

4K Exploring Kent || 4 - South Eastern Main Line - Folkestone to Sevenoaks

Before the advent of Kent High Speed, journeys were made along the South Eastern Main Line. The slower pace (and fewer barriers and tunnels) allows more of the Garden of England to be seen and appreciated, on quiet electric trains since the early 1960s.

Join me on a rail journey from Folkestone to Sevenoaks on a Class 375 Southeastern service. Starting from Folkestone we travel along the spine of Kent's railways, through the lush countryside.

60103 Flying Scotsman at Staplehurst, Sturry, Chartham & Chilham (17/3/22)

60103 Flying Scotsman at Staplehurst, Sturry, Chartham & Chilham station (17/3/22)

A3 Pacific class locomotive Flying Scotsman and Class 47 locomotive 47804 take a railtour provided by Steam Dreams from London Victoria to Canterbury West. This trip also included a circular trip around Kent from Canterbury West to Ashford International.
This was the first time that this loco had traveled to Kent in around 50 years.
Throughout the day this tour was running late by about an hour on average.
There was going to be another shot at Sturry but I think I accidentally double tapped the record button.

West St Leonards Train Station

Train Service From London Charing Cross To Hastings Calling At West St Leonards

60103 FLYING SCOTSMAN AT ASHFORD INTERNATIONAL AND CANTERBURY WEST! (17/03/22)

the one and only, world famous, LNER Flying Scotsman, has visited Kent today, along with a rake of 12 coaches and a class 47, number 47804

This beauty has travelled all over the country, and even been to the United States, Canada, and Australia on tours, which makes Flying Scotsman even more famous

Today after school, I saw Scotsman at Ashford International where I tailed her on a 377 to Canterbury West, which I got stuck behind a red signal for 10-15 minutes

Scotsman has been travelling around Kent for the entire day, even during school time, sadly schools don't allow children to bunk off school to see something like this, though some pulled a sick day, but they knew about Scotsman, and would probably know that I would be faking it

The beauty that is Kent

These are places near and around Tanner Farm, which lies in Kent. Tanner Farm is the place we (My family and me) are going to holiday this year (1st time we're going there) and for the occasion I made this video.
Now, I don't know if London lies in Kent or not, but it's most surely one of the places we are going to visit this years holiday.

I don't own any rights to the song pictures or anything else. Every right that there is go to their respectful owners (Henri, Jamers and the people who shoot the pictures and posted them on the net.)
