Exploring Shrivardhan | Somjai Devi Mandir | Peshwe Smarak | Places to Visit | Konkan Vlog |
This is Kokan Vlog 4.
We have explored Shrivardhan in this video. You will get to see Somjai Devi Mandir, Peshwe Smarak and Shree Lakshminarayan Mandir. We wanted to explore more but our car breakdown and it was sorted after 7 pm so we have to leave for Harihareshwar. People of shrivardhan are very nice as they helped us quickly.
Somjai Devi Mandir
The temple is located in an open ground along the main road. It is built on a rise and steps lead up to it. There is a modern concrete structure in front of the old tiled sanctum, built in a typical Konkani fashion.The Goddess Somjai combines in herself the four deities–Shiva, Bhavani, Vasuki and Nandi.
Peshwe Smarak
A little further on from the Somajai Temple, on the left one can see a small fortified structure, a bastion, a gate and a music gallery Although the external structure is modern the plinth is ancient. A statue of a standing Balaji Vishwanath has been placed in front. He is shown in full Maratha regalia with a sword in his hand. The whole image evokes self confidence. The seal of Balaji Vishwanath is placed below the statute. On either side are images of Chhatrapati Shahu Mahraj of Kolhapur and Brahmendra Swami There utterances in praise of Balaji have also been chiselled. on top of the gate. This appears to be a modern day construction. Inside there is a large open space and at the end of it is the small, tiled, Peshwe Temple. It was here that Peshwa Balaji Vishwanath was born in 1660.
Lakshminarayan Temple
The temple can be reached by a small path from the Peshwe temple of from the Narayan Pakhadi road. The sculpture of Lord Visnu is out of this world. It is carved out of black rock, is about two feet high, and is in the South Indian style. It must be of the Shilahar period. At the base, on the right is the garudand on left is Lakshmi. On either side are sculptures of Jay and Vijay. The ten incarnations surround the whole. From the sequence of the weapons held by Lord Vishnu ( padma, chakra, gada and shankh)the image is that of Shridhar. It is possible that it is called Lakshminarayan because of the small sculpture of Lakhsmi. The very intricate carvings of the ornaments and the weapons is astounding. Sometime during the ages the image was broken but its beauty is still unrivalled.

Harihareshwar Temple & Beach (Complete Pradakshina near Seashore)
Harihareshwar is a town in Raigad district, in Maharashtra, India. It is surrounded by three hills named Harihareshwar, Harshinachal and Pushpadri. The river Savitri enters the Arabian Sea from the town of Harihareshwar. Towards the north of the town is the temple of Lord Harihareshwar, said to have been blessed by Lord Shiva. Hence Harihareshwar is often referred to as Dev-Ghar or house of God.
Besides a major pilgrimage centre, Harihareshwar is a popular beach resort with two beaches, one to the north and the other to the south of the temple. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation has a resort on the south beach. Harihareshwar, along with Shrivardhan and Diveagar Beach forms a popular weekend beach destination from Pune (190 km) and Mumbai (210 km)

Diveagar is a popular beach destination from the nearby towns of Shrivardhan and Harihareshwar. It is also famous for a homestay, Suvarna Ganesh Mandir and Sundar Narayan and Rupnarayan Temples. 1997 a golden idol was found in Diveagar and then this village became popular for tourism.

The region includes a fishing settlement, a beach, a temple, local businesses engaged in coconut and beetle nut tree farming, and some tourism businesses such as restaurants, cottage rentals and hotels, and six villages (from north to south): Velas, Musalmāndi, Agar Panchaitan, Diveagar, Borli Panchatan, and Karle. The beach, facing the Arabian Sea, is approximately four kilometers long and undeveloped. At the north end of the beach where a small stream enters the ocean there is the fishing settlement, Velas Agar, and some paddy farming, while at the south end there is a sanctuary for migratory seabirds. Nearby, there is a small fishing village, where vendors sell fresh fish, which goes by name of Bharadkhol. The beach is accessible from the Mumbai-Goa highway via Kolad or Karnala.
The beach contains a number of suru trees (Casuarina), which are common to coastal Maharashtra. The access to the beach has a dense cover of belu trees, which are otherwise uncommon in the area.u

दापोलीच्या दक्षिणेस हर्णे गावाच्या अलीकडे वळसा घालून एक रस्ता डोंगरमाथ्यावरून आंजर्ले गावाच्या दिशेने जातो. डोंगरमाथा पार केल्याकेल्या स्तिमित करणाऱ्या विस्तीर्ण निसर्गचित्रांत आपला प्रवेश होतो.
किनाऱ्याला खेटून उभ्या असलेल्या गच्च नारळी पोफळींच्या बागा, या उंच माडांमधून येणारे विविध पक्ष्यांचे आवाज, झाडीत लपलेली टुमदार कोकणी घरं आणि कानावर सतत येणारी समुद्राची गाज... अशा ठिकाणी मन हरवून जाईल नाहीतर काय?
आंजर्ल्याच्या किनार्याचं अजून एक वैशिष्ट्य म्हणजे दरवर्षी या किनार्यावर न चुकता अंडी घालण्यासाठी येणार्या ऑलिव्ह रिडले जातीच्या कासवांच्या माद्या. अंड्यातून बाहेर पडलेल्या चिमुकल्या कासवाच्या पिल्लांना समुद्रात सोडण्यासाठी इथे दरवर्षी अनेक पर्यटक त्यांच्या कुटुंबातील लहान मुलांसह आवर्जून हजेरी लावतात. एखाद्या माहितीपटात अंड्यातून बाहेर पडलेली अंगठ्याएवढी चिमुकली कासवांची पिल्लं घाईघाईने पाण्याकडे धावतानाचा प्रसंग जरी आपण पाहिला असला तरी प्रत्यक्ष डोळ्यांनी बघण्याचा हा अनुभव खूप वेगळा, जिवंत व कायम लक्षात राहणारा असतो.
पश्चिमेचा अथांग सागर, गर्द माडांच्या गर्दीत हरवून गेलेलं आंजर्ले गाव, दूरवर दिसणारा जोग खाडीचा परिसर, डोंगरावरून खाली उतरणारा नागमोडी रस्ता, गावातून मंदिरापर्यंत वर चढत आलेली पायऱ्यांची वाट आणि गच्च झाडीने वेढलेला मंदिराचा परिसर....वर्णन करावं तेवढ थोडंच! सकल कलांचा अधिपती असणाऱ्या श्री गणेशाची स्थापना अशा सुयोग्य ठिकाणी करण्याची कल्पना ज्यांना सुचली त्यांच्या कलात्मकतेचे कौतुक करावे तेवढे थोडेच आहे.
आंजर्ले गाव हे दापोलीहून केळशीकडे जाताना साधारण १८ किमी अंतरावर लागतं. गावात प्रवेश करण्यापूर्वी उजवीकडे टेकडीवर असलेलं हे श्रीगणेशाचे जागृत देवस्थान `कड्यावरचा गणपती’ म्हणून प्रसिध्द आहे. निसर्गरम्य परिसरात वसलेल्या या मंदिराकडे जाणारा रस्ता दाट झाडीतून जातो व टेकडीवरील मंदिरापर्यंत वाहनांसाठी थेट रस्ता आहे. मंदिराची स्थापना सहाशे वर्षांपूर्वी म्हणजे इ.स. १४३० च्या सुमारास केली असावी असे मानण्यात येते.

Shrivardhan Beach is about 3 km long, very clean and very calm. mumbai to shrivardhan approx 210 km we take here some drone shots of shrivardhan beach and its very beautiful to see the beach from sky. we also travel one more beach that name is aravi beach its very beautiful beach on shrivardhan to diveaagar costal road from shrivardhan, aravi beach is 7 to 10 km only you can go here and enjoy with your family. so thats all for today i hope you like my travel vlog.
