In my tour we’ll discover Trieste, Miramare and Duino Castle, Grado, Aquileia, Palmanova, Gorizia, Cividale del Friuli, Udine, Montasio upland, Fusine and Predil Lakes, Venzone, Spilimberto, Valvasone, San Vito al Tagliamento and Sacile.
So, not only breathtaking views but also art pearls such as the elegant and discreet cities of Friuli Venezia Giulia that have traveled the world, listened to different languages, known distant cultures and religions. To understand this, just look at the Audace pier from Piazza dell'Unità d'Italia in Trieste, or walk simultaneously in Italian and Slovenian territory in the Transalpina square of Gorizia. Thus Trieste wore Habsburg clothes, Udine became the city of Tiepolo, Gorizia took the name of Austrian Nice, Pordenone oscillates between Romanesque, Baroque and Gothic influences. forgotten two UNESCO jewels such as Cividale del Friuli and Aquileia. Located on the banks of the Tagliamento river, Spilimbergo is one of the most beautiful and interesting art cities in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
It is a village of ancient origins, which grew primarily during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The centre, retaining its original medieval structure, has undergone continuous restoration work to enhance the works of artists who have succeeded each other over the centuries, including Giovanni Antonio de’ Sacchis, also known as il Pordenone, and Giovanni Antonio Pilacorte. The splendour of the past comes to life every year in August with the Historical Re-enactment of the Macia, named after an ancient unit of measurement used for fabrics also reproduced on a palazzo in Piazza del Duomo.
Peculiarities of Spilimbergo
Known throughout the world for its decorative mosaics, it is home to the prestigious Mosaic School of Friuli, an institution unique in the world founded in 1922. Today it teaches the use of Roman, Byzantine and modern mosaic techniques and it researches and experiments aesthetic and functional solutions applied to contemporary times.

Spilimbergo - Italy Walking Tour
Let's walk around Spilimbergo, a colorful small town located on the banks of the Tagliamento river, in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
Spilimbergo was an important medieval hub, as a result this small town is rich in Renaissance buildings and boasts a beautiful circular castle, where you can admire the Palazzo Dipinto (Painted Palace) sporting 15th-century frescoes all over its facade.
Spilimbergo is also known for it's Mosaic School of Friuli, a renowned training center, attracting students from all over Italy and the world.
Walking through the main street Corso Roma everywhere we'll look we'll see frescoed palazzi which house the many shops, restaurants, and bars the town offers.
The street leads to the main square where the Cathedral is located.
Not far from the church there's a small bridge and after crossing it we'll be faced with the most beautiful frescoed palazzo of Spilimbergo, the famous palazzo dipinto.
We'll end our walk with the spacious view from the Comune (Town Hall) of the town.
