Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia | Things to do in Sidi Bou Said 4K (UHD)
Sidi Bou Said is a picturesque Andalusian-style town overlooking the Mediterranean and Gulf of Tunis in northern Tunisia.
Tunisia is one of the most charming places to visit. It is known for its traditional white houses, blue doors, wrought-iron windows, cobbled alleys and gardens overflowing with bougainvillaea and other colourful flowers.
Sidi Bou Said is also famous for its art galleries, cafes, and shopping boutiques that offer a unique blend of Tunisian and Mediterranean culture.
The town was founded in 1207 when the Sufi teacher Abu Said el Baji settled there. In 1920, French painter and Baron Rodolphe d'Erlanger decided to paint his palace in blue and white, and the rest of the village followed his example. Sidi Bou Said became a bohemian place of rest and inspiration for many artists, musicians, and writers. This Tunis seaside suburb can be easily visited on day trips because it's just 19 km from the city centre.
Here are the best things to do and see in Sidi Bou Said:
1. Streets of Sidi Bou Said
2. Sidi Bou Said cafés
3. Shopping in Sidi Bou Said
4. Sidi Bou Said Beach
5. Sidi Bou Said Marina
6. Museum Dar el-Annabi
7. Art Galleries in Sidi Bou Said
8. Palace Dar Nejma Ezzahra
9. Archaeological Site of Carthage

Journey Through Tunisia - Africa Travel Documentary
Tunisia has been at the crossroads of civilizations for millennia and is a fascinating place to travel to. It’s the smallest nation in North Africa, but boasts enough history, culture, and natural beauty to match countries many times its size.
With its spectacular coastline, it’s often seen as a beach holiday destination, but venture a little further and you’ll discover a country full of vibrant cities, traditional cultures, delicious food, captivating historic sites, and friendly, welcoming people.
In this video, I’m traversing Tunisia, exploring some of the country’s most beautiful places. From the busy streets of capital Tunis to remote desert oases near Tozeur. From traditional Berber villages like Tamezret and Chenini to the long and beautiful beaches of Sousse. From the mountain scenery around Tataouine to the rolling dunes of the Sahara desert. From the relaxed vibe and friendly towns on Djerba island to the ancient archaeological sites of El Jem and Carthage. And from the impressive Great Mosque of Kairouan to the bustling alleys of Sfax’s historic medina.
This travel documentary was made in June 2023, when I had the chance to travel around Tunisia for 2,5 weeks.

Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:
We start our journey in Tunis, the vibrant capital city of Tunisia. It provides a great introduction to the country, with an intriguing historic medina, bustling markets, lively street scenes, great food and welcoming people. Not far from here are the picturesque Sidi bou Said, one of Tunisia’s most visited villages, and the ancient archaeological site of Carthage. Both can be visited as day trips from Tunis.
After renting a car, we drive South to the Berber village of Takrouna, to try some delicious home made bread. The next destination in Sousse, a popular beach vacation destination, that also offers a friendly medina, historic landmarks, and a stunning museum with spectacular mosaics.
We briefly stop in Monastir to visit the Ribat and Mausoleum of Habib Bourguiba, to many still seen as the ‘Father of the Nation’, before arriving in El Jem. This small town is home to one of the best preserved amphitheaters in the world.
Kairouan is considered the fourth holiest city in Islam, after Mecca, Medina, and Jerusalem. At the core of the city stands the imposing Great Mosque that remains an important place of worship. We also go in search of carpets here, for which Kairouan is famous.
After passing Sidi Bouzid, generally considered as the starting point of the so called Arab Spring, we continue to Tozeur, a small city on the edge of the Sahara. Reaching this far-flung outpost proved quite a challenge, as a sandstorm suddenly picked up. Around Tozeur we visit several oases, and also take a look at a former Star Wars movie set.
We cross the massive Chott el Jerid salt lake and arrive in Sabria, where we get an impression of nomadic lifestyles and ancient Bedouin culture. After riding camels, sipping tea at sunset, and a wonderful meal, we spend the night in style inside a tent camp. Next on the list are friendly Tamezret village, the peculiar hotel of Ksar Hadada, Ksar Ouled Soltane, and Chenini, which provides a great example of troglodyte housing.
The island of Djerba has a relaxed Mediterranean feel, with friendly villages, spectacular beaches, and interesting sights. We visit bustling markets, the murals and art of Djerbahood, pottery and ceramic workshops, and the beautiful El Ghriba Synagogue. We finish our journey in Sfax, an important commercial and industrial center, but also a city with a friendly, open attitude.

SIDI BOU SAID TUNISIA 2019سيدي بوسعيد
Sidi Bou Said is an absolutely beautiful town located north of Tunis, the capital of Tunisia. The town is located on top of a steep cliff, which overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. There are plenty of things to do in Sidi Bou Said and the view is phenomenal.

Go Surfing in Sidi Bouzid
Go Surfing in Sidi Bouzid - Top 12 Things to Do in El Jadida, Morocco.
If great waves are a priority, ditch Deauville in favor of the beautiful beach at Sidi Bouzid. Situated southwest of the city center, the beach features a solid right-hand point break with a reef and sand bottom. If the right-hander isn’t operating, there’s a reliable break at the spot’s second beach. Swells reach up to 10 feet in season and waves can be 330 feet (100 meters) in length. Although the beach is busy in summer, it’s usually deserted in the September to April off-season when the best waves occur. At this time, swells are driven by the prevailing southeasterly wind. Sidi Bouzid is a 15-minute taxi ride from downtown El Jadida. If you’d rather save cash, take the public Number 2 bus departing from Place Mohammed Ben Abdallah. .

TOMATO FARM - KASSERINE, TUNISIA| NORTH AFRICA| FAMILY ROAD TRIP| 4K HD VIDEO | JULY 2023
TUNISIA | UNEXPLORED LAND | NORTHERN AFRICA
A strategic location and fertile farmland have made Tunisia a much-coveted territory, captured and defended repeatedly through the ages by successive waves of invaders. The Phoenicians, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Ottomans left a legacy of ruined temples, forbidding fortresses, magnificent mosaics and ornate architecture for historically minded travellers to explore, such as at Carthage, Thuburbo Majus, Dougga and El Jem.
No less alluring are the exotic sights and sounds of the present-day country: the crowded souks of the capital Tunis, crammed with colourful goods and redolent with the rich scents of leather, spices and jasmine; the bellow of a camel at the Thursday market in Douz, and the chatter of Arabic as nomads haggle over prices; the patter of the rug and carpet sellers in Kairouan; and desert oases and date plantations around the salt flats of Chotta el Jerid.
All these and more lie within easy reach of the popular, family-friendly holiday resorts lining the Mediterranean coast, such as Hammamet, Sousse, Monastir and the island of Jerba.
Tunisia's population is concentrated in the north, particularly around Tunis and Sousse. The people themselves are a mixture of Berber and Arab, but through the centuries the Berbers have been thoroughly assimilated into the dominant Arab culture. The Berber language (which still flourishes in Algeria and Morocco) has almost died out, though traces of their former way of life survive in the ksour villages of the south. Today the main distinction is between rural and urban communities: 65 percent of the population live in towns.
In this video, we explored a Tomato farm on the way back to Khairouan from Douz. The Farm is located in Sidibouzid and was able to capture the wonderful moments with the workers. These areas are not been explored by the Tourist. We are fortunate enough to get see these and bring that to your visual field.
Hope you all enjoyed the video.
