Shri Shiv Khori cave is situated nearly 4.0 kms from Ransoo the base camp of the shrine, located in District Reasi. The distinct feature of the cave is a 4 feet high naturally formed 'Shivji Maharaj Lingam'. Other natural deities, inscribed on the stones are also present inside the cave. These deities symbolize 33 crore deities of Hindu Pantheon. The road distance from Jammu to Ransoo-via Katra (Shri Mata Vaishno Devi) is 129 kms & via Akhnoor - Bhambla, it is 112 kms and 57 Kms from Distt. HQ Reasi. Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, which was constituted in 2003 with Deputy Commissioner Udhampur (erstwhile Distt.) as Chairman & SDM Reasi as its Member Secretary. Subsequently on 11th February 2008, J&K State legislature passed an Act-namely The Jammu & Kashmir Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Act -2008 for better management, administration & governance of Shri Shiv Khori Shrine.

The term 'Kulgam' signifies the combination of the words 'Kul', meaning 'Whole', and 'Gam', which translates to 'teach righteousness' in Arabic.
Hazrat Amir Kabir Mir Syed Ali Hamdani (RA) and the mystical poetess Lal Ded were invited to Kulgam by Mir Syed Hussain Simnania (RA). In Kulgam, their disciples, such as Sheikh Noor-ud-din Noorani (RA), played a significant role in promoting and encouraging the composite culture, even when dissension in other Asiatic countries was considered heretical. Kulgam is regarded as a place that serves as a torch-bearer for righteousness.
The creation of district Kulgam, along with seven other newly established districts in the state, was driven by administrative convenience and the goal of bringing administration closer to the people for their development and betterment. It was carved out from District Anantnag and became administratively functional on 2nd April, 2007.
The town of Kulgam, which serves as the district headquarters, is located approximately 68 kilometers away from Srinagar and 17 kilometres away from Anantnag. Geographically, the district is situated between 330 –15’ North Latitude and 740-35’ East Longitude. It is bordered by Anantnag and Shopian districts to the east and north respectively. To the south and southwest, it is bounded by Reasi, Ramban, and Rajouri districts, separated by the imposing Pirpanjal mountain range, which acts as a formidable topographic barrier. The district is well-connected to neighboring districts such as Shopian, Pulwama, Anantnag, and Ramban through a reliable road network. Nallah Veshav, originating from the northern face of Pir Panjal, is the main left bank tributary of the river Jehlum and flows through District Kulgam. Before merging with the Jehlum, the Veshu splits into several channels, providing drinking water to a large population in the district and irrigation facilities to extensive agricultural lands.
In addition to the aforementioned places of spiritual significance, such as Mir Syed Hussain Simnania (RA) in Kulgam and Sheikhul Alam (RA) in Gofbal Bogund Qaimoh, the district also boasts several tourist attractions. One such attraction is the Aherbal Water Fall located on Veshu Nallah, which offers breathtaking views in the extreme South-West of Kulgam. Other notable tourist spots include Kung-Watan and Gurwatan beyond Aherbal, as well as Charebal and Nandimarg highland pastures. The district is also home to pristine meadows stretching from 'Kund' to 'Ladigasan' (beyond Aherbal Clefts). Moreover, the district is blessed with an abundance of natural and fresh water resources, including famous springs like Kounsarnag (beyond Aherbal), Waseknag (Kund), and Khee Nag (Khee Jogipora).

Shopian, formerly known as 'Sheen-e-van' meaning 'forest of snow', is a historically significant town that has gained prominence since the time of Mughal rulers. It served as one of the six Wazarat Headquarters in Kashmir from 1872-1892 A.D. Situated in the foothills of the Pirpanchal range, the majority of Shopian's terrain is hilly. Covering an area of 30,741.6 hectares, it is located 51 km away from the city of Srinagar.
Shopian holds great historical importance as it lies on the ancient imperial road, commonly known as Mughal Road. It was through this town that Imam Shahi Hamadan entered the Kashmir valley to spread the message of Islam. The District Headquarter, Shopian Town, is positioned at an elevation of 2146 meters above sea level, 51 km away from Srinagar and 20 km from Pulwama. It has well-established road connectivity with Anantnag and Kulgam, dating back several decades.
Currently, the District of Shopian comprises two Assembly Constituencies, nine Tehsils, eight CD Blocks, including Shopian and a part of Keller Block. It also has one Municipal Committee with 13 Wards, 43 Patwar Halqas, and 231 inhabited villages. As per the census conducted in 2011, the total population of the District is 2.66 lacs, with 15% belonging to the Scheduled Tribes. Approximately 95% of the population resides in rural areas, and the literacy rate stands at 62.49%.
Shopian is renowned for housing the Holy Relic of Prophet Mohammad (SAW) at khankah Pinjoora. It is also known as the Apple Bowl of the state due to its prominence in the Horticulture Sector. The district offers immense potential for the expansion of the fruit industry under various schemes, which can contribute to the economic growth of not only Shopian but the entire state.
With its lush green forests, particularly in areas like Sedow, Hirpora, and Keller, the district boasts breath-taking scenic beauty. Developing these villages and areas as tourist destinations will further enhance tourism in the district, leading to the economic development of its people.

This video presents the complete guided tour of Kashmir, covering all tourist places and hill stations of entire Kashmir. We will first see Doodhpathri hill station and take a pony ride till milky river. We will then proceed to Sonmarg to enjoy magnificent views of the mountains. We will then take a pony ride to Thajiwas glacier. We will then go to Zero point through Cab and enjoy beautiful views of Baltal valley and Indus river on the way. We will then go to see Pahalgam where we will see Aru Valley, Betaab Valley, Chandanwari, Mini Zoo, Lidder River, Mamaleshwar Mata Mandir and Gauri Shankar Mandir. We will also take a pony ride to Baisaran which is referred as Mini Switzerland due to it's topographical similarities. We will then go to stay in JKTDC run Kokernag hotel in the mid of Botanical Garden and also see trout fish farm which is Asia's largest trout fish farm.

Pasha Marg, most underrated trekking place in Shopian Kashmir.
Pasha Marg or more aptly Pasha Top located at an elevation of 3876 mtrs is a place where you wonder how on God's earth you could miss this place located so close you.
Shahnawaz, Nakash, Mukhtar, Javaid, Yasir and myself (Muazzam) were unsure till 10:15 about the destination of our outing. As it was too late for us to embark on some long hike, we drove from our homes to Helipad in Shupyen. We had a brief chat. And got in our vehicles headed westward on the Mughal Road. At around 11:15 we were in Dongi Marg scratching our heads as to where to go. Nanga Pahad? No. Seemcore? No. Noori Chamb? No. Hike to Pasha Marg. Yes.
So Pasha Marg it was. We parked our vehicles in Lay By area on the road and started in right earnest for we were fairly late. It was 11:20 and we started our hike from 3178 meters up a steep ridge, crossed snowy patches, negotiated bushy nullahs had lunch midway and in less than 3 hours found ourselves dazed by the sheer beauty of the small meadow. All through the hike we couldn't take our eyes off the mesmerising landscape around. The trail offers many vantage points where from peaks as distant as Nun, Kun, Kolahai and other prominent peaks to the East and North of Kistwar, Warwan and Zanskar valleys are visible. Needless to say that one could see the snowcapped Nanga Pahad, Tikyar Peak, Rainyoor(Raineera), Hasti Wanj, Hapat Nar, ridges of Rupri Gali and in distance the mighty Bramasakli peaks.
At Pasha Marg, we clicked customary pics and shot some videos of the surroundings and ourselves. We offered prayers and thanked our Lord for letting us see His charms.
We descended back to the trail head and drove back to our homes happy and blessed.
