Wujiang District, affiliated to Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, is located in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, bordering Shanghai in the east, Taihu Lake in the west, Zhejiang in the south, and the main urban area of Suzhou in the north. The total area of the district is 1,176 square kilometers, of which the water area is 26,700 hectares, accounting for 22.70% of the total area of the city (excluding the water surface of Taihu Lake under its jurisdiction). The main scenic spots are: Tongli Town Tuisi Garden, Shijian Hall, Ciyun Temple Pagoda, Ciyun Temple, Xiancan Temple, Gengle Hall, Lize Girls’ School Site, Dongmiao Bridge, Siben Bridge, Lili Town etc., as well as intangible cultural heritage such as Luxu folk songs, Tongli Xuanjuan, and Tongluo rice wine brewing techniques.

Chengguan District (also Lhasa Urban District) is the main urban area or the city proper of Lhasa, which means “city pass district” in Tibetan, referring to the city’s location nestled between two mountain ridges. It is located in the midstream of Lhasa River, the tributary of Yarlung Zangbu River. At the altitude of 3650 meters, Chengguan District covers an area of 523 square kilometers and has a population of 279 thousand(2013). First built in 1740s, it’s a summer resort for emperors to escape the heat and deal with the political affairs.

Ship Spotting on the Thames
Ship spotting on the Thames. For a change of scene I though I would have a go at filming a different form of transport than my normal fare of railways and aviation. As I live not far from the Thames I made way way down to the river close to the new London Gateway Container Terminal. I also crossed the river over to Kent to near Cliffe to do some filming. I hope you enjoy the results. The ships filmed on this occasion were the Polar Peru, Navios Arc, MSC Elodie and the MSC Regina. The UASC Umm Qasr can also be seen bathed at London Gateway.
