The Guanacaste Province is located in the northwest region of Costa Rica. It is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, the province of Alajuela to the east, and the Guanacaste Mountain Range to the north. The provincial capital is Liberia.
The Guanacaste Province was first settled by the Spanish in 1524. The province was originally known as Santa Cruz de Castilla. In 1824, the province was renamed Guanacaste. The province was divided into two districts: Nicoya and Santa Cruz.
The Guanacaste Province has a rich history. The province was home to several important battles during the Costa Rican Civil War (1948-1949). The most important battle took place in the town of Santa Cruz. The battle was fought between the National Liberation Army (Ejército de Liberación Nacional - ELN) and the Costa Rican government forces. The ELN was eventually defeated and the province returned to peace.
Today, Guanacaste Province is known for its beautiful province with plenty of natural attractions.

COSTA RICA ROAD TRIP 🇨🇷 Playa Conchal + Tamarindo | Vero and Justin (Travel vlog video)
Watch in 4K ✧ Road trip day 3/10. In this December 2020 Costa Rica travel vlog, we visited Playa Conchal seashell beach and drove to Tamarindo beach! We had a blast driving through this luscious green country!
After spending two nights in La Fortuna, we made our way to the cute beach town Tamarindo. We had initially planned to hike Tenorio Volcano and see the Rio Celeste waterfall, but the rainy weather changed our plans. The waterfall is usually a vivid blue but when it rains, it turns to brown. Plus, the rain adds two hours to the already 3 hours hike because of all the mud. Instead, we drove to the Pacific Coast where the weather was warmer- and sunnier ☀️Our first stop led us to Puerto Viejo where we walked 25min. along the beach to Playa Conchal. We then drove our final stop- Tamarindo, where we finally ate lunch, chilled on the beach, and surprise- got engaged ❤️💍

Hi everyone! We're Vero and Justin, Canadians in their early thirties who love to travel and share their experience through videos. Last year we wanted to take 2020 off from our 9-5 jobs and go travel in Europe with our lil dog, Ember. The uncertainty of COVID brought us back home only 1.5 months into our travels.
