Nanhai District, a district under the jurisdiction of Foshan City, Guangdong Province, is located in the south-central part of Guangdong Province, the hinterland of the Pearl River Delta, and the northeast of Foshan City. It is adjacent to Guangzhou City in the east, Sanshui District and Gaoming District in the west, Shunde District in the south, Pengjiang District and Heshan City in Jiangmen City across the Xijiang River, Huadu District in Guangzhou City in the north, and Chancheng District in the middle and south. The total area of the jurisdiction is 1073.82 square kilometers. As of June 2020, Nanhai District has a total of 1 street and 6 towns under its jurisdiction. At the end of 2019, the permanent population of Nanhai District was 3.0317 million.
The South China Sea has a long history and culture. It is one of the birthplaces of the Pearl River civilization and a typical representative of Lingnan culture. Since the establishment of the county in the Sui Dynasty, the South China Sea has been at the center of Lingnan's politics, economy, and culture. 湛江市簡稱湛，別稱港城，舊稱廣州灣（Kwangchouwan），是廣東省下轄的地級市，廣東省域副中心城市，北部灣及粵西城鎮群中心城市[5]，地處中國大陸最南端的雷州半島，廣東、廣西、海南三省（區）交匯處，東北鄰茂名市，西北接廣西壯族自治區玉林市、北海市，東瀕南海，南隔瓊州海峽與海南島相望，西臨北部灣，市民政府駐赤坎區躍進路67號。
湛江市的徐聞古港，是漢代海上絲路最早始發港。 湛江歷史代表文化為雷州文化，部分地區亦受高涼文化影響。
湛江在1899年曾為法國租借地而正式開埠通商。作為中國大陸通往東南亞、中東、歐洲、非洲和大洋洲海上航程最短的口岸，湛江是中國東南沿海重要的港口城市及全國性綜合交通樞紐，中國首批沿海開放城市，海軍南海艦隊司令部所在地。
經專家研究論證，今遂溪縣江洪鎮的鯉魚墩貝丘遺址是距今7000年至8000年前新石器時代的人類居住遺址，是雷州半島最早有人類居住的地方。春秋戰國時期，今湛江轄地為百越境。秦屬象郡。漢元鼎六年（前111年），南部徐聞、雷州、遂溪屬交趾部徐聞縣；北部吳川、廉江分屬交趾部高涼縣和合浦縣。以後，南部三縣先後屬交州、越州、合州、南合州、東合州。唐貞觀八年（634年），改東合州為雷州，統管雷州半島三縣，直至清代；北部吳川、廉江先後屬廣州、羅州、化州，至明清屬高州。
1899年11月，法國政府與清政府簽訂《中法互訂廣州灣租界條約》，將雷州府遂溪縣、高州府吳川縣兩縣所屬部分陸地、島嶼以及兩縣間的麻斜海灣（今湛江港）劃為法國租借地，統稱“廣州灣”，劃入法屬印度支那聯邦範圍，設廣州灣行政總公使署，受法屬印度支那總督管轄。 1943年2月，太平洋戰爭時期，被日本軍隊佔領。

Zhanjiang City, also known as the Port City and formerly known as Guangzhou Bay (Kwangchouwan), is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province, a sub-central city of Guangdong Province, and a central city of the Beibu Bay and Yuexi town cluster[5]. It is located on the Leizhou Peninsula at the southernmost tip of mainland China, at the intersection of Guangdong, Guangxi and Hainan provinces (regions). It is adjacent to Maoming City in the northeast, Yulin City and Beihai City in the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the northwest, the South China Sea in the east, Hainan Island across the Qiongzhou Strait in the south, and Beibu Bay in the west. The municipal government is located at No. 67, Yuejin Road, Chikan District.
The Xuwen Ancient Port in Zhanjiang City was the earliest starting port of the Maritime Silk Road in the Han Dynasty. Zhanjiang's historical representative culture is the Leizhou culture, and some areas are also influenced by the Gaoliang culture.
Zhanjiang was a French concession in 1899 and was officially opened to trade. As the shortest sea voyage from mainland China to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe, Africa and Oceania, Zhanjiang is an important port city on the southeast coast of China and a national comprehensive transportation hub. It is one of the first coastal open cities in China and the headquarters of the Navy's South China Sea Fleet.
According to expert research and argumentation, the Liyudun Shell Mound Site in Jianghong Town, Suixi County today is a human settlement site from the Neolithic Age 7,000 to 8,000 years ago, and is the earliest place inhabited by humans on the Leizhou Peninsula. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the current Zhanjiang area was under the jurisdiction of Baiyue. It belonged to Xiangjun in the Qin Dynasty. In the sixth year of Yuanding of the Han Dynasty (111 BC), Xuwen, Leizhou and Suixi in the south belonged to Xuwen County of Jiaozhi; Wuchuan and Lianjiang in the north belonged to Gaoliang County and Hepu County of Jiaozhi respectively. Afterwards, the three counties in the south belonged to Jiaozhou, Yuezhou, Hezhou, Nanhezhou and Donghezhou successively. In the eighth year of Zhenguan of the Tang Dynasty (634), Donghezhou was changed to Leizhou, which governed the three counties of Leizhou Peninsula until the Qing Dynasty; Wuchuan and Lianjiang in the north belonged to Guangzhou, Luozhou and Huazhou successively, and belonged to Gaozhou until the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

Shanghai China Yuyuan Garden ☂
☂ On a rainy day we visited the Yu or Yuuan Garden. a famous classical Chinese garden located in Anren Jie, Shanghai. The garden was finished in 1577 by a government officer of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) named Pan Yunduan. Yu in Chinese means pleasing and satisfying, and this garden was specially built for Pan's parents as a place for them to enjoy a tranquil and happy time in their old age.
In the 400 years of existence, Yuyuan Garden had undergone many changes. During the late Ming Dynasty, it became somewhat dilapidated with the decline of Pan's family. In 1760, some rich merchants bought it and spent more than 20 years reconstructing the buildings. During the Opium War of the 19th century, it was severely damaged. The garden you see today is the result of a five year restoration project which began in 1956. It was open to the public in September, 1961.
Yuyuan Garden occupies an area of 20,000 square meters (about five acres). However, the small size is not a representative of the attractions of the garden. The pavilions, halls, rockeries, ponds and cloisters all have unique characteristics. There are six main scenic areas here: Sansui Hall, Wanhua Chamber, Dianchun Hall, Huijing Hall, Yuhua Hall and the Inner Garden. Each area features several scenic spots within its borders.

市師雞的由來，那一段所謂的」愛情故事「傳聞實在太過廣為流傳地被津津樂道，不說也罷。
倒是根據一段週穎康的訪談裡提到，其祖父週我國，於民國10年，即1921年，與摯友王馨合股在如今北京路西側的書院街成立“馨記”，辛亥革命後，國民 政府在越秀書院街設立“市立師範學院”，簡稱市師。
「馨記」白切雞是用雞骨熬煮的湯浸製而成，斬件去大骨，配蜆蠔醬、薑蓉、因雞味醇和，皮脆肉滑，深受市民喜愛，因 地頭現成，以「市師雞」命名，並口耳相傳，名聲遠播。
「馨記市師雞」第二代傳人是周我國的兒子周大可，週穎康說周大可曾任鹿鳴酒家、越秀山聽雨軒總廚。
既以”市師範學院“的由來為名，我想起廣州是1918年成立市政公所，1921年才設市的，為此，特意查過“市立師範學院”、“廣東省立廣州女子師範學校” 的選址、遷址等校史，市立師範學校，以雙門底原粵秀書院舊址（雙門底的名字幾次更迭，從永清路到永漢路，上世紀60年代正式叫做北京路 ）為校址，於1921年10月12日開學。

三水区是中国广东省佛山市的一个市辖区，位于广东省的中部偏西、佛山市境西北部，地处珠三角的腹地，因西江、北江、绥江汇流境内而得名。总面积874.22平方公里，2015年全区常住人口为64万人。三水是著名的侨乡，现居港澳台及海外的三水籍人士有20多万人。
三水区白坭镇银洲贝丘遗址证明，早在4000多年前的新石器时代，三水已经有人类居住活动。
秦代至明朝中期（公元前221年至公元1525年）分别属高要县、番禺县和南海县管辖。
公元1526年6月10日（明嘉靖五年五月癸未）始置三水县，因位置处于西江、北江和绥江三江汇流县境，取“三水合流”之意而得名。
1959年3月2日，三水县被并入南海县。1960年9月30日，恢复三水县建制。1993年3月29日，撤县建市（县级）。2002年12月8日，中华人民共和国国务院批准调整佛山市行政区划：撤销县级三水市，设立佛山市三水区。2003年1月8日，三水区正式挂牌成立，成为佛山市五个辖区之一。
西南街道是中华人民共和国广东省佛山市三水区下辖的一个街道办事处。位于北江和西南涌的交汇处，是三水区政府驻地。辖区总面积178平方公里，常住人口20万人，外来人口12万人。2008年全镇国内生产总值202亿元人民币。
西南街道下辖以下村级行政区划单位：
云秀社区、文锋西社区、文锋东社区、月桂社区、园林社区、桥头社区、康华社区、沙头社区、张边社区、布心社区、河口社区、董营村、高丰村、横涌村、邓岗村、石湖洲村、宝月村、大塱山村、青岐村、鲁村、南岸村、五顶岗村、洲边村、江根村和木棉村。
方言
西南街道通行粤语（广府片）广州方言。
历史事件
清代咸丰年间，原西南街当时有1条米街，有多家米店，仅春米工人就有数十人。他们由于不愿受资本家的压榨剥削，在咸丰五年（1855年），以徐东海为首的工人组织“万福堂”，发动工人与资本家作斗争，后徐东海被捕入狱。咸丰十年（1860年）十月“万福堂的叶仕状，杨金水又发动工人罢工，迫使文通米行停工3日。次年四月，仁兴、同茂米店又因工人罢工被追停业，结果叶仕状，杨金水被捕入狱。这是三水县最早的工人斗争。
文物古迹
铁炮
1981年，在西南镇区原象鼻岗耕牛市场（今党校东侧）出土。为火药炮，俗称“猪仔炮”。其中7门重600千克，长195~198厘米，口径10~10.5厘米。炮上铭文为“西南街坊奉宪铸造铁炮，一千斤，咸丰八年二月吉日”。另七门重250~350千克，长170厘米，口径12厘米，有2门长104~150厘米，口径6~7厘米。据研究，这些铁炮是清代统治者要西南 [4] 人民出资铸造，用来防御农民起义军的.现有部分放置西南公园，供游人观赏。
邓培故居
邓培故居位于广东省佛山市三水区西南街道石湖洲村委会邓关村北部，为清同治年间邓培祖父所建。1994年公布（三府发[1994]33号）为第二批三水市（县）级文物保护单位，2006年公布（佛府[2006]124号）为第四批佛山市文物保护单位。该民居坐北向南，面宽15.96米，进深11.34米，硬山顶，平脊，人字封火山墙，青砖墙，抬梁式结构，天井花岗岩铺地，客厅西侧建有一展厅，展厅内陈列“邓培生平事迹展”。
南北朝时期（420-589年）时，西南街道已有民居。
明代中叶，成为繁荣商埠，称西南街。
明嘉靖五年（1526年），三水建县时，设西南街门巡检司、驿站。
清末，设有佐堂（副县衙）。
民国十年（1921年），建镇，直属县府。
民国二十七年（1938年），三水沦陷，县城毁于战火。
民国三十四年（1945年），抗日战争胜利后，县治迁此。
1950年，设镇。
1987年3月，高丰镇并入，仍称西南镇。
2000年时，西南街道分属西南街道、河口街道、金本街道、青岐镇。
2002年，撤销河口街道，建置河口镇；撤销青岐镇，并至西南街道。
2003年，撤销河口镇、金本街道，并至西南街道。
