Italian Riviera Travel Guide — 2023 LIST OF BEST BEACHES IN LIGURIA, FROM SOUTH TO NORTH, BEST BEACHES IN NORTHERN ITALY. Best of the Italian Riviera!
#1 LERICI Best beaches Italian Riviera. Lerici, Italy. Near Cinque Terre.
If you’re looking for the most beautiful beach in Italy, you need to consider Lerici Lido Beach Club for beautiful beach travel with more Italians. This Italy vlog shows you Lerici’s long, wide sandy beach. This Liguria vlog shows you the view across the turquoise Bay of Poets to Porto Venere. Italy best beaches must include the lovely public beaches in Lerici. Lerici's long promenade to San Terenzo lets you do the Passegiata an iconic stroll and element of Italian life. Feel the Dolce Vita! One of the best sandy beaches in Italy!
#2 SESTRI LEVANTE Top beach in Italy near hiking. Sestri Levante, Italy - Baia del Silenzio
Sestri Levante is an old-school seaside resort. Hiding behind the town center is the hidden gem of the Bay of Silence. La Baia del Silenzio - a beautiful crescent shaped beach. In this travel vlog you’ll also see the short hike to Punta Manara with a stunning view down to the Bay of Silence and Sestri Levante.
#3. PARAGGI beach. Best beach in Italy near Portofino. Paraggi, Italy on the Italian Riviera is another rare sandy beach in a protected nature zone. Motorboats are forbidden. Explore by kayak or SUP. Do open water swimming. This Italy vlog shows you how in summer, beach clubs crowd the sand. A tiny sliver of a beach in-between the beach clubs or rock shelves act as the public beach. Best in off-season.
#3.5 NIASCA. Best beach Liguria for water sports. Niasca, Italy Paraggi’s little sister beach
Niasca is a hidden gem on the same protected bay as Paraggi..
#4 CAMOGLI. Best beach Italy Riviera. Camogli, Italy - Spiaggia LIbera.
The beach fronts one of the most beautiful fishing villages in Italy. The dramatic side-drop of the mountain of Portofino National Park makes the setting of this beach really unique. See in this Italy beach vlog how even though it’s a rocky, this beach ends in soft pebbles at the shore. Depth drops steeply, with lots of fish.
#5 BOGLIASCO. Best beach near Genoa. Bogliasco Sotto La Chiesa Beach. Italian Riviera.
This tiny public beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy named for its position directly below Maria Santissima Church. Beautiful turquoise water! Located at the bottom of stairs this hidden gem is one of our favorites. A tip from this Italy beach vlog — When you’re in Bogliasco, be sure to stop by Panificio Stea. They make the best focaccia we’ve tasted in all of eastern Liguria.
#6. NERVI. Best beach for the rock shelf style beach. Nervi Italian Riviera near Genoa.
Another beautiful beach in our Italy beach vlog. Nervi is a suburb of Genoa. Very charming port and promenade called Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi. Bagni Medusa is both a beach club and a restaurant. This beach is all rock! Locals make a beach of rock because in Italy one says, “Andiamo al Mare” - let’s go to the sea, rather than let’s go to the beach. Even these beaches are the best of the Italian riviera!
Bonus Beach! Best beach Italy Riviera for dogs. SANTA MARGHERITA LIGURE, Italy. Dog Beach. Bau Bau Beach in Santa Margherita. No Italy beach vlog with Italy best beaches would be complete without a dog beach!
THE ITALIAN BEACH CLUB. THE LIDO. ITALIAN RIVIERA BEACH CLUBS.
Italy’s beaches are public land, but the government sells concessions to businesses who charge entrance fees in the summer. Those fees in the Italian Riviera of Liguria start at 30 euros for two people up to 300 euros. A unique aspect of Italian beach culture. Enjoy the best beaches in Northern Italy, some of Italy’s best beaches!

San Remo, Italy - Must See Places
San Remo, located on the west coast of Italy in the province of Liguria, is a beautiful town and the capital of the Riviera dei Fiori (Riviera of Flowers). The city is famous for its large flower market, one of the biggest in Europe and definitely worth visiting. San Remo is also well-known for hosting an Italian music festival every spring. The town boasts beautiful gardens, stunning architecture, and breathtaking views. It's the perfect place to spend a day relaxing by the clean sea and sandy beaches with your family.
Things to do and see in San Remo:
The Casino of San Remo has always been one of the town's main attractions. Built in 1905, this enormous white building stands out proudly, enticing those who wish to try their luck. The French architect Eugenio Ferret designed the casino in its current Art-Nouveau style.
If you're in San Remo during the festival dates, the San Remo Music Festival is worth checking out. The competition takes place inside the Ariston Theatre.
La Pigna, which means The Pinecone, is the oldest part of the city and dates back to the 11th century. This area is known for its narrow streets, covered alleyways, and winding roads that lead up to the gardens and sanctuary at the top of the hill. The district is a labyrinth of secret shortcuts, stacked houses, tunnels, and narrow passages that ultimately lead to the city's highest point, the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa.
Madonna della Costa Sanctuary, on the hilltop above La Pigna, can be seen from most places in San Remo and symbolizes the city. A beautiful cobblestone mosaic dating from 1651 leads the way to the sanctuary. The dome atop the sanctuary was erected between 1770 and 1775.
One of the city's landmarks, a witness to the presence of a Russian community in Sanremo, is the Russian Orthodox Church. A church wanted by Tsarina Maria Alexandrovna after she visited Sanremo and was built 30 years after she died in 1913. Busts represent the king of Italy, Vittorio Emanuele III, and his wife, Elena of Montenegro, daughter of Nicholas I, in front of the church.
The Gardens of Queen Elena are located on top of the hill above La Pigna. Created in 1890, they are filled with informal clusters of thick trees and idyllic walkways. From there, you will love the breathtaking view of the roofs of the old town and the Gulf of Sanremo.
Near the old port of San Remo is the Fort of Santa Tecla. The fort was used as a prison between 1864 and 1997. After serving as a prison for many years, the building is now undergoing complete renovation and will be repurposed for tourism and cultural activities.
On the northern corner of Piazza Eroi Sanremesi, there are public markets. This covered market is the pulse of San Remo. It offers fruits, vegetables, cheeses, bread, homemade pasta, fish, and wines. Outside, you get (on Thursday and Saturday) a range of clothing and leather for reasonable prices. With many things to do and see in San Remo, it is a trendy tourist city in Italy. Whether you're looking for arts, music or history, the city has something for everyone. With its harbour full of restaurants and cafes, San Remo will be worth visiting if you're looking for a great place to spend a day or two.

Sanremo Italy, San Remo Italian Riviera - 4K #sanremo #italy #italianriviera #liguria #cotedazur
Sanremo or San Remo is a city and comune on the Mediterranean coast of Liguria, in northwestern Italy. Founded in Roman times, it has a population of 55,000, and is known as a tourist destination on the Italian Riviera. It hosts numerous cultural events, such as the Sanremo Music Festival and the Milan–San Remo cycling classic.
Sanremo's Mediterranean climate and attractive seacoast setting on the Italian Riviera make it a popular tourist destination. Besides tourism, the city is active in the production of extra virgin-grade olive oil.
The Municipal Casino, built in 1905, is an example of Art Nouveau building. The Ariston Theatre offers annual series of concerts, operas and theatre plays. The Symphony Orchestra is one of twelve symphony orchestras recognized by the state of Italy; it performs some 120 concerts throughout the year, most in the Municipal Casino's Opera Theatre.
Walking tour in the charming town of Sanremo, in Liguria province, in Italy.
I went there for the first time without any expectations and I left with plenty of good vibes in my heart. The people, the shopping streets, the narrow streets with their restaurants and cafes, the orange trees, the harbour ... I liked them all.
Unfortunately I didn't get the chance to see everything I wanted to see because I had to travel back to Nice where I was based for my vacation on Côte d'Azur.
One day I will be back for more.

🇮🇹 Sanremo Italy Walking Tour: A Must-See Adventure!
The old town of Sanremo was built on hills - so it is worth spending a bit of time and energy to be able to see the whole city from such a perspective, especially since there is a park with viewpoints at the top. kilometers west are very apt. Narrow streets, atmospheric alleys, old houses - all these contribute to the atmosphere of this place. And when we add the smell of floating coffee to this set, the buzz of conversations and lost tourists, we will be able to fully feel the atmosphere of Sanremo. The city's promenade almost adjoins the Old Town, so an inseparable element of Italian holidays is aimlessly wandering the streets and watching the everyday life of Italians. Discover Sanremo ITALY: The Ultimate Guide to Italy's Coastal Beauty
Sanremo is a coastal city in the Liguria region of northwestern Italy, best known for its music festival, flower production, and stunning Mediterranean charm. Here’s an overview of Sanremo's key highlights:
1. Sanremo Music Festival
Sanremo is world-renowned for its annual **Sanremo Music Festival** (Festival della Canzone Italiana di Sanremo), which began in 1951. This prestigious event is Italy’s most important music competition and has influenced European pop music. The festival takes place at the *Ariston Theatre* and serves as a platform for both emerging and well-known artists, often determining Italy's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.
2. Tourism & Landmarks
- *La Pigna*: The old town of Sanremo, known as *La Pigna*, features narrow winding streets, medieval architecture, and vibrant history. It's a maze of alleys, stone houses, and tiny squares, perfect for exploring traditional Italian culture.
- *Sanremo Casino*: Built in 1905, the *Casino di Sanremo* is one of the oldest and most famous in Europe. It blends elegance and historical grandeur and continues to attract visitors for gambling and entertainment.
- *Villa Nobel*: Once home to Alfred Nobel, the inventor of dynamite and founder of the Nobel Prize, this villa is now a museum dedicated to his life and inventions. It also showcases beautiful gardens and an incredible view of the Ligurian Sea.
- *Russian Orthodox Church of San Basilio*: Sanremo is home to a beautiful Russian Orthodox Church, built in 1913. Its distinctive onion domes reflect the city's historical connection to Russian aristocrats who once vacationed there.
3. The Flowers of Sanremo
Sanremo is also known as the *City of Flowers* due to its large flower production, particularly *carnations, roses*, and exotic blooms. The city plays a vital role in Italy’s flower industry and even hosts an annual flower parade known as the *Sanremo in Fiore*, which involves elaborately decorated floral floats.
4. Beaches and Outdoor Activities
Sanremo enjoys a mild Mediterranean climate, making it a year-round destination. The city offers sandy beaches and promenades along the Ligurian Sea. The *Pista Ciclabile del Parco Costiero della Riviera dei Fiori* is a popular cycling path that stretches along the coast, providing stunning sea views.
5. Sanremo's Cuisine
Sanremo is part of Liguria, a region famous for its *pesto*, olive oil, and seafood. Visitors can enjoy local specialties like *trofie al pesto* (a traditional pasta dish with pesto sauce), fresh fish, and *focaccia*. Local Ligurian wines also pair well with meals, enhancing the gastronomic experience.
6. Events and Culture
- *Sanremo Rally*: Another important event is the *Rallye Sanremo*, a rally race that forms part of the European Rally Championship and attracts motorsport fans worldwide.
- *Sanremo Carnival*: A vibrant celebration featuring costumes, parades, and floats, reflecting the city's cultural festivities.
7. Proximity to French Riviera
Sanremo’s location near the French border makes it a gateway to the famous *French Riviera*. It's only a short drive from Nice and Monaco, offering a convenient stop for travelers exploring the Mediterranean coast.
8. Shopping and Nightlife
Sanremo offers excellent shopping experiences with a mix of luxury boutiques and local shops. *Corso Matteotti* is the main shopping street, lined with stores, cafes, and restaurants. The city also offers vibrant nightlife options, especially during the music festival season, with plenty of bars and entertainment venues.
Sanremo is a blend of history, culture, entertainment, and natural beauty, making it a must-visit destination on Italy's Ligurian coast.
