In Anomabo, you can find the 'Heroes Garden'. This garden entails the 'Memorial Garden of Return' and the 'Year of Return Ghana' .
The 'The Memorial Garden of Return' is dedicated to some heroes who have contributed immensely to the growth of the Gold Coast and Ghana.
These heroes include;
-Dr. James Emman Kwegyir Aggrey,
-Nana Amonu IV,
-George Ekem Ferguson
It was constructed by the then Development Chief of Anomabo and was formally called 'Heroes Park'.
The other section of the garden, which is the 'Year of Return Ghana' also has statues of our brothers and sisters in the diaspora who discovered their roots in Ghana and came back during the Year of Return in 2019.
The history about the contributions those heroes are worth highlighting and this site is a must visit for all.

Travel Light is a tourist group made up of a team of tourism marketers from the premium University of Ghana, Legon. All teammates are endowed with significant knowledge in tourism insights and are hoping/ensuring to add and create a valuable change in marketing the tourist site and attractions of Shai Hills and perhaps influence a difference in the overall tourism of Ghana.
The Shai people (Ga-Adangbe) are believed to have come from Israel. From the descendants of the seventh son of Jacob's second wife Rachel in the holy bible story. There were six groups who came from the descendants of Israel and thus Kpo, Nungo, Ada, Osuboku, Krobo, and Shai. There was an ethnic quarrel or disagreement amongst the six groups which made each disperse to other locations. This happened alongside a river and was named Lorlorvor which means no love. The Ga's then came to Osuboku Hills to live. Although there were other natives living they made their permanent stay at ‘Doryu’ a while. Doryumu is the focus of our tourist destination as far as Shai Hills is concerned.
Shai Hills Resource Reserve, also known as Shai Hills Reserve is a protected area located in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, West Africa. It is situated about 50 kilometers north of the capital city, Accra, and covers an area of approximately 51 square kilometers. The Shai Hills Reserve was established in 1962 as one of the earliest wildlife conservation areas in Ghana. The reserve is named after the Shai people, an ethnic group who traditionally inhabited the area. It holds historical and cultural significance due to the presence of ancient caves, rock formations, and archaeological sites that date back to prehistoric times.
