This is walking tour in Budapet, Hungary from the Opera House to St. Stephen's Basilica. The renovation at the Opera House finished in March of 2022. It looked impressive before but now even more so. I will also go inside to show the entrance section before going to one of my favorite streets in Budapest, Lazar Utca. Here you have a view of the Basilica in between the street. Finally ending at the St. Stephen's Basilica Square.

We will cover all the must-see highlights in Budapest city centre, including of course Buda Castle, the majestic parliament building and St. Stephen Basilika. St. Stephen's Cathedral is the mother church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first a parish church consecrated in 1147.
St. Stephen's Cathedral is the most important religious building in Vienna. It has borne witness to many important events in Habsburg and Austrian history and has, with its multi-coloured tile roof, become one of the city's most recognisable symbols.
