Places to see in ( Ramsey - UK )
Ramsey is a small market town and civil parish in Cambridgeshire, England. The town is about 9 miles north of Huntingdon in the non-metropolitan district and former county of Huntingdonshire, which since 1974 has been part of Cambridgeshire. Ramsey parish includes the settlements of Ramsey Forty Foot, Ramsey Heights, Ramsey Mereside, Ramsey Hollow and Ramsey St Mary's.
The town grew up around Ramsey Abbey, an important Benedictine monastery. In the order of precedence for abbots in Parliament, Ramsey was third after Glastonbury and St Albans. The town manor is built on the site of (and using materials from) the ancient Abbey and is the seat of the Lords de Ramsey, major landowners in Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire. The remains of the Abbey are now home to part of the town's secondary school. Abbey College, Ramsey resulted from the amalgamation of the previous two secondary schools, Ailwyn School and Ramsey Abbey School.
Besides a Palaeolithic axe discovered in Victoria Road and seen as a chance glacial find, there is no record of prehistoric finds from the town. Roman remains are limited to stray finds of pottery. Early and Middle Saxon Ramsey remains elusive. Ramsey Abbey was a Benedictine abbey in Ramsey, Huntingdonshire (now part of Cambridgeshire), England. It was founded in AD 969 and dissolved in 1537. The site of the abbey in Ramsey is now a Scheduled Ancient Monument. Most of the abbey's buildings were demolished after the dissolution. Parts of a few buildings survive, and are now Grade I and Grade II* listed buildings.
The early history of the town is obscure. The Domesday Book of 1086 does not mention Ramsey. This may be either because it was part of Bury or because it belonged to the abbey that, at that time, enjoyed royal privileges. Throughout the Middle Ages Ramsey remained a small market town serving the abbey and never developed into a borough. The original settlement probably developed outside the abbey, along Hollow Lane. By 1200 the town had grown enough to be granted a weekly market held at the junction of High Street with the Great Whyte and, later, an annual fair held at the green by the church.
Ramsey is served by local buses, having regular and direct routes to St Ives, Huntingdon and Peterborough as well as from nearby villages. There is no longer a railway station at Ramsey. From 1863 a Great Northern Railway branch line linked a terminus in Ramsey with the East Coast Main Line. The London and North Eastern Railway (LNER) ended passenger services on the line in 1947. British Railways ended freight services and closed the branch line in 1973. From 1889 a Great Northern and Great Eastern Joint Railway branch line also terminated in Ramsey, providing the town with a second railway terminus. The LNER closed the station and the branch line in 1930.
Ramsey Rural Museum is in 17th-century farm buildings on Wood Lane. It is a small museum dedicated to the history of rural Fenland life. Every year, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the town is home to 1940s Ramsey, one of Britain's biggest living history events. The event was held at RAF Upwood until 2011 and is now held at The Camp, Wood Lane. It raises funds for several local charities and is dedicated to recreating the sights and sounds of the 1940s. It features living history re-enactors, period dancing, food, exhibitions and trade stands. Original historical documents relating to Ramsey, including the original church parish registers, local government records, maps, photographs, and records of Ramsey manor (held by the Fellowes family, Lords de Ramsey), are held by Cambridgeshire Archives and Local Studies at the County Record Office in Huntingdon.

Places to see in ( Romsey - UK )
Romsey is a small market town in the county of Hampshire, England. Romsey is 7 miles northwest of Southampton, 11 miles southwest of Winchester and 17 miles southeast of Salisbury. Romsey is one of the principal towns in the Test Valley Borough and lies on the River Test, which is known for fly fishing, predominantly trout. Romsey Abbey, the largest parish church in Hampshire, dominates the centre of the town.
Romsey was home of the 20th-century soldier and statesman Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, the 19th-century British prime minister Lord Palmerston, and the 17th-century philosopher and economist William Petty. Romsey is twinned with Paimpol in Brittany, France, and Battenberg, Germany.
Broadlands later became the home of Louis Mountbatten, 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma, known locally as Lord Louis. In 1947, Mountbatten was given his earldom and the lesser title Baron Romsey, of Romsey in the County of Southampton. Queen Elizabeth II's husband, Prince Philip, was his nephew and upon Philip's marriage to Elizabeth in 1947 they departed London for their honeymoon at Broadlands.
Mountbatten was buried in Romsey Abbey after being killed in an IRA bomb explosion in Ireland on 27 August 1979. After his death his titles passed to his elder daughter, Lady Brabourne, who thus became Countess Mountbatten of Burma. Her eldest son was styled by the courtesy title Lord Romsey until he inherited the title of Lord Brabourne in 2005, and then the earldom in 2017.
Embley Park, a country estate located on the outskirts of Romsey was the home of Florence Nightingale, known for her pioneering work as a nurse and sanitary reform during the Crimean war and for laying the foundation of modern nursing. Nightingale is said to have had her calling from God whilst sitting under a giant cedar tree in the grounds of Embley Park on 7 February 1837.
Romsey Abbey is a Norman abbey, originally built during the 10th century, as part of a Benedictine foundation, housing a community of Benedictine nuns. The surviving Anglican Parish church of Romsey, now the largest parish church in the county, is the town's most outstanding feature and is open daily to visitors. King John's House & Tudor Cottage was allegedly a hunting lodge used by King John of England whilst hunting in the New Forest.
The existence of Sadler's Mill, the only mill to be developed on the main course of the River Test, is first recorded in the 16th century. The White Horse Hotel is a Grade II* listed 18th century coaching inn which now houses a 4-star hotel and brasserie owned and operated by Silks Hotels.

Cotswolds, England: Village Charm - Rick Steves’ Europe Travel Guide - Travel Bite
More info about travel to the Cotswolds: As with many fairy-tale regions in Europe, the present-day beauty of England's Cotswolds was the result of an economic disaster — in this case, the collapse of the wool industry. The fine Cotswold towns fell into a time warp, creating a rustic charm that is the basis of today's new prosperity from tourism.

Ramsay Gardens can be found at the eastern edge of Edinburgh Castle Esplanade and stretches right round behind the Tartan Weaving Mill. To access the entrance to Ramsay Gardens, walk to the end of the Tartan Weaving Mill, turn left and there you will be able to see the entrance into the courtyard of Ramsay Gardens.
It is well worth the short one minute walk off the Royal Mile to get a closer look at the architecture and the design, originally inspired by Patrick Geddes.

Fly to France for less than an England football shirt #shorts
Fly to a country for less than the national football shirt
In this video we decided to visit france for less than the price of an england world cup football shirt.
this is ahead of the qatar world cup quarter final on saturday 10th december 2022 at 19:00 GMT.
we went to JD sports in the trafford centre and found a england world cup football shirt on sale for £75.
This gave us the idea that we could fly from england (UK) to france, eat a french baguette and watch the world cup for less than this price.
we flew ryanair from manchester airport to bordeaux airport in france in december 2022. this flight cost us just £44 with easyjet - which was amazing value.
We then had more than enough money spare to buy a french baguette and a croissant and watch the french national football team play in the world cup in brewdog against england (the best world cup quarter final world cup football game).
we loved bordeaux, france, it is a great city and we found some of the best things to go in bordeaux lots of fun and tasty cheap eats
The food in bordeaux was amazing - we discovered lots of cheap eats in bordeaux
we bought an england football shirts and wore them on the plane
it was a full and intense day of travelling for us but so worth it.
it was a spontaneous travel trip that we really enjoyed and will be looking to do again very soon.
we flew with ryan air.

Ramsey - Isle of Man
Ramsey - Isle of Man by Drone filmed using a phantom 4 pro to create new and hopefully interesting landscape drone footage
The Isle of Man is located in the middle of the northern Irish Sea, almost equidistant from England, Northern Ireland, Scotland (closest), and Wales (farthest). It is 52 kilometres (32 mi) long and, at its widest point, 22 kilometres (14 mi) wide. It has an area of around 572 square kilometres (221 sq mi). Besides the island of Mann itself, the political unit of the Isle of Man includes some nearby small islands: the seasonally inhabited Calf of Man, Chicken Rock on which stands an unmanned lighthouse, St Patrick's Isle and St Michael's Isle. The last two of these are connected to the main island by permanent roads/causeways.
Ranges of hills in the north and south are separated by a central valley. The northern plain, by contrast, is relatively flat, consisting mainly of deposits from glacial advances from western Scotland during colder times. There are more recently deposited shingle beaches at the northernmost point, the Point of Ayre. The island has one mountain higher than 600 metres (2,000 ft), Snaefell, with a height of 620 metres (2,034 ft). According to an old saying, from the summit one can see six kingdoms: those of Mann, Scotland, England, Ireland, Wales, and Heaven. Some versions add a seventh kingdom, that of the sea, or Neptune
