Here’s a brief overview of the content in this video:
We start this journey in Esfahan, one of Iran’s most beautiful and friendliest cities, attracting tourists and travelers from afar. It is filled with captivating monuments, historic buildings, tranquil gardens, museums, and in general provides a great introduction to daily life in Iran.
After Esfahan, we travel to Kerman, a city on the fringes of the desert. It is most popular for what lies outside the city, the remains of the ‘Arg’ (an ancient citadel), and the small town of Rayen with its beautiful gardens and shrine. Not far from here are the Kaluts, some of Iran’s most spectacular desert scenery. These places are best reached by private vehicle, as public transport here is limited.
Iran has a long coastline and several island, the largest of which is Qeshm, in the Persian Gulf. This island is relatively underdeveloped and retains much of its traditional characteristics. It’s a great way to get an insight into local Bandari culture, and to witness some of the local economy at work, including agriculture, fishing, and the construction of classic ‘lenge’ boats.
Shiraz is regarded as the center of Persian culture for the last two millennia, and has some of the country’s most beautiful ancient bazaars and historic mosques. It’s also home for the tombs of Hafez and Sa’di, two poets that hold a special place in Iranian society and literature. The ruins of Persepolis, just outside Shiraz, evoke images of a thriving ancient Persia, and should not be missed.
The next destination is Tehran, the bustling capital city, and beating economic heart, of Iran. As the most secular and liberal city in the country, it’s the best place to learn about modern Iran. Qom, on the other hand, is one of the conservative ‘strongholds’ in the country, and provides an interesting contrast with Tehran.
We travel further to Kandovan, a beautiful mountain village where some of the houses are carved out of eroded rocks. It’s near Tabriz, the final destination in the video, famous for its magnificent bazaar.

Qeshm Island and its tourist attractions
Qeshm Island and its tourist attractions
Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf has multiple attractions to absorb more domestic and foreign tourists.
Qeshm, an Iranian island with a total area of about 1,500 square kilometers, is located in the Strait of Hormuz. It is the world’s biggest dependent territory whose area is larger than 22 countries [combined]. The island, which comprises 65 hamlets and three towns, is also the biggest island in the Persian Gulf home to more than 100,000 people.
Thanks to its strategic position, Qeshm Island has always had a unique place throughout history from the Elamites period to the present time. As a result, the island benefits from multiple upsides, among them access to high seas, domestic and Central Asian markets and the southern part of the Persian Gulf. Qeshm also has abundant skilled workforce. Besides, there are huge energy reserves in the island, including gas, deep coastline waters ideal for building wharfs to allow high tonnage vessels to dock; and intact coral reefs, especially in Naz, Hengam and Larak islands which are adjacent to Qeshm.
Qeshm Global Geopark with a total area of over 30,000 hectares is situated in the west of the Island. It was the Middle East’s first Geopark which made it to the Global Geoparks Network (GGN) supported by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 2006. It was then removed from the UNESCO list in 2012, due to mismanagement of Qeshm Free Zone [Organization] and consequent failure to meet the required criteria for remaining on the list.
The organization’s new managers have taken measures and vowed to do what it takes to re-add Qeshm Geopark to the UNESCO’s global list.
This Geopark spans several areas including Hara Forests, Salt Dome, Salt Cave, mineral springs, Chahku Strait, Tang-e Ali Strait, Bam-e Qeshm, Tandis-ha valley, Kalat Koshtar, and tens of rock and reef formations.

PATHS LESS TRAVELED
In the late summer of 2022 I embarked on an epic road trip around Iran, during a time of unrest as protests escalated across the country.
Covering around 6200km over 24 days, I was able to see this incredible country in a way that many are not fortunate enough to see, and to record my experiences in a way that has not been done before.
Safety concerns meant that I had to limit my filming on occasion, and stay well away from any signs of the troubles going on.
However, what I did see was an incredible insight. Some of the most wonderful and welcoming people, incredible history and culture, and mind blowing food.

Qeshm Island Amazing Destination - Iran
Qeshm Island is located a few kilometers off the southern coast of Iran (Persian Gulf), opposite the port cities of Bandar Abbas and Bandar Khamir.
Historical records concerning the Qeshm island date far back into the pre-Islamic era. Names as Qeshm, Keshm, Kish and Tunb mark the lengthy stay of Ilamids in the area, several centuries BC. It is, apparently, the island called Alexandria or Aracia by Ptolemy (Book 6, Chap. IV), in the 2nd century CE and as Alexandria by Ammianus Marcellinus (xxiii.6.42) in the 4th century. On account of its strategic geopolitical situation, near the mouth of the Persian Gulf, it has been frequently attacked by invaders including Ilamids (Elamites), Umayyads, Abbasids as well as the Portuguese and the English. During Sassanian Empire administration the island was called Abarkawan. According to historical records, Qeshm Island has been famous as a trade and navigation center. Its economy flourished during the Dailamites and Buyid eras, as trade vessels sailed between Qeshm Island and China, India and Africa.
Explorer William Baffin was mortally wounded on Qeshm in 1622 during a battle against Portuguese forces who occupied the fort, known to them as Forte de Queixome.
Qeshm is also a supposed site of the Garden of Eden according to Cassells Bible

Don’t miss Qeshm, the largest island in the Persian Gulf
Most travelers know the must-sees of Iran as being the famous cities of Isfahan, Kashan, Yazd, and Shiraz. This is the original Persia, most of it being in or around Fars province. Yet, Iran has several regions with dramatically different landscapes and cultures. One of these singular locations is in the Persian Gulf: Qeshm island.
Qeshm island will offer you another perspective on Iran during your trip, with breathtaking landscapes and fascinating culture. Even for travelers who just have a short time in Iran, it’s possible to visit the islands over a few days
The island has been registered as a UNESCO Geopark in 2006 as it possesses a huge variety of rare geological phenomena. The island also is a refuge for many animals and species of birds, which you can observe in the protected area of the Mangrove Forest.
The most impressive geosites are Chahkhooh Canyon and The Star Valley. Both were created by the erosion caused by the sand and the wind over the millenniums and have resulted in spectacular sites.
But Qeshm also has another wonder, which is the Salt Dome, holding the largest salt cave in the world. Besides these sites, the whole island displays breathtaking landscapes with limestone mountains and seaside roads.
One of the most interesting parts of visiting Qeshm is discovering a whole new culture. In term of traditions, the island shares very little in common with the mainland. Take the language for instance: if almost everyone understands Persian there, it’s only the second language. On Qeshm, people speak their own language, which is a mix of Persian, Arab, Hindi, English and Portuguese. It reflects the history of the island.
It is interesting to note that the vast majority of inhabitants in Qeshm are Sunni Muslims, while Iran’s vast majority is Shia. As a result, people from Qeshm share a lot of their traditions and celebrations with the neighboring Arab countries rather than the rest of Iran.
Most people in Qeshm still wear traditional clothes: a long white dress for men, similar to what can be found in the Gulf countries, and very colorful dresses and pants for women. Older generations of women also still wear a mask to cover part of their face, called Borghe.Besides the language and the clothes, food is also very specific to the island, with a lot of seafood and spices. Music is also a very important part of the island’s identity, with some specific musical performances where drums are playing the most important part.
the main interests in visiting Qeshm are its natural wonders and its authenticity. The fact of being recognized as a Geopark offers a guarantee that natural splendors will be preserved, as constructions and other modifications in the geosites perimeters are not allowed.
Indeed, Qeshm is becoming a fast-growing touristic destination, in particular for local tourism. In the past decades, the amount of guesthouses has more than doubled.

VISIT IRAN - Qeshm Island
Travel guide to Qeshm
Qeshm Island is the largest island in Iran and one of the most built islands in our country, which is located in Hormozgan province. This island has a pristine and beautiful nature and its history is as long as the Sassanid era. This southern island has long been a tourist destination for many Iranians and foreign tourists.
Geographical location of Qeshm Island
Qeshm Island is located in the south of Iran in Hormozgan province and is the largest island in the Strait of Hormuz. Since this island is located in the south of Bandar Abbas, it is limited from the north to Bandar Abbas, from the east to Lark Island, from the south to Hengam Island and from the southwest to Abu Musa Islands and Big Tunb and Small Tonb.
A brief history of Qeshm Island
As mentioned above, this island dates back to the Sassanid era and at that time it was called a supercaravan. It is said that the island has been inhabited since the time of Islam and even from the time of the Median kings. With the advent of Islam, the Muslims conquered the island and it was that little by little everything took on a different color and shape. Gradually, various governments ruled the island, among which we can mention Al-Buwayh, and at one time it was influenced by the Mongols and the Ilkhanids. Gradually, the Europeans set foot here and for a while, especially the Portuguese, ruled it, and this domination took shape to some extent during the Qajar period, until after the Qajar rule, the island was returned to Iran.
Weather conditions and the best time to travel to Qeshm
Due to the fact that Qeshm Island is located in the south of the country, its climate is warm and humid due to its being an island. From 10 July to 10 September, it can be said that it is almost the hottest days of the island, but instead the cost of your trip at this time is half of the other months of the year. But the best time to visit Qeshm is January and February, when the temperature of the island reaches 46 degrees Celsius and the lowest reaches 16 degrees Celsius.
You can rent a car on this island. In order to rent a car, ask the hotel services where you are staying, because most hotels in Kish and Qeshm rent cars to their own passengers.
Necessary documents for car rental in Qeshm
National card, identity card or passport valid
Valid and valid driver's license
Payment as a deposit (depends on the company and the car chosen.)
Other special dishes of Qeshm are made from wheat, fish and aromatic vegetables. In this food, first the wheat is thrown into the water and then the fish mixed with vegetables is added to the wheat.
Dishes rice
The Qeshmis make this food from a solution of date juice, boil it, and then pour the rice they have made into this solution and leave it until the water evaporates, and finally serve the rice with fish. کردن.
Important tourist attractions
Qeshm Geopark
This geopark is the only geopark in the Middle East that has been registered globally and it is home to various species of birds, four-limbed animals and reptiles, and therefore has one of the most important ecosystems in Iran.
Chahkuh Strait
It is impossible to say about the trip to Qeshm and not mention the name of this strait. Chahkuh Strait is actually two valleys perpendicular to each other with hollow walls, cavities that have different sizes and their presence has made the shape of this valley strange.
Cute Island
The beautiful islands are different from all the beaches you have ever seen. These islands are called Do Kardeh by the locals and are registered in the maps as cute islands and are also known to tourists by the same name. At low tide, with the complete retreat of the sea water, for a short time, it connects the strip of land of Naz Island to the coast of Qeshm. Although the time of this event is short, but at the same time travelers can enter the cute islands and watch the Strait of Hormuz, Lark Island from the heights.
Hengam Island
When, playful dolphin island; This island is located in the south of our country and although it is small, it is one of the most attractive tourist destinations. Hangam is located at a distance of 2 km from Qeshm and to reach it you have to board boats on Qeshm Island to reach this island after a short route. Towards this island, the first thing that catches your attention is the clean and shiny sands and the infinitely beautiful blue waters, which shine dozens of times under the golden rays of the sun. In this part of the island you can see many oyster rocks and one of the most exciting part of the trip is to see these colorful oysters.
Chah-Kooh Valley Qeshm Island, IRAN | درهی چاهکوه جزیرهی قشم
When we returned to Qeshm Island from Hengam we hired a cab and a driver as a guide to take us around the beautiful island for the day. Our 1st stop was Chahkooh or (Well-Mountain Valley).
The Chahkooh Valley was, in my opinion, one of the most mesmerizing and picturesque geologic attractions on the island.
I can not wait to visit this valley one more time and spend much more time to explore and climb this gorgeous valley.
interesting place of iran -Avicennia marina in Qeshm island
Avicennia marina forest is one of the famous places of #Qeshm, which is also known as marine forest. By moving through the waters of this forest, you can see green trees growing among the piles of #wood. Interestingly, these sticks are actually the roots of trees, whose ends are facing the sky, and by turning the salty sea water into fresh water, they can survive for many years in this condition. These beautiful trees come out of the water at low tide and sink halfway into the water with the tide. The #tropical climate of these areas has also contributed to the growth of mangrove trees.
