One of the most beautiful cities in Europe with great history, culture & architecture. European backyard city where I enjoy returning time & time again.
Walk the Charles Bridge from the 14th Century (started in 1357 & finished 1402), it's the bridge that connects the Old Town (Staré Mesto) to the Lesser Town (Malá Strana). Explore the other bridges to cross from east to west, too. It literally takes less than 2 minutes to cross, unless you still think you are in a dreamland, but that's ok, you're in Prague!
Go visit the Prague Castle before tourists flock there, best time to arrive is 6:00AM-9:00AM or after 5:00PM (17:00), Prague Castle is from the 9th Century, which seated Bohemian kings, Roman Emperors, presidents of Czechoslovakia & presidents of Czech Republic. *Vaclav Havel was the last Czechoslovakian president & the first Czech Republic president* Prague Castle is the largest lived-in ancient castle in the world according to the Guinness Record. Both Prague Castle & Charles Bridge are on the UNESCO World Heritage sites.
*A small tip, Golden Lane will be free after 5PM* Golden Lane built in 16th Century to house the guards but in 17th Century, it housed Goldsmiths. Charming street within the castle wall.
Go to Old Town, figure out how the Astronomical Clock (Prague Orloj) works & what each characters represent. Orloj is from the 1410, third oldest clock in the world & oldest surviving clock in the world. Take a picture with Tyn Church in the background. Have a seat near Jan Hus (John Huss) & his followers statue. A theologian and a philosopher who along with his followers were burnt alive because he was a church reformer. He is considered pre-Protestant & was known 100 years before Martin Luther. Visit the St. Nicholas church in the Old Town, Orthodox church. *There is another St. Nicholas in Lesser Town and is Gothic Parish* One was built by a father & the other was by his son of Dientzenhofer family. Both are Baroque in style. BTW...there are 3 St. Nichiolas.
If you are overwhelmed by the mass tourists have a drink, a dessert & people/boat/geese watch at the Vltava River waterfront (Náplavka). There are boat floating restaurants, street cafes & pub stands along the waterfront.
On each visits, I began to explore further outwards from the comfort zones of Old Town, New Town, Castle District. Don't get me wrong, those are some great historical & beautiful areas but one can not help being curious of other neighborhoods. So, join in & explore the local neighborhoods of Vyšehrad, Vinohrady, Smichov/Anděl.
On 1st visit in '13 , I stayed in Smichov/Andel (southwest of Old Town, across the Vltava River). Back then it was slightly sketchy/grey area. In '19 visit this neighborhood boomed with high level real estate, very upper-middle class area. Visit the local theaters, enjoy the relax of Petrin Park (Petřínské sady), ride a tram, ride a funicular (Angled tram, 3 stops of Újezd, Nebozízek and Petřín).
Another local area called Anděl, felt like local working class neighborhood. So many restaurants, pubs, cafes & a huge mall. Many trams stop along the Nádražní Street.
One 2nd visit, I decided to stay in another local neighborhood called Vinohrady (southeast of Old Town). In the 14h Century this neighborhood was covered with vineyards. During the visit, this area was an upcoming trendy neighborhood with full local pubs, restaurants and cafes popping out near the Peace Square (Náměstí Míru). There is a Subway/Metro stop, literally next to the church & there are plenty of tram lines that stop at the Square. Easter, this is where the locals gather to sell & buy treats, drinks, food & souvenirs for wandering tourists.

4K Czech Republic walk: Prague at Sunset, Vinohrady, Rieger Gardens, Main railway station 🇨🇿HDR ASMR
Today, on our walk, we will visit the Rieger Gardens, located in the Vinohrady district of Prague. From there you have a fantastic view of the city, and many people love to come here at sunset! At the end of the walk, I will show you the Prague Main railway station from an interesting angle.

Vinohrady (Royal Vineyards) is a cadastral district in Prague. It is so named because it was once covered in vineyards dating from the 14th century. Vinohrady lies in the municipal and administrative districts of Prague 2 (west part), Prague 3 (north-east part) and Prague 10 (south-east part), minor parts also of Prague 1 (Prague State Opera and Federal Assembly of Czechoslovakia), and Prague 4 (near Nusle).
Between 1788–1867 it was called Viničné Hory (Vineyard Mountains). From 1867 to 1968, it was called Královské Vinohrady (Royal Vineyards). In 1875, Královské Vinohrady was divided into two parts, Královské Vinohrady I and Královské Vinohrady II, the part I was renamed to Žižkov and the part II to Královské Vinohrady in 1877. In 1922 Královské Vinohrady was made part of Prague as district XII. In 1949, the west part was conjoined with Prague 2, and the east part remained a separate district, Prague 12. In 1960, when the Prague division was reduced from 16 to 10 administrative districts, the north part of Prague 12 was conjoined with Žižkov into Prague 3, and the south part was joined to Prague 10. Local patriots say that the real reason was that Královské Vinohrady was known as a bourgeois district and thus politically unreliable for the then-ruling Communist Party of Czechoslovakia.
Rieger Gardens (Riegrovy sady) is a park, over a century old shelters intimate nooks and places with wooded areas, open grassy areas, and impressive city vistas. Vineyards used to be located here. Today, all that remains are parts of the original buildings: the Classicist lookout from the 1920s, renovated into a restaurant, and a three-sided sandstone obelisk from around 1840.
Prague Main Railway Station (Praha hlavní nádraží) is
The largest passenger railway station in the Czech Republic and Prague's most crucial railway station. The historic building and the hall above the railway yard are among the most significant Art Nouveau monuments in the Czech Republic. Many shops and food establishments will make waiting for your connection more pleasant. Occasional-themed exhibitions are held in the check-in hall. It opened in 1871 as Franz Josef Station, after Franz Joseph I of Austria. During the First Republic and from 1945 to 1948, the station was called Wilson Station (Czech: Wilsonovo nádraží), after the former President of the United States, Woodrow Wilson.
In 2014, the station served 224,505 trains (610 daily) and more than 53,000,000 passengers.

Prague is the largest and the capital city of the Czech Republic. Rich in its historical heritage, this attractive city is the commercial and cultural centre of the Czech Republic. Prague (Praha) is situated in the heart of the Bohemian Basin which has a ring of mountainous surroundings.
Before headed to Prague, we dropped Regensburg to try out a sausage house that has been around since the 1100s!

Bobsleigh Track - Prague
For those looking for a little fun and excitement while in Prague one need look no further than the bob - sleigh track at Prosek right on the edge of the city but yet easily reachable on public transport. A number of things make Bobova Draha, as it is called in Czech, a great place to visit. It is a place where you can come to by yourself, or better again with your friends or colleagues. Or even you can come with your family and children. The bob-sleigh goes at the speed of your choice, although obviously for many of the daring enthusiasts who come here it is a case of 'the faster they can go, the better'. Because that is what it is about for many of them, some adventure and some adrenaline release and what better way to do it than by hurtling at amazing speeds while strapped into a trolley.

Today, I will repeat our traditional route at the audience's request. We will walk in Prague, Czech Republic, 4k HDR, from Republic Square, along Na příkopě Street, towards Wenceslas Square! Let's see how they reconstruct it there.
00:00 Republic Square (Náměstí Republiky) is a city square in Prague, Czech Republic, lying at the Old Town and New Town boundary. These significant buildings are on the square or near the vicinity: Kotva Department Store, Municipal House, Powder Tower, Czech National Bank, and Palladium shopping mall. From the square leads Na příkopě street, the most expensive street among all states of the V4, connecting it with the Wenceslas Square.
03:00 Na příkopě (On the moat), informally also Na Příkopě, Na Příkopech or Příkopy, is a street in the center of Prague, Czech Republic, connecting Wenceslas Square with the Republic Square. It separates the Old Town from the New Town. It is a place of representative buildings, including the headquarters of the Czech National Bank, old palaces, and luxurious shops.
Na Příkopě street leads on the site of former 10-meter-wide and 8-meter-deep moat from 1234, which led along the medieval walls of the Old Town. Water flowed directly from the Vltava river, and when the moat was filled, the Old Town formed a closed island. The moat was covered in 1760. After coating, chestnut trees were planted here, and the street was named Ve starých alejích (In old alleys). In 1845-70 the street was named Kolowratská třída and since 1871 bears the name Na Příkopě. Because it was one of the few vast streets in Prague, it soon became a traffic artery. Since 1875, the first line of the Prague horse-drawn tram has been lead here, electrified since 1899. In 1919, Můstek became the first intersection in Prague controlled by a traffic policeman. In 1927, then the second intersection with the light signaling (the first being Hybernská-Dlážděná-Havlíčkova intersection). In the 1960s, traffic jams were getting worse. However, in 1978 the metro station was opened at Můstek, and Line B followed the street since 1985 for almost its entire length to the Republic Square. A nearly century-old tram line was canceled in 1985, and the bustling urban street turned into a pedestrian zone. On the road appeared many new stores and it became an important business center of Prague promenade.
10:00 Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí or colloquially Václavák) is one of the main city squares and the center of the business and cultural communities in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. Many historical events occurred there, and it is a traditional setting for demonstrations, celebrations, and other public gatherings. It is also the place with the heaviest pedestrian traffic in the whole country. The square is named after Saint Wenceslas, the patron saint of Bohemia. It is part of the historical center of Prague, a World Heritage Site.

Czech Republic Prague in 4K walk: Lesser Town street walks - Malá Strana, Kampa 🇨🇿 ASMR HDR
Today in our Czech Republic Prague 4K walk, we will visit Lesser Town (Malá Strana), a part of the city filled with the spirit of the Middle Ages and magic!
Malá Strana (Lesser Town) is a district of Prague, Czech Republic, and one of its most historic neighborhoods. In the Middle Ages, it was a dominant center of the ethnic German (and since the 16th century also Italian) citizens of Prague. It also housed many noble palaces, while the right-bank towns were comparatively more bourgeois and Bohemian Czech.
The name Malá Strana means Little Side, though it is frequently referred to as Lesser Town, Lesser Quarter, or Lesser Side. It is on the left (west) bank of the river Vltava, on the slopes just below Prague Castle. The name distinguishes it from the more prominent districts of Prague on the right bank, with which the Charles Bridge links it. Initially, when it was founded in 1257, the district was called the New Town beneath Prague Castle (Czech: Nové Město pod Pražským hradem). When Charles IV founded the New Town of Prague in 1348, Malá Strana was renamed the Lesser Town of Prague (Czech: Menší Město pražské). In the 17th century, the unofficial name Little Quarter (Malá Strana) was used.
06:20 The Lesser Town Square (Malostranské náměstí) lies at the heart of the Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and has been the hub of this side of the river in Prague since the 10th century.
The magnificent St. Nicholas Church is the center of the square, the Lesser Town's primary landmark. A mixture of restaurants, quaint old pubs, small shops, and a host of international embassies housed in the beautiful old Baroque buildings are all around.
14:00 Kampa (also Na Kampě) is an island in the Vltava river in central Prague on the side of Malá Strana. Charles Bridge crosses its northern tip and is connected to the island by the street Na Kampě. It is separated from Malá Strana by a narrow artificial channel to the west called the Devil's Stream (Čertovka), a waterway dug to power water mills (no longer existent). It is supposedly named after a sharp-tongued woman who lived in a local home called the Seven Devils.

Today we will start our Czechia 4k Prague walking tour on Na příkopě street, then visit Wenceslas Square, Národní street, and finally see the best view of Prague Castle from Vltava river.

This Square is the commercial and administrative center of the city as well as the site of important social and historical events. Here you'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centers. The Square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek's statue of the national patron St Wenceslas from 1912.
08:30 Národní, formerly Národní třída, is one of the critical avenues in Prague, Czech Republic. It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the city's center. This avenue connects Legion Bridge bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls. On Friday, 17 November 1989, riot police violently suppressed a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought of as the initiation of the Velvet Revolution. Národní třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the revolution.
