Um video compacto sobre Pinhel. É cidade histórica pela posição que ocupa em terras de fronteira da Beira, e fica a 30km da Guarda capital do distrito. O Castelo é da época da fundação de Portugal, pois a fronteira com o Reino de Leão era aqui perto, e havia que defender e povoar o território. Terra produtora de excelentes vinhos de mesa. Apreciei especialmente o almoço no restaurante Tasca, bem português, todo caiado de branco, sem se deixar levar por modas, onde ainda nos dizem ao trazer a comida. se quiser mais diga!

Portugal Route N2 part 5 - Winding Roads through the Mountains
Nearly approaching the halfway point of this trip down the National Route N2 in Portugal, high up in the mountains we wind our way through twisting turns and admire the breathtaking scenery along the way.

Our lunchtime stop was at the town of Vila Nova de Poiares where we serviced the van at the Motorhome Aire
and had a fantastic lunch at Ribeiras Bar
We headed further down to the beautiful small town of Gois where there is a huge free parking facility for the campervan
and a scenic riverside walk into the town centre, stone bridges, weirs and watermills make this one not to miss
We stay at a great campsite just heading out of the Coimbra district called
Camping Pedrógão Grande and you can find that via this link

Aerial view of Arganil - 4K UHD
Arganil is a Portuguese village in the District of Coimbra, in the province of Beira Litoral, in the Centro region (Beiras Region) and in the Region of Coimbra sub-region, with about 4000 inhabitants.
It is the seat of a municipality with an area of 332.84 km² and in 2012 had 12145 inhabitants, subdivided into 14 parishes.
The municipality is limited to the north by the municipalities of Penacova, Tábua and Oliveira do Hospital, to the northeast by Seia, to the east by Covilhã, to the south by Pampilhosa da Serra, by Góis and by Lousã (in a few hundred meters) and to the west by Vila Nova de Poiares.
Arganil means small field “Arganil is an old Portuguese word, diminutive of Arga, it means small field, field. Arga is corruption of agra, campina, of Latin agro, field. ”
Some authors mention that Arganil was founded by the Romans, and others cite the Portuguese. In the Great Portuguese and Brazilian Encyclopedia we find “The tradition says that Arganil was a Roman city that would have been called Argos, wanting some authors to be the Aussasia of the ancient Portuguese. That the village existed at the beginning of the Portuguese monarchy is ascertained, since in the year 1160 of the Caesar era it was donated to the Cathedral of Coimbra by Queen D. Tereza, mother of D. Afonso Henriques and the Monastery of S. Pedro de Folques.”
LETTER OF SETTLEMENT AND FORAL - “With regard to Arganil, on December 25, 1114, Bishop D. Gonçalo granted a settlement letter to the inhabitants of this village.” On January 1, 1175, Pedro Uzbertiz grants Arganil a letter of jurisdiction, signed in the archives of the Public Archives. On December 18, 1273 in the Cortes de Santarém and by Letter domini regis super correcting correcting in regne, Pedro Afonso de Arganil is elected as corregidor of Arganil.

Vila de Soure - Coimbra
🚍 Soure é uma vila do distrito de Coimbra, situada na província da Beira Litoral.
No centro do país, junto à Serra de Sicó e local de passagem dos rios Anços, Arunca, Pranto e Mondego, o concelho de Soure mostra as suas riquezas. Na Idade Média, mais concretamente no período da Reconquista Cristã, Soure assumiu um papel estratégico. O seu castelo integrava a linha defensiva de Coimbra.
Atualmente é possível observar o que foi a infraestrutura, que conta com uma particularidade: contrariamente ao que é costume observar nos castelos medievais, o de Soure foi erguido numa zona plana. Justifica-se por ser o local onde confluem os rios Anços e Arunca e à necessidade de controlo da região. No Museu Municipal, junto ao castelo, é possível observar alguns vestígios arqueológicos que ilustram a evolução histórica de todo o concelho.
Na vila há muitas ruas e recantos que, numa caminhada, valem a pena explorar. A Igreja Matriz de S. Tiago, que remonta ao século XV, é um monumento a apreciar. O passeio pode continuar pelo Parque da Várzea, onde é possível observar os rios que atravessam a localidade. Já junto à câmara municipal é possível conhecer o Jardim Municipal de Soure e o edifício dos Paços do Concelho, cuja construção remonta a 1900.
