पुरे विश्व को शांति, प्रेम, सद्भावना और मोक्ष का मार्ग दिखने वाले , भगवन गौतम बुद्ध की महानता को पूरा विश्व मनाता है, उनके जीवन में कुशीनगर का विशेष महत्व रहा है, यही वो पवन भूमि है जहा 2500 साल पहले, भगवन बुद्ध ने महापरिनिर्वाण प्राप्त किया। जिससे कुशीनगर विश्व प्रशिद्द हो गया , उत्तर प्रदेश में स्थित इस खूबसूरत स्थल का इतिहास काफी प्राचीन व गौरवशाली माना जाता है। यहीं पर भगवान बुद्ध ने अपना अंतिम उपदेश दिया था। खुदाई के दौरान यहां भगवान बुद्ध की लेटी हुई प्रतिमा मिली थी।
वहीं पौराणिक ग्रंथो में भी इसका उल्लेख मिलता है। कहा जाता है कि कुशीनगर की स्थापना भगवान राम के वंशज कुश द्वारा गई थी, इसलिए इसका नाम कुशीनगर पड़ा।
कुशीनगर, गोरखपुर से लगभग 53 किमी की दूरी पर स्थित है। कुशीनगर उत्तर प्रदेश का एक जिला है कुशीनगर एक अंतरराष्ट्रीय पर्यटक स्थल है क्योंकि यहां कई देशों के सुंदर बौद्ध मंदिर है |यहां पर देश भर के बौद्ध तीर्थ यात्री घूमने के लिए आते हैं | यहां की लोकल भाषा भोजपुरी है| कुशीनगर में बुद्ध पूर्णिमा पर एक माघ मेला लगता है|

Unexplored Place in Kushinagar
Linh-Son Vietnam Chinese Buddhist Temple, it is one of the important Buddhist Temples in Kushinagar, and among the best places to visit in Kushinagar. The temple complex features replicas of important Buddhist shrines at the four important Buddhist pilgrimage sites such as Lumbini, Bodh Gaya, Sarnath, and Kushinagar and is a beautiful place not to be missed. It is hardly 50km from Gorakhpur and roads are superb.

The Padrauna Palace in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh
Padrauna is a small town, and district headquarters of Kushinagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. Its ancient name was Pava where lord Buddha took his last meal. It is the place where Lord Rama spent a few days of his life. Lord Rama passed from Padrauna and after that he reached at Ramkola where he made a hut with his wife Sita and younger brother Lakshman to stay. Padrauna is also the place of ancient Malla Kshatriyas who were following a democratic way of ruling from their Santhagara.

KUSHINAGAR - THE HOLIEST PILGRIMAGE
Kushinagar is a town in the Kushinagar district in Uttar Pradesh, India.
It is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, where Buddhists believe Gautama Buddha attained Mahaparinirvana.
When Buddha turned 80, he predicted at Vaishali (now in Bihar) on the day of Magh Purnima that he would achieve Mahaparinirvana at Kushinagar - the capital of Mallas - exactly three months later. All pilgrimage sites in Kushinagar associated with Buddha's life are concentrated in a small hamlet called Kasia. Kushinagar is 53km from Gorakhpur and 35km from Deoria.
Kushinagar is also known as kushvati. t is said that Parveenvirana of Mahavir Jain was done by the 24th Tirthankar of Jainism.

A Religious pilgrimage center in Kushinagar District in the beautiful state of Uttar Pradesh, Kushinagar is a place where Lord Buddha attained Nirvana. It is famous for numerous monasteries and stupas dating back years ago are almost in relics now. Many devotees flock to this place every year from all over the globe to explore what city has to offer to its guests. One can also pay a visit to many temples during the tour to Kushinagar for wholesome experiences. The much explored site of this beautiful town is Mahaparinirvana Stupa which is positioned above the location where Gautam Buddha is finally resting. History
The Kushinagar's history dates back to centuries back and in those times it was dubbed as Kushavati (Jatakas). It has its mention in Ramayana and it is said that the town got its name from the son of Lord Rama, Kusha. Besides this, it was a famed place of the Malla Empire of ancient India. According to legends, Gautam Buddha fell ill after having some mushrooms served by a local. And once he recovered from his illness, he attained final nirvana at this spot. Many of the Stupas here were constructed centuries back and is said that Ashoka, the Mauryan Kingdom had contributed to important erection at this place. Legend goes that it was a significant site for Jain, Vaishnavism and Shaivism values.

Indo - Japan Srilanka Temple: Having a famed eight metal statue of Gautam Buddha which was transported from Japan, Indo - japan Srilanka Temple is a highly visited attraction in a beautiful town of Kushinagar. The architectural brilliance was erected by the Atago Isshin World Buddhist Cultural Association.
Chinese Temple: Also Dubbed as Lin sun Temple, Chinese Temple is different from the other shrines placed in Kushinagar. It is a blend of Vietnamese and Chinese structural design. Not only this, the temple has a majestic statue of Lord Buddha which allures the tourists from all across the globe.
Wat Thai Temple: One of the main sacred places of Buddhist followers, Wat Thai Temple attracts the travelers with its fabulous architectural beauty. It is enclosed by different varieties of trees and vegetation.
Matha Kuar Shrine: Matha Kuar Shrine houses a statue of Buddha which is believed to have been constructed of a single stone. One must pay a visit to this temple while on a trip to Kushinagar.
Meditation Park: A small park situated in proximity to the Mahaparinirvana shrine in Kushinagar, Meditation Park boasts of water bodies with bright green exquisiteness making it a perfect destination for meditation. Travelers visit this park to unwind in a peaceful and serene ambience.

By Air: The closest airport would be Varanasi having regular flights to all main cities of India encompassing Agra, Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi and many other places.
By Train : The nearest railhead is located in Gorakhpur at a distance of 30 miles from the revered town of Kushinagar.
By Road: It is well connected with all the main destinations of India by excellent motorable roads. One can also get here by availing the public and private bus services offered in many cities around kushinagar
