Given the inauspicious beginnings of this place and its habit of burning down in a blaze of riot and bad planning, it is amazing what it has become. And, of course, we take a tour of the national museum to see what the old tin can built.

Malaysiain Hiking trails: An afternoon in Taman Negara Penang
There are plenty of outdoor activities for the adventurer in Penang. Today we spent the afternoon hiking to Pantai Kerachut and a boat trip to Monkey beach for a relaxing drink by the beach before heading home.
Taman Negara Pulau Pinang is possibly the world's smallest national park. It's not a difficult hike and the trails are easy to follow and well marked. I highly recommend taking a boat trip back to the entrance at Teluk Bahang jetty. It just makes the overall experience better, I promise.

Klang Gates Dam (Malay: Empangan Klang Gates) Empangan di Ulu Klang, Gombak District, Selangor, Malaysia. Ia juga dikenali sebagai Empangan Bukit Tabur. Disiapkan pada tahun 1958, empangan ini merupakan empangan pertama di Malaysia untuk bekalan air. Ia adalah empangan gerbang konkrit dengan alur tumpahan di tengah.
Takungan empangan itu merupakan salah satu sumber air minuman utama penduduk di Lembah Klang, di mana terletaknya ibu negara, Kuala Lumpur. Kapasiti empangan ialah 25,104 juta liter. Loji rawatan air Bukit Nanas mengambil air mentah dari takungan ini dan menghasilkan 145 juta liter air terawat setiap hari.
Semasa krisis air 2014, kapasiti menurun serendah 54% pada 2014, hanya menyediakan kira-kira 80 hari bekalan air.
Di sebelah empangan itu terdapat Klang Gate Ridge, rabung kuarza terbesar di dunia. Terbahagi kepada dua bahagian yang dikenali sebagai Bukit Tabur Barat dan Bukit Tabur Timur, permatang selebar 200m dan mempunyai panjang keseluruhan 22km. Ia unik kerana saiznya yang kecil serta untuk empat jenis formasi kuarzanya. Permatang ini kaya dengan tumbuh-tumbuhan, menyokong sekurang-kurangnya 265 spesies tumbuhan termasuk 5 yang endemik. Haiwan yang jarang ditemui, kesedihan (kambing gunung), juga ditemui di rabung.
