The Medieval Bath Abbey, England
Terry Hodgkinson aka wandering ninja wanders around Bath England taking some video shots of the sights and especially the Bath Abbey.
I was told that the Bath Abbey was the last of the medieval churches to be made so I wanted to see it for sure. I'm glad I did, what an amazing piece of architecture. - Terry
Background:
The Abbey Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul, Bath, commonly known as Bath Abbey, is an Anglican parish church and a former Benedictine monastery in Bath, Somerset, England. Founded in the 7th century, Bath Abbey was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries; major restoration work was carried out by Sir George Gilbert Scott in the 1860s. It is one of the largest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in the West Country.
The church is cruciform in plan, and is able to seat 1200. An active place of worship, with hundreds of congregation members and hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, it is used for religious services, secular civic ceremonies, concerts and lectures. The choir performs in the abbey and elsewhere. There is a heritage museum in the vaults.
The abbey is a Grade I listed building, particularly noted for its fan vaulting ceiling. It contains war memorials for the local population and monuments to several notable people, in the form of wall and floor plaques and commemorative stained glass. The church has two organs and a peal of ten bells. The west front includes sculptures of angels climbing to heaven on two stone ladders.

Purple Banes!
A ride through some of the many stony, unsealed roads within the Bath and North-East Somerset (BANES) area. We set off in two groups of six riders ten minutes apart, meeting each other mid-lane a few times on route.
Our ride started and ended at top of ‘Pipehouse Lane’ near Midford in Somerset, taking in approximately 55 miles of lanes around Combe Hay, Englishcombe, Inglesbatch, Priston, Timsbury, Farmborough, Compton Dando, Woollard, Publow and Pensford before stopping for lunch at the Rest-a-While café in Keynsham.
Our return took us through Chewton Keynsham, Marksbury, Stanton Prior, Dunkerton, Peasedown St. John (along the historic Fosse Way) and Wellow before heading back to Wiltshire via Pipehouse Lane.
BANES is a great area for riding in with many pretty old roads which because of being improved with stone or rocks can be sustainably ridden by motorcycle all year round. It’s also very popular with horse riders, so care should be taken to respect their needs and safety whilst visiting the area.

Anglophile Zen - Episode 4 - River Avon and Pulteney Bridge in Bath England
In this week's episode of Anglophile Zen, spend five minutes in beautiful Bath England. We visited last December on a beautifully sunny day and watched the river go by. On that day it was a torrent, the recent torrential rains had the river bursting. It was still a beautiful site. Put on some headphones, put this video on full screen and be transported to Bath.

Evensong in Bath Abbey
Hello! I recorded this video over a month ago now, when I visited Bath with a few other students from the London Centre. We happened to catch the choir practicing for Evensong (an afternoon choral service) while walking through Bath Abbey, and it was absolutely perfect to listen to this beautiful music in a beautiful space. I know the video doesn't do it justice, but I thought I'd share what I could!
Cheers!
*Recent Transfer + Hill Climb* | Volvo B9TL Wright Eclipse Gemini | 522 to Bristol / 37642 SV08 FYA
This video is a ride on 37642 SV08 FYA, This bus had recently came to Bristol from Bath after 37639 SV08 FXX struck the Twerton Bridge while working a U5. Overall wasn't the greatest run but thought it was still worthy of an upload due to the unusual-ness of it & the MEGA hill climb coming out of Dunkerton Village.
I caught this bus on the service 522 between Bath Bus Station & Bristol Bus Station. (Filmed between Odd Down P&R & Peasedown St John)
