x

This is Peñaranda, a quiet and peaceful town located at the southern part of Nueva Ecija | 4K

Peñaranda is a 4th class municipality in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 32,269 people. It is bordered by the municipalities of General Tinio and San Leonardo, and the city of Gapan.

The area was originally called Mapisong, and it was a part of the municipality of Gapan. It was renamed Peñaranda in 1903 after General Manuel Peñaranda, a Filipino general who fought in the Philippine-American War.

Peñaranda is known for its high quality crop called ikmo, a plant used by older Filipinos as a chewing substance. Recently however, the crop is on the brink of extinction. Rice remains a flourishing farm produce. In 2012, the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the ICHCAP of UNESCO published Pinagmulan: Enumeration from the Philippine Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The first edition of the UNESCO-backed book included Nueva Ecija's Arakyo, signifying its great importance to Philippine intangible cultural heritage.

3. Mount Pinatubo
Simply awe-inspiring to look at, Mount Pinatubo is a must-visit when in Central Luzon. While the majestic mountains and volcanoes that dot the landscape are breathtakingly beautiful, the glimmering crater lake at their heart is the undoubted star of the show.
Hemmed in by towering peaks, the turquoise waters shimmer and gleam beneath the midday sun, and the color of the lake remarkably changes throughout the year, depending on the season.
4
Dicasalarin Cove
is a private white beach in Baler. Baler, Aurora's piece of Paradise famous for its white sand, crystal blue beach, The Lighthouse, and stunning views you can't find anywhere else.
Dicasalarin Cove is a secluded white sand beach where the verdant Sierra Madre foothills meet the Pacific Ocean. Dark, thickly forested hills contrast with the striking white shoreline. There are no resorts and no facilities on this fine stretch of sand.

5. Ditumabo Mother Falls
Majestic to behold, Ditumabo Falls gushes forth from up high. The dazzling white of its waters contrasts stunningly with the lush green of the rainforest that lies on either side of it. The impressive waterfall is also known as Mother Falls since it is the largest and grandest in the area

6. Minalungao National Park

Established in 1967 to protect and preserve the scenic Penaranda River and its surroundings, Minalungao National Park is home to some of the most beautiful and pristine nature in Central Luzon.

As it is promoted as an ecotourism destination by the local government, it should come as no surprise to learn that the national park has a wealth of fantastic outdoor activities for you to enjoy, with hiking, rock climbing, and ziplining all on offer.

In addition to this, you can also go swimming or kayaking on the river – or even rafting and cliff diving if you feel brave enough. While its range of outdoor activities will certainly keep you entertained for days, the scenery on the show is just as arresting; the emerald waters of the river are beautifully framed by glimmering limestone formations looming above it.

7. Magalawa Island

Lying just off the west coast of Central Luzon and surrounded by the glittering waters of the China Sea, Magalawa Island is a fantastic place to head to if you’re looking for a quiet getaway.

With beautiful white sand beaches lining its shores and gently swaying palm trees wherever you look, Magalawa certainly paints a pretty picture. There’s nothing better than lounging on the beach all day while taking in the stunning scenery.

8. Dingalan
Lying alongside a delightful bay of the same name, Dingalan is a breathtakingly beautiful part of Central Luzon to visit. The municipality is awash with stunning scenery and landscapes for you to explore. While its wild and rugged coastline is exhilarating to surf or swim along, its interior is equally enchanting. Among its towering mountains, you can find cavernous caves, gushing rivers, and sparkling waterfalls.

9 nagsasa cove
The rise to fame of Anawangin paved the way for other hidden coves on the western coast of Zambales to be known, and one that is fast becoming popular is the Nagsasa Cove.
With sand that is the same as Anawangin, an area twice as big, and perhaps a more beautiful backdrop, Nagsasa Cove promises everyone a more fun adventure.

10 Baler
Lined by beautiful palm trees and overlooked by majestic mountains off in the distance, the small town of Baler is a very laid-back place to visit, and the scenery on the show is drop-dead gorgeous.

Famed for its white sand beach and surfing spots that appeared in the iconic film Apocalypse Now, Baler truly is blessed with its scenic setting. If you’re up for some exploring, the surrounding area has some beautiful beaches and waterfalls.

TOURIST SPOTS IN BULACAN | 2023 GUIDE

Bulacan backpacking and travel guide. Includes the history of Barasoain Church, Biak na Bato National Park, Malolos Cathedral, Baliuag Church, Bulacan Provincial Capitol, Guiguinto Old Train Station, Plaridel Church, and Casa Real Shrine. #81ProvincesPh #SirangLente

In Philippine history, Bulacan is one of those provinces with a lot of events and until today, the historical sites are still standing. Let's start with Barasoain Church, also known as Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, a Roman Catholic church built in 1630 in Malolos City, #Bulacan.

The Biak na Bato National Park, in San Miguel, Bulacan, is one of top travel destinations in the province because of its historical contribution in the Philippine republic. Biak na Bato or split of boulder is where Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo signed the Malolos Republic (first Constitution of the Philippines).

Malolos Cathedral or the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is one of the historical churches in the Philippines, located in Malolos City. The construction of this church started in 1814 and was finished in 1817, under Fray. Melchor Fernández.

According to the Spanish records, it was Fr. Juan de Albarran, OSA who was assigned as the parish priest of Baliuag Church in 1733, the year that the church was officially began. Then, between 1769 to 1774, the second church was built by Father Gregorio Giner. The structure of the church was completed in 1801. However, in 1863, the strongest earthquake damaged the church but was rebuilt in 1870.

Bulacan Provincial Capitol is the place where the other government institutions/offices can be found. It is also the place where you can find the office of the most powerful man in the government of the province.

Plaridel Church or Quingua Church was established in 1581, that's more than four centuries ago and it is one of the oldest Hispanic churches in Bulacan. Its structure is a barn-style Baroque with Moorish ornamentation. During the British occupation (1762-1763), this church was the place where the money and jewels of San Agustin, in Intramuros, Manila, were kept.

Casa Real Shrine was built in 1580, became the town’s Casa Tribunal, Ayuntamiento, and Casa Presidencia Municipal and was the residence and Office of the Gobernadorcillo during the Spanish time. It was the site of the Imprenta Nacional of the First Republic, where the revolutionary organs La Independencia, El Heraldo de la Revolucion, Kalayaan and Kaibigan ng Bayan were printed., the printing press of the 1896 Constitution and the Heraldo de Revolucion.

The Cabanatuan American Memorial used to be the prisoner of war camp of the Japanese Imperial Army during the World War II from 1942 to 1945. More than 500 prisoners of war were successfully rescued here on January 30, 1945 by the combined effort of the American soldiers and Filipino Guerillas.

American Battle Monuments Comission (ABMC) recognizes the significance of this memorial. It has been in charge of its operation and maintenance since 1989.
