ARIZONA | Top 10 National Parks and Monuments (Travel guide)

From canyons to ancient ruins, the state of Arizona offers a variety of places to visit and explore. Right now is not a good time to travel, but we have many raw videos in our external hard drive from previous roadtrips and thought it could be interesting to put together a Top 10 of the best places to see (until we can travel safely again). So welcome back for an overview of Arizona's most beautiful national parks and monuments!

Eva ' (and Tom).

---

List of the parks mentioned in the video (from South to North): Saguaro NP, Organ Pipe Cactus NM, Montezuma Castle NM, Tuzigoot NM, Walnut Canyon NM, Sunset Crater Volcano NM, Wupatki NM, Grand Canyon NP, Petrified Forest & Painted Desert NP, Canyon de Chelly NM, Monument Valley, Vermillion Cliffs NM.

More info:
• Southern Arizona is home to a cactus species called Saguaro. Particularly thick and tall, it can grow to be between 40 and 60 feet. Another recognizable species in the area is the organ pipe cactus.
• Among the ancient Native American ruins, some were built in cliffs, others on the ground. Back then, the communities took advantage of the geological formation and local resources of limestone and sandstone to build their pueblos.
• Other features of Arizona include volcanic lands, ancient forests that have become deserts with petrified logs, and obviously canyons such as the immense Grand Canyon (depth: 1 mile).
• We recommend the $80 annual pass America the Beautiful that gives you access to all the National Parks and National Monuments of the United States.
• I added 2 extras in the end: Monument Valley, which is a Tribal Park near the Arizona/Utah border, and Vermillion Cliffs National Monument that I don't include in the Top 10 because it's not easily accessible.
• Obviously, there are many other things to see in Arizona in addition to National Parks and Monuments: ghost towns, the region of Sedona, the surroundings of Page including Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon.

Historic Payson Arizona

This is a narrated walking and driving tour mainly around the historic areas in Payson Arizona. Payson is a town located in northern Gila County in Arizona just ninety minutes north of Phoenix. The town is surrounded by the Tonto National Forest. The mild weather makes Payson perfect to visit in the Summer. So very different or you might say opposite to the dry desert parts of Arizona, the city has many cold-water lakes and very green landscapes.
Besides all the historic areas in town, Payson has a lot to offer. There are many lakes to go fishing, trails for hiking, Picnic Areas, parks, Stables, archaeological sites, waterfalls and more. Also you will find many restaurants, farmers market, museums, theatre, unique shops and Casino.
