***Please read Jiří Kouba's comment for up to date valuable local information. George pointed out that the Mill has been closed since 2013 and now it is an art gallery. Very nice way to preserve past history while promoting local artists and art culture! Well done, Pardubice and thank you George Kouba!***
In my perspective, from where I come from, I find these things interesting and it is just my opinion, feel free to disagree and leave comments, open to discussions :-)
Pardubice (pronounced, Par-doo-bits-uh) is the 10th largest city in Czech Republic, dates all the way from 1295 settlement. Approximately, 60 miles (96km) east of Prague, 1 hour train or bus ride. Known for auto factory, oil refinery, machinery, electric plants and gingerbread! Taking train or bus will take more or less same time. *** I recommend the train for the fact you can stretch your feet and walk around, plus modern trains have LCD screen for movies and shows***
Round trip from Prague to Pardubice should cost around $18-20 (15 Euros) for business or premium. Or economy can be low as $10-12 (8-10 Euros), economy plus $13-14 (12 Euros) with LeoExpress. Book in advance!!!

Třída Míru is not a very big street nor do cars move around it but this street felt as though it was one of the major streets in Pardubice. Locals go about their business, gathering in cafes or store browsing. There are plenty of great restaurants (not just Czech food) and cafes on this street. Great place to people watch and have a cafe. Next to Pardubice University area, this street may be the second busiest area in my opinion on 3 days stay.

This Cafe Bajer in the yard might be the best cafe that I have ever stepped into. It might be this alone is worth visiting Pardubice, but the beautiful square, green gate, castle and university and the river are also fantastic! Pardubice also has another Cafe Bajer right under the Green Gate, near the Pernstein Square called Čokoláda Cafe Bajer.

Pardubice Walking tour - Pardubice Castle, Tyršovy sady 🇨🇿 Czech Republic 4k HDR ASMR
This video takes you on a walking tour of Pardubice, a town that has a rich history dating back to the 15th century. The town's development was shaped by Vilem of Pernstein, a powerful nobleman and steward who transformed it into an extravagant and vibrant center. The town's historical center and the Renaissance Square are still preserved today. Pardubice became a crucial railway junction in 1845, leading to growth in agriculture, engineering, and chemical industries. The town also has a rich tradition of horse racing, gingerbread-making, and other cultural events like the Golden Helmet Speedway race and the Junior tennis championship. Join us on this tour to discover the many fascinating aspects of this beautiful town.
Pardubice is a city in the Czech Republic. It has about 89,000 inhabitants. It is the capital city of the Pardubice Region and lies on the Elbe River. The historical center is well preserved and is protected as an urban monument reservation. Pardubice is known as the center of industry, represented by an oil refinery or an electronic equipment plant.
Pardubice experienced significant growth after 1491 when it was acquired by Vilem of Pernstein, the most powerful nobleman and steward in the Czech Kingdom. He chose Pardubice as the center of his estate and began constructing a town that reflected his stature. The extravagant construction led to the saying it glitters like Pardubice. Today, we can appreciate the Pernstein family's contributions, such as the gorgeous historical center and the renaissance square, which has been a protected conservation area since 1964. They also transformed the old castle into a luxurious palace encircled by a massive fort. Another pivotal moment in Pardubice's history came in 1845 when a train traversed the town for the first time on the Prague-Olomouc line. This turned Pardubice into a crucial railway junction, fostering growth in agriculture, engineering, and chemical industries, as well as social and cultural life. In 1874, the renowned Great Pardubice Steeplechase horse race began. Jan Kaspar, a Pardubice native, became the first Czech aviator to successfully fly and land an aircraft in 1910. A year later, he piloted the Bleriot on its inaugural flight from Pardubice to Prague, further elevating the town's reputation. The town's development was halted by the German occupation during World War II, and the local resistance movement was significantly influenced by the Silver A parachute group. The group's members, Czechoslovak soldiers sent from England, found support and refuge in Pardubice. The assassination of Reichs protector Reinhard Heydrich was believed to be linked to Silver A, leading to the execution of 194 Czech patriots by the Nazis between June and July 1942 at the Zamecek execution site. Currently, Pardubice takes pride not only in its horse racing and gingerbread-making traditions but also in events like the Golden Helmet Speedway race and the Junior tennis championship. The town boasts an extensive and safe network of bike paths and tracks for cyclists and horseback riders alike.

Walking in PARDUBICE / Czech Republic 🇨🇿 - Evening Tour - 4K 60fps (UHD)
Pardubice / Czech Republic is an industrial city with around 89,000 inhabitants known for gingerbread. Pardubice dates back to more than 700 year. Nowadays the city is well connected by trains on the lines Prague - Brno - Vienna and Prague - Ostrava. There is also an airport with limited connections. We visit Pardubice on our way from Kosice to Prague.
Our walking tour starts at the main walking street in the center Miru. We walk eastwards, get to the Green gate (Zelená brána) and old town. In the old town we see the most picturesque part of Pardubice. The castle has free roaming peacocks which is nice to see.
As we walk around a gate gets closed behind our back so we have to walk all around the castle before heading out of the old town again.
We end our tour at the Green gate which is one of the main sights in Pardubice.
