After my successful Cebu Solo-Backpacking, another solo-backpacking in the Visayas was planned, a solo-backpacking in #NegrosOccidental and Ilo-Ilo province. Language barrier wasn't a problem because Hiligaynon has similarity to our native language in Romblon. During my travel, I found out that the Negrenses are really accommodating and has a good sense of direction. In a simple question like: where is it located? they provided me a detailed instruction. In general, Negros Occidental and the province of Ilo-Ilo are Must Visit provinces in the Philippines. Sorted according to my itinerary, historical, heritage and tourist spots below were my destinations.

WHERE TO STAY: My itinerary was for 3 days and 2 nights. My first night was in Bacolod City where I stayed at Check Inn Bacolod near the plaza infront of Bacolod Cathedral. Other hotels in the city are Go Hotels Ph, East Square Inn, Dormitels.ph, Khokoon Inn, LOC Residences, Carefully Yours, Nirvana Pension House, Java Pension House, Mainstreet Pension House, and Tamera Plaza Inn.
HOW TO GET HERE: From Manila, Air Asia, Cebu Pacific and Phippine Airlines has a direct flight to Silay-Bacolod Airport. From Silay, there are UV Express or jeepney to Bacolod City.

It's time to see SAN CARLOS CITY, Negros Occidental
This video is about San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
Adventures of Gerald and Rhia honors and pays reverence and tribute to this great city, the city of San Carlos. We are staying true to our love for travel as main inspirations that led to the creation our channel that aims to explore and document life's wonders.
San Carlos, officially the City of San Carlos and simply referred to as San Carlos City, is a 2nd class city in the province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2015 census, it has a population of 132,536 people.
San Carlos City has two pronounced seasons, wet and dry. The rainy season is from May to January with heavy rains occurring during the months of August and September. Dry season lasts from February to April. December and January are the coldest months while April is the hottest.
The Pintaflores Festival was born out of the city's search for a cultural identity and tradition. In 1992 after successfully holding two activities with the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival and the Dances of Flowers as highlights of the city fiesta, the idea of blending the two concepts to come up with a presentation that could be considered the city's very own started what today is one of the most popular street dancing festivals in the region, the present-day Pintaflores Festival.
Pintaflores is coined from the words pintados (painted ones), the concept behind the Nabingkalan Tattoo Festival, and flores, the Spanish word for flowers that dominated the theme of the Dances of Flowers. The Pintaflores street dancing and ritual competition highlights the annual Pintaflores Festival every November 3–5.
