Umm about sunset in Oia, Santorini...
It's beautiful.
But if I told you it was this amazingly emotional and romantic experience... well, I'd be stretching the truth for the 'gram. 😬😶🌫️
My pants wouldn't just be on fire. They'd be in the blazing 7th ring of 😈🔥
So I decided to keep it real as usual: I didn't enjoy sunset in Oia. Sure, the whitewashed buildings and blue domes were very beautiful when they were painted orange by the golden sun. ☀️🧡 But the crowds really ruined it for me (and this was SHOULDER season!). 😳
But outside of that super famous, super Instagrammable village, you'll find other less-popular spots in Santorini that also display the same beauty - without the crowds. 🫡

Vom Kirchplatz hast du eine fantastische Aussicht auf die Altstadt, den Fluss Douro und die Portweinkeller von Vila Nova de Gaia. Welcome to Oia, Spain. Located on the Portuguese Camino, this seaside town is a hidden gem. Beautiful vistas, wonderful food, and friendly people. I'll be staying here, at the La Cala, through early January. Tayna, the owner of the pilgrim inn, will be in the US on holiday. I'll be keeping the inn open for any pilgrims who might be on pilgrimage, as well as taking care of her dog Mia, and cat Sissy. Looking forward to learning about this historic village. Will have plenty of time to take photos/video and enjoy the local culture. Please follow along and let me know if you have any questions.
