Sörmlandsleden Nykvarn 2020
3-day hike along Sörmlandsleden trail, Södermanland, Sweden.
Between stage 11 Järna and stage 20 Malmköping there is a 100 km section of wilderness with an incredible amount of lakes. If you want to split it into smaller portions, there are a number of connection trails. In this video we walked stage 13.2 from Nykvarn (bus) , 13, most of 12 and 12.1 to Mölnbo (commuter train), which totals 38 km.
RUN to NUDIST Beach in Nykvarn
It is time for some running on my channel in the spirit of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024! I am going for a run to a nudist beach called Lövnäs Naturistbad. It is a nice and small nudist beach in Nykvarn municipialty! It is located 5km away from Nykvarn train station! There is even a bigger public beach next to the nudist one and they are separated by just trees. This time I am running a bit shorter, and this run was exactly 3.5km. Don't forget to tune in also for the actual beach adventure and my swim here!

Taxinge-Näsby is an estate and former manor in Taxinge parish in Nykvarn municipality, Stockholm county. The castle-like main building is located on a headland in Gripsholmsviken, about a kilometer walking distance from the railway station Taxinge-Näsby.
The current main building was erected for the mountain councilor Anders von Wahrendorff between the years 1807 and 1813 according to drawings by architect Carl Christoffer Gjörwell, the wings are from the 18th century. The vast park with greenhouses and several gazebos, including a Chinese pavilion, and a Turkish kiosk were created mainly during Wahrendorff's time.
The castle and park have belonged to Nykvarn municipality since 1999 and are run by a private entrepreneur as a party and conference facility with a restaurant and café. The farm is owned by Uppsala Akademiförvaltning and leased out.
The name Taxinge (1280 Thaxunge) later contains inge (young). The precedent may be the natural name Thaxnäs formed from Old Swedish thax for badger.
Perhaps during the Late Iron Age there were very many badgers in the area and the inhabitants were called dachshund kids whose parish was renamed Taxinge parish. Näsby probably originates from the Viking Age and means the village on the peninsula (the headland).

Näsby is described as early as 1281. King Magnus Ladulås then confirmed that his brother, Duke Erik, had donated land to the cathedral in Strängnäs. In 1481 it came to belong to Gripsholm, which was then owned by Sten Sture the Elder, and was for a long time a monastery estate, later a crown estate owned by Gustav Vasa. Later, the property belonged to the widow queen Hedvig Eleonora's livestock.
During her time, the estate was acquired in 1681 by Johan von Westphal. He was the widow of Hedvig Eleonora's court accountant since 1665 and chamberlain in her life estate in 1671. He was knighted by von Westphal in March 1683. The property was changed by him to the savior in 1685. During Johan von Westphal's, surrounding farms were acquired to make it possible to build a manor.
Until then, Näsby had been an ordinary savior village. Von Westphal had a one-storey timber building with a high pitched roof built as his manor house. The drawing of the drawing of Näsby manor by Andres Forssman
in 1760 shows von Westphal's corps del logi (no. 14) and other buildings. According to the map, the building was located in the middle of today's main driveway, immediately south of the wings.
At von Westphal's initiative, the predecessor to today's Taxinge church was also built, where he also found his last rest. After his death in 1710, Näsby went to the widow Baroness Brita Magdalena Fleetwood (died 1755). In 1755, Näsby was bought by Gustaf Kierman and then owned by his brother-in-law, General Johan Didrik Duwall.

Traveling to STOCKHOLM, The Capital of SWEDEN! 🇸🇪
I had recently arrived in Sweden after 2 years in Mexico. Today I would take the train from Eskilstuna to the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. I stopped by Hötorget (the haymarket), Sergels torg, Riksdagen( The parliament), Kungliga slottet (The royal castle) and also gamla stan (the old town) by Södermalm. I also took the subway and the bus around in town and went by Avicii Arena (Former Stockholm globe arena) Befor coming to Sweden i lived in Playa Del Carmen in Mexico but I think I will go to Zanzibar in Tanzania after I have been in Sweden.

SJ Class Rc6 electric locomotives seen leaving and arriving at Nykvarn station on passenger trains in ‘top and tail’ formation. Both clips recorded 10th May 2019.

The SJ Class Rc is the most used electric locomotive in Sweden. Rc is a universal locomotive used both in freight and passenger trains. The largest operator is Green Cargo, although SJ, Veolia Transport, Tågåkeriet, Hector Rail and the Swedish Transport Administration operate it as well.
The Rc-locomotive first appeared in 1967 to replace the 1950s Ra-locomotive, the 1940s F-locomotive and the older D- and Da-locomotives.The locomotives are notable for using thyristors instead of the older diode based system.
Altogether there have been 8 versions of the Rc-locomotive in Sweden including the freight locomotive Rm designed to pull iron ore trains. Rc1, Rc2, Rc4, and Rc5 have a maximum allowed speed of 135 km/h. Rc3 and Rc6 have a maximum allowed speed of 160 km/h. Rc7 was a rebuild of Rc6 meant to haul replacement trains needed when the X 2000 trains were canceled or delayed. Rc7 had a maximum allowed speed of 180 km/h. However, the maximum speed permitted without emergency electromagnetic track brakes is 160 km/h, and converting the carriages proved too expensive. For that reason all Rc7 were subsequently converted back to Rc6.

The Swedish State Railways (Swedish: Statens Järnvägar) or SJ, originally the Royal Railway Board (Swedish: Kungl. Järnvägsstyrelsen), was the former government agency responsible for operating the state-owned railways in Sweden.
In 1988, the rail tracks themselves were transferred to the Swedish Rail Administration (Swedish: Banverket), and in the upcoming years parts of SJ were gradually transformed into limited companies. SJ was disbanded in 2001, with the assets transferred to seven separate companies, all owned by the Swedish government:
SJ AB, usually called SJ, the passenger train operator
Green Cargo, which operates freight trains
EuroMaint, train maintenance
Unigrid, information technology
TraffiCare, which provides terminal services, e.g. train cleaning and switching
TrainTech Engineering, currently a part of Interfleet Technology, the technical unit.
Some of them have been sold to other companies, but SJ AB, Green Cargo and Jernhusen are still (2010) fully government owned. Apart from these companies, Statens Järnvägar for a time existed as a governmental agency. It controlled some property, but had no regular railroad activities. It was dismantled by the end of 2012.

Nykvarn is a locality and (since 1999) the seat of Nykvarn Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 7,560 inhabitants in 2017. 1971-1998 it was a part of Södertälje Municipality. Nykvarn is the hometown of such bands as Hyena Breed, Feed Filiph, From Zero to Hero and Aldiureep, as well as Stanley Cup winner Carl Hagelin. The city hosts the annual rock- and metalfestival called Moshpit Open Festival.

Nykvarn Municipality (Nykvarns kommun) is a municipality in Stockholm County in east central Sweden. Its seat is located in the town of Nykvarn.
Nykvarn is a young municipality, and is the result of the splitting of Södertälje Municipality in 1999. Nykvarn can be regarded as a totally new municipality, because there was never before an entity with that territory or that name.
The municipality has a significant population increase in the summer thanks to tourism.
Nykvarn is located between the two cities Södertälje and Strängnäs, and many citizens of Nykvarn work in either.
Archeological finds show the area to have been inhabited for about 5,000 years, similar to its neighbouring municipalities around Lake Mälaren.
Besides graves from the Stone Age, there is also an interesting runestone that can be visited that is listed in the Rundata catalog as Sö 338. It currently resides in the Turinge church, a church that has a history dating back to around the year 1100. This runestone has a very long inscription.
A newer sight is the Taxinge-Näsby Castle, which was begun sometime in or before the 14th century, by Bo Jonsson Grip. The castle has its current facade in the empire style from 1813. Many celebrities have during the centuries visited or stayed at the castle, including Carl Michael Bellman in the 18th century and August Strindberg in the 19th century.

The Sörmlandsleden is the longest hiking trail in Sweden.
The section 5 starts from Handen station (Rudan naturreservat) where you can reach in only 20 minutes by commuter train to Paradiset naturreservat (the bus stop is Bruket).
Even though the weather was not perfect, the nature itself is super beautiful.
