Cempedak Nangka CH17 AMAZING Fruit of Malaysia
On our way from Mantin to Titi in Negeri Sembilan we spotted this waterfall on the side of the road and pulled over for a snack!
Can’t think of a better lunch stop than eating my favorite cempedak-jackfruit hybrid next to a waterfall with my favorite goofball! Life is pretty good in Malaysia
This cempedak-jackfruit hybrid is one of our absolute favorite fruits in Malaysia. It mostly grows around Negeri Sembilan and southern Pahang. It’s so good! Like juicy honey-lemon with an alcoholic zing!
I do prefer this cempedak hybrid to Cempedak King because it has a little bit more acid so it’s got a bit more flavor!
I prefer it when it’s less ripe and its pectins act like a glue giving it a chewy marshmallowy texture that explodes with juice when you bite it. As it gets riper, the pectins break down and the fibers begin to separate, making it stringier and very drippy-juicy, with a stronger ethanol-like alcohol bite.
Luckily we opened this one right on time and it was perfection. How do you like your cempedak? What do you think about the texture - do you think its slimy or yummy?

As we approach the harvest season (the peak is around August-September), I thought it would be a good idea to know the current prices of fruits at one of the most popular public markets in Davao - Bankerohan Public Market.
In this video, I will tour you around so that you see the prices as of June 25, 2022.
Also, as Davao City and the rest of the Davao Region will have the peak of the harvest season between August and September, you can expect the current prices to drop by around 50 percent during those months. So, keep posted.
Please note that fruit vendors price their produce per half a kilo (just be guided).

Port Barton has fewer than 7000 people and not many tourists but I am sure that is about to change as it's much less crowded than El Nido in Palawan. Don't miss out on this tropical paradise!
