Clevedon is a seaside town in North Somerset, part of the ceremonial county of Somerset. Clevedon radiates calm and a traditional seaside experience from its prominent place on the Somerset coastline looking out on the Severn Estuary. Once a farming village, its proximity to Bristol meant that it developed during the Victorian era into a seaside town with a character that still entrances visitors to this day. Clevedon is also popular as a film location, most notably ITV’s Broadchurch, Never Let Me Go starring Keira Knightley and the band One Direction making a video to You and I on the town’s famous Victorian pier found at one end of the half-mile long beach. The town, by Junction 20 of the M5, is just 13 miles from Bristol and 10 miles from Weston-Super-Mare with good public bus links to both major towns. (

Nailsea Walk: Town Centre【4K】
Located in the county of Somerset, and around eight miles west of Bristol, is the town of Nailsea.
From the 16th century, coal mining had taken place in Nailsea, with the earliest recorded instance dating back to 1507 when coal was transported to light fires at the neighbouring village of Yatton.
In 1788 Nailsea Glassworks was opened by industrialist John Robert Lucas, utilising the potential of the readily available coal in the area. Two cones were built - one for bottle making, the other for the production of crown glass - a type of window glass with a distinctive globe-shaped pattern. At its peak, Nailsea Glassworks was the fourth largest in England. It eventually closed in 1873.
In 1882 Nailsea's last coal pit closed. The reason for this is attributed to the competition from larger mines in South Wales and the North of England where the coal was easier and cheaper to extract.
In the late 1950s, Nailsea was selected by Somerset County Council as a site for a New Town, i.e. a modern urban settlement to accommodate for the expanding population of the nearby cities, in this case Bristol.

This was a video that was promised a long time ago, Bristol VR VDV134S filmed on the return trip from Nailsea on the X54 service. The first video was uploaded as audio only as the lens was steamed up when I boarded this service in the city centre but had cleared up in time for the return journey.
I count myself lucky on that day being able to enjoy a preserved Bristol Vr being put through its paces on public service and in places, enjoying the singing that Bristol Vr's are well known for.
